We stayed in one of the cottages in the back, and it truly felt like a cozy home away from home--quiet, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. One of the biggest highlights was how affordable everything was compared to other places in Sonoma, especially considering all the thoughtful extras included. They offer complimentary wine hour in the evening (4:30-5:30), which was a great way to unwind, and breakfast in the morning (8:30-9:30), which helped us save both time and money. Those little touches really made a difference and added to the overall experience. Communication was also seamless--even outside of regular hours, the team was easy to reach and quick to respond, which we really appreciated. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better stay. The place was clean but I feel confused and slightly deceived. The photos on yelp show amazing home made breakfasts and that's why I booked this vs a hotel. They call themselves a bed and breakfast but we just got 2 pieces of thin bacon, white toast and a little scrambled eggs. The coffee was from a Keurig machine. I've had better breakfast from Quality Inn. They also ran out of orange juice so we got generic apple juice. We went to give a tip but no employees were around to give the tip to, I tried twice. It wasn't the warm bed and breakfast experience that I have had in the past. I heard they switched owners and that the new owner is a very sweet boss, which is great. However, maybe this shift was why the Yelp pictures don't match was we experienced?! read more

Cinnamon Bear Inn B & B on Hwy 12 in Sonoma is a great location and great value! We stayed 3 nights in the detached cottage and, while small, it was cute and adequately appointed. The mini-split ac unit worked well, the small fridge/freezer in our room was helpful, smart TV had lots of options, and you could use the great room in the main house or any one of the outdoor areas to enjoy a wine or a light snack. And the shower had plenty of hot water and a decent spray. Breakfast was served by very friendly ladies every morning and varied a little from day to day (eggs, pancakes, toast etc) along with juice, coffee and a small fresh fruit cup. They also offered a glass of wine in the evening from one of the local wineries. We met several of the other guests while enjoying the wine which was very pleasant. The young receptionist was always willing to help with whatever we needed. Is it a night at the Taj Mahal- no. But it is a great value and met our needs perfectly. This in was in a good location. The room, though small, was adequate. Was nice for an overnight. Not sure about longer than that. Breakfast left a bit to be desired, consisting of an egg and bacon sandwich with a spread on it that I didn't care for ( wish it was on the side). Coffee was a Kerig. I left my phone charging cable at home and the young lady at the desk quickly provided one for me. Overall, for the price a good value. I'd stay again. read more

This is one amazingly homey and charming place. From the moment you pull up into a parking lot with orange trees giving shade... from the moment you see their lovely patio... from the moment you are greeted at the door by the super-friendly husky Bo... Well, you decide from which moment you're going to fall in love with this place. The owners are super-friendly and gregarious. They host a "social hour" with some wine and simple snacks where you can meet other guests before heading out for your evening plans and they make and serve a lovely home-style breakfast. The rooms are lovely, but not too fancy, but with lovely touches. The jacuzzi in our room (not available in every room) certainly was great for relaxing. There's some street noise, but not too bad. The downstairs hang-out area smells of cinnamon and the owners are always there to help you. I couldn't recommend this place enough. read more

Planning a trip for five women is no easy task. Most hotels/B&B's can accommodate up to three guests but a higher number can be difficult. Not with the Cinnamon Bear Creekside Inn! Staff was so helpful and accommodating and they had just completed the Ohana Room which was for larger groups. It was perfect for us. It has a living area with a couch (queen sleeper), two chairs and a small table and chairs. The bedroom was spacious with a king sized bed with lots of storage for luggage. One bathroom which was roomy and had adequate counter space. Roll away beds are available. The breakfasts were delicious, staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean. We stayed one night and although quaint and charming, it did leave a lot to the imagination (I was told there was a relatively new owner who was in the process of updating the property). Upon arrival, our evening host was very helpful at check-in and provided recommendations to local eateries, etc. The hosted welcome hour was nice and afforded the guests to mingle, while enjoying a glass of wine and a cheeseboard. The accommodations were fine: My daughter and I stayed in the Veloso room. It was spacious and comfortable. There was a creek that ran through their backyard. We were told that deer had been seen earlier in the day (we were not fortunate enough to see them). We turned in at about 11pm and slept comfortably. We awoke the next day for our much anticipated breakfast. I went downstairs for coffee: They had freshly brewed coffee and a keurig (both were not good at all). The breakfast was decent, but not great (and I believe the waffles may have been frozen). The eggs and sausage were good. The morning staff were nice. Check out was a breeze. Being that this was a bed and breakfast, I definitely would have expected good coffee, at minimum; with a fully homemade breakfast. The property itself was charming and quaint. We will likely not stay here again when we are in the area. read more

Visited Sonoma Valley for the holidays, and we stayed at this cute bed and breakfast for a couple of days and so glad to do so. Sonoma is a small town, and this was not hard to find since it is right off a main road stretching to Santa Rosa. It is also very close to the cute downtown area. Upon arrival at the house, we were greeted and given information about the BnB via an information sheet and a towm map. We walked upstairs to a cozy room with an ensuite for convenience, but if at any point we needed a second bathroom, there was one just across the hall. The room was equipped with a comfortable queen sized bed and a TV for cable as well as a portable air conditioner and heater. The next morning we were greeted upon going downstairs. They already had our tale set up, and we were quickly served coffee, water, orange juice, fresh fruit, and an apple fritter. Delish! Then came a plate of quiche and a potato bake. Super yummy breakfast! For the next morning, we opted for biscuits and gravy and were still served coffee, OJ, fresh fruit, and water. The couple that runs the place is so nice and welcoming. They also have a beautiful dog aged Beau that is such a sweetheart. Excellent customer service and comfy surroundings. read more

Cinnamon Bear was the CUTEST bed and breakfast with the most friendly service, delicious breakfast, and close to everything! The rooms are large, quiet and comfy. The jacuzzi was my favorite part, though a good night sleep was a close second! The wine passport they offer you was such a steal, including buy one get one free tastings, or sometimes just tastings completely free! I wanted to like this place but it turned out to be just a bad stay. Started with us booking one room and getting a different one. When I tried to talk to the owner about it all she could say is that I should have booked through her and not a third party. She is a very nice lady if everything is going well, but if you have an issue she just throws her hands up and is unwilling to help. We were traveling with my mother-in-law who has some major mobility issues. Despite me confirming via email and over the phone that we needed the down stairs room with a roll-away bed and reserving it 4 months prior to our stay, we still got the wrong room and had to help my mother-in-law up and down steep stairs fearing she would fall every time. The Inn is located on a very busy street and it is incredibly loud. It is a very old place and nothing has been upgraded. The beds are incredibly hard and uncomfortable, the widows are broken, and there is just no attention to detail in the cleaning. To top it all off, the one thing that we were looking forward to was the great breakfast...and it had hair in it! read more

We stayed here for three nights and it was pleasant. We weren't bothered by the "busy" street which imo is just a normal street with traffic.. our room wasn't street facing so we weren't bothered by street nosies either. Our room had a back door that opened up to the back patio and it was cute for sitting out to enjoy a glass of wine or star gazing. The bed is quiet comfortable and the beddings are sooo soft! I actually enjoyed the location quite a bit - it's a nice 25 mins walk/ 2 mins drive to the town plaza that offers a lot of dining, shopping, wine tasting options. Between the inn and the plaza, there are coffee shops, gas stations and grocery stores (Whole Foods, Safeway, Sonoma market). Breakfast was freshly made everyday and was really nice with a pastry, main dish, and fruits. I especially enjoyed the freshly pickled jalapeños! There's a social hour in the afternoon where wine and snacks are provided. It was nice to get to know the other travelers a bit as well as the owners and BO!. Deducting one star for the room is a bit dated and the hardwood floor is dusty. I also wish there was a communal microwave and water station. read more

A charming B&B! The historical home has charm and is walking distance to downtown and local hiking. The hosts, Karen & Larry, are great. They were friendly, helpful and engaging while at the same time stepping back to allow and encourage guests to mingle. We met others from 4 different countries, enjoying conversations during the gracious happy hour and breakfasts. Speaking of which the baked brie with raspberry served was fantastic and there were also several other plates with assorted snacks. The breakfasts were delicious and ample and served to tables nicely decorated with fresh flowers and pretty place settings. Both days we were treated to fresh fruit, a homemade pastry, juice, an egg dish, sausage or bacon and potatoes. All food was high quality.... no powdered eggs here! When we got suddenly evacuated from our home due to the Glass Fire (and good thing, because the fire burned our property!), we didn't know where to go, and with reasonable mid-week rates, this ended up being a good choice! It's true that it's not the most glamorous place in town (and a bit on the outskirts... you can walk to the square, but it's a long walk. Short and easy drive, though!), but it was clean, comfortable, and good bang-for-the-buck. They are taking the proper covid precautions, such as nice spacious outdoor seating for breakfast... and those breakfasts are nice and hearty! They always include protein, which I appreciate (eggs usually, but sometimes also ham or sausage)... the breakfasts were also varied, including omelettes, Belgian waffle, fried potatoes, and eggs Benedict (our favorite) I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but for the weekday prices we paid, this place was quite a pleasant surprise. read more

You Must stay here! This is a hidden gem. Right in the heart of wine country. Walking distance from downtown Sonoma. Sonoma and Napa wineries within a 17 min drive. Yountville with its famous restaurants is a 30 min drive. San Francisco is an hour away. BUT, the main reason to stay is the unbelievable hospitality of Karen and Larry! They made us want to just stay and hang out with them. Oh, and afternoon hospitality hour with snacks and wine. Plus Bo....the Best host and best boy! If you are concerned about traffic noise, ask for a room that doesn't face the street. I almost forgot to mention Karen makes the Best from scratch breakfast, using veggies from their garden. read more

I really really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, there were too many issues that I can't overlook. I will say that the couple that owned the place were very sweet, and helpful in their recommendations. Which makes this hard to write, but I feel like it's important to acknowledge this experience. Starting off, we did not realize that it's located on a busy road, and it's basically in a parking lot. It's in a seedy part of town that didn't feel totally safe. It didn't feel quaint or cozy, and we heard traffic all night long. The breakfast was served outside, per covid procedures which was appreciated. They had hand sanitizer on the tables as well. HOWEVER they had at least 4 wasp traps (the kind that have liquid inside where you watch the wasps crawl in and die) on the tables where food was served, and only moved it to the fence next to our chairs before we sat to eat. It was so disgusting we couldn't eat our breakfast. The room looked way more modern and spacious online, we stayed in the "Cottage Room." In reality, it was an old shed that was converted into a small room, with dated furnishings, dead bugs, spider webs, and an uncomfortable mattress. We wound up shortening our stay and leaving early. It was super unfortunate, and again I really wanted to love this place, but it just was not what we expected. read more

Stayed this past weekend at the Cinnamon Bear Creekside Inn while doing some wine tasting in Sonoma. Rooms were clean and comfy, and the staff was exceptional. It is located about a mile from the town square which made for an easy morning walk to catch the wine trolley which I highly recommend. The breakfast each morning was fabulous, I ordered my eggs over medium, and was very pleased that they were cooked to perfection! The Belgian waffles and creme brûlée French toast was also perfect! I highly recommend staying here, and we will definitely make this our first choice in the future. read more

This was the most bizarre experience. At 8:15 pm I wanted to take a shower. Could not figure out how to get shower to turn on. I called the cell number given on the check in form and just got an answering machine. I went into the Bed And Breakfast lobby. On the left was a widely open door (with their dog going in and out) that led into a sitting room with a TV on. I was not sure if this was private or public area so I just stuck my head through the door and called "hello, is anyone there" . After a bit there was a string of curses (!!!) which came through an inner door. Remember this is not late, it is now 8:20 at night. The curses went on for a while then a male voice said "Goddamn it what is the problem" . I explained that I couldn't get the shower to turn on. Another string of curses then he said he was coming and all went silent. I retreated to the front door. After 10 minutes and no appearance, I again went to the door to the living area and called out "hello, are you coming?" which was responded with another "well, goddamn"...more curses..then "just wait, I was asleep and have to get up at 4 to cook your goddamn breakfast". Wow. And breakfast is not until 8:30 in the morning...He finally appeared and followed me to my room which was a free standing cabin outside. Halfway there, I noticed he was no longer following me. I returned to the lobby and called again. His wife now answered and said he was not there so I went back to the room. He was now in the tiny bathroom and said the shower was working fine. I asked what the problem was and he said none and I asked him to show me how to turn it on. he came out of the bathroom right into my face and said aggressively "how many nights are you staying????) (that was the only night so I guess he meant that it was running so he didn't need to show me anything). Turns out you had to pull the handle really hard straight out to get water to go on. Tight enough that I could barely do it. I have never been sworn at in a hotel before. Both he and his wife drank a lot of wine during happy hour so there may be a alcohol problem. The breakfast was great. The next day neither he nor his wife mentioned anything about the previous evening's bizarre events much less apologized. Can't say enough good things about our stay here. The inn keepers were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. The room opened up to the large patio area where we spent our evenings relaxing with a bottle of wine. The bed was comfortable and my partner loved the jetted tub. The breakfasts were great too. Some other reviews mentioned the road noise; you can hear it but unless you're completely focused on it, it's barely noticeable. Would stay here again, for sure! read more

I hate to be so harsh but people need to know. The hosts were nice but this place was dingy. The "cottage" was a converted shed in the back connected to a laundry room. Everything was old and falling apart. The house is close to the busy road and very noisy. The part of town was pretty seedy. Very overpriced to be honest. I made an excuse to leave early and had to eat the $200 for the next night. We also didn't receive the free wine tasting that was advertised. I'm frustrated because after digging more I found all the bad reviews for this place. I have no idea where all these positive reviews are coming from. My in-laws came to town to visit and booked a room here. There was a fire hazard. It was absolutely filthy. There were candy wrappers and a half eaten cookie on the floor. Hair and blood stains on the sheets. There was two oil heaters and one of them had no legs and was leaning up against the wall very close to the drapery. Fire hazard. When my father-in-law walked back to the office to tell them that the room wasn't okay, an older woman with blonde hair yelled at him in front of two other customers claiming he was insulting her hotel and told them to leave. He wasn't really rude. He was very straight-forward and he and his wife didn't deserve that kind of treatment. We luckily found them another place. My father in law realized he still had the room key. I went back with my mother in law. She gave her the key. The blonde woman didn't apologize, just said thanks as pleasantly as she could while clearly feeling pretty awkward. My mother in law is a saint and I didn't get into it with this woman as I wanted to respect my mother in law's values of kindness. Sonoma is a smaller town. It's way bigger than the back country road community I grew up in, but people around here seem to all know each other. She probably thought they were a couple tourists not realizing that she's going to see me and my husband around town. read more

Cinnamon bear inn is a MUST STAY! This is exactly what a bed and breakfast is all about! Karen and Larry are the most hospitable people I have ever met, oh and of course I cannot forget about Beau the adorable husky!! Our first day here we were greeted immediately by the sweet fluff ball and his kisses which in my book was already deserving of a five star. Karen then greeted us and checked us in to our room. After we freshened up we came back down stairs and had a delicious array of veggies, cheese, crackers and pastries with some wine before heading out for the evening. During that time my fiancé and I got to spend some quality time getting to know Karen and Larry and they are down to earth amazing people. Every morning we were given a wonderful breakfast and pastry with juice and coffee or tea. The room was very comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was extremely relaxing. My partner and I decided to stay in Sonoma on our way back up north to do some wine tasting. We booked our room around 5pm for that night and the following night, and the woman (who seemed to be the manger) was nothing but sweet and helpful. She left us an envelope with recommendations for the area and info about our room and how their business is handling the pandemic / cleaning processes. The room was cozy, clean and spacious. We had a private bathroom. (As a girl with long hair I would have appreciated a little bottle of conditioner, but not a big deal!). There was a hair dryer under the sink, lotion and shampoo. They make coffee or tea and breakfast for all their guests between 830-930 every morning. The breakfast is amazing! They wait for you to come down to your table to serve you so it's fresh and hot, we didn't get there until 9 one morning and it was perfectly fine. Although there's no fridge in your room they have a fridge on the first level for all guests to use, we used it to chill our wine and cheese. It's also within walking distance to a couple restaurants, bars and a healthy walk to the wonderful Sonoma market. We had a good time at Starling (had a couple beers and yummy pizza). They were open until 11pm. Overall would recommend to a couple interested in exploring Sonoma while feeling right at home! read more

Longtime friends who met at college 50 years ago, and their spouses, gathered for a reunion in Sonoma. We could not be more impressed with the inn and the arrangements made for us. They put up a banner with pictures of us from our college days, had a huge bouquet in our college colors of purple and white, and the table centerpieces were also in those colors. The large gathering space was lovely. Each room was very comfortable, clean, and well appointed. Every day the full breakfasts were different, and they graciously accommodated our one gluten free friend. Each afternoon there was a generous wine pour from a good selection, and a full spread of nibbles (cheese, salami, olives, crackers, nuts, etc.). We also got a discount for booking several rooms. Jennifer, the onsite manager, made all these arrangements. Cruz, the onsite server, ably and quickly took care of all our needs. She even led us in a fun bingo game our second morning, complete with prizes, before we departed for wine tasting. I would stay here again any time I'm up in Sonoma. We could easily walk to town for restaurants and sightseeing. read more

Cinnamon Bear is great! Nice rooms, very warm and homey, well decorated and perfect for an adult get away! The location and hospitality is key! It is just a couple of miles from Sonoma Square (2 mile drive or 10 min walk) and very close to some wineries! We were there 2 nights in mid Oct (fri and sat nights) and the hostesses were very helpful! Breakfast was excellent - egg frittata in a ramekin with veggies and chorizo with creme fraiche on top. That was really really good! Side of fruit compote and English muffins. Juice, coffee, milk were set out to self serve. We only had Sat breakfast there since we had plans Sun morning. The dining room is inviting with nice china! We used the hot tub out back, under the trees and surrounded by a lovely garden. The temp setting is locked in at lukewarm but I like my hot tub HOT. But it was a nice way to wind down with some wine! Know that this B&B is on busy street and you can hear the road noise all night long. We're not used to that so we turned on the fan on the AC to drown out the noise. Will definitely go back! read more

Amazing place. This was our very first time in the wine country and stayed here for our first BnB experience. Our room was very nice and clean, also bed was quite comfortable as well. Wine & Cheese were offered shortly after we arrived & available as a happy hour daily. The location was conveniently close to town with free parking. A wine tasting discount card was provided which helped greatly when visiting local wineries. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. My favorite thing was how this was truly a Bed and Breakfast, and the homemade breakfast did NOT disappoint. Belgium waffles, eggs, parfait, fresh OJ, and coffee. To date this is the best b & b experience I've had. This place is awesome in every way right down to the amazing breakfast you'll get. You will notice how clean it is right off the bat, you will feel welcomed to the dinning room in the morning with tea and coffee and sat with others to enjoy very fine home cooked breakfast. The location is ideal as can be, only a couple miles from the historic center of Sonoma and a grip of wineries within a few miles. The birthday girl and I got to choose one of two rooms and we picked the 'Sarah Vaughn' cause it has a jet tub !
