Sonoma Creek Inn offers a more affordable option in Sonoma. The Inn has been upgraded recently (repairs ongoing). Our room offered lots of space, a large full bath and a private patio. Everything was well maintained and tastefully decorated. The lampshades were historic photos of the area- a nice touch! There was a fridge and coffeemaker in the room. A very nice little cafe is in the corner of the Inn, and we had a great breakfast there. Plenty of off street parking, and friendly staff. read more

For the price, this place is hard to beat in Sonoma. On Boyes Hot Springs Road which is noisy if you have a patio room, it is across the road from the historic Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn (at 5× the price of this hotel) in a residential neighborhood. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable with updated fun decor. The bathroom has a long counter and a low tub shower. Free wifi, fridge, a/c and coffee maker included. 10 minutes from Sonoma square with parking right outside the rooms. read more

This is an older 1 story motel type property ran by very nice people. Our room was clean with a real comfy bed. Great water pressure in the shower. The bummer of our stay was that SCI sits 20 feet away from a fairly busy street. The road noise was significant. We stayed on a Friday night so lots of cars driving by with their stereos blaring late at night. We couldn't enjoy our patio due to the road noise. We turned the fan and AC up to attempt to drown out the noise. This property would have been just fine had it not been for the street noise. read more

A 5-star stay for so many reasons! Let's start with Dana, who checked us in, and was just a ray of sunshine! She instantly greeted my hubby and I when we stepped into the main office, and made us feel like welcomed & valued guests. She even sent me a text once we were in our room to make sure we were all good, and another after we checked out to say that she hoped we enjoyed our stay! On the day of check in, we called to see if there was a chance to have a slightly earlier check in (like an hour earlier), but unlike most hotels, this one seems to be run like a smaller, more intimate B&B, so we were told that we'd likely have to wait until 4pm. It was also the night before the half marathon we were in town for, so understandably, the inn was probably more busy/full too. Once checked in, we got into our room and were so pleasantly surprised! Thoughtful details like local vintage art hung up on the walls, ample space in the room, a rather large bathroom with a nice big, solid door, and absolutely clean and home-y feel overall. We loved it! Checked all the boxes that we needed for a 1-night stay for a race, and then some! Bed was clean and comfortable, water pressure in the shower was great, and lots of extra details you wouldn't typically expect from a little inn, like a full-sized desk, armoire with TV, cushioned leather chair, a bench, vintage art/images on the lampshades, lots of shelves in the bathroom and vanity lights, and pretty tiled bathtub/shower walls. Just overall very charming! Only a few minutes drive from Sonoma Plaza/downtown Sonoma, and a great place to stay if you're in town for a special event, wine tasting, and/or exploring all the wonderful things that Sonoma has to offer. read more

Hidden gem off Highway 12 Sonoma. Incredible Staff. Sup clean rooms and comfortable beds. Deserves hi then 5 stars. As with all hotels and B&B or Air B&B in Sonoma they are NOT chain hotels or accommodations. People come to Sonoma for 2 reasons. 1: The Scenery and peace and quiet. 2: The food and wine. First time visiting Sonoma and friends recommended this place. Off the beaten path, this place is not flashy like some of the local places but it's also not as pricey. Tucked into a residential area, if I didn't know better I probably would have just driven by. When we got there, we were in for a pleasant surprise. We got the King room with a patio, which was clean, cute, and more than enough room for 2 people. The place is obviously an older property but they obviously care about cleanliness. No complaints at all. The bonus is the little cafe alongside it, which offers a great, inexpensive breakfast or lunch. First time but not the last. We'll definitely come back. read more

I really love Sonoma Creek Inn for what it is. It meets my needs and I've stayed here on two separate occasions lately. When I'm looking for a nice, quiet and quaint place to feel safe and get some shut eye Sonoma Creek Inn is it. I stayed here during the warmer months when I brought my son up for a bit of wine tasting and recently on a much colder evening and the place can totally be someone up with one word: hygee. When I'm looking for simple, comfortable, cozy, warm pleasures of life, I can find them here. Show up after check in hours, my room key is in the pick up box, heater is in, comfortable bed, tv, lightening, warm water for a nice shower, great water pressure, and no one disturbing me. Friendly service, parking right outside of my room, ice machine near by. You shouldn't have to leave your home for peace but this place provides it. I'll probably continue to stay here when I'm in the area. The rates are completely reasonable and the service is great. read more

I've stayed at Sonoma Creek Inn, many years ago, and I remembered what a pleasant stay it was, so when my family wanted to get away to Sonoma for a weekend after scouring the places to stay, I then remembered this Inn. We wanted some place that was CLEAN, nice decor, easy access with free parking and reasonable. Since it has probably been over 15 yrs since we stayed at this Inn, we could only hope that it would be as pleasant as it was 15 yrs ago. They've made some changes, but all in all, we had a very nice time staying there- it met all of the above desires. So I definitely recommend staying there. read more

I can't remember a time when I liked a place so much. They accommodated my early arrival, and were so friendly... it felt like staying with friends. It is an older, quaint property, so its not super fancy... but it was VERY clean, and its small enough that you don't get bothered by other guests. The creekside cafe on the property -also excellent, friendly, and both are very reasonably priced. My husband and I have already decided to go back for a weekend getaway soon! read more

Ruth was at the front desk when we arrived. She was super warm, inviting and friendly. She was prepared with our check in "envelope" which made check in a breeze. There is a small seating area next to the office that would've been a cool hang out had it not been raining. The exterior of the rooms are charming. The interior was clean and had everything we needed including a fridge and small patio area. The bed was a little uncomfortable but we didn't expect luxury mattresses. The bathroom was dated and could use an upgrade. Very quaint charming no frills inn that is close to wineries and a cafe connected on the corner. read more

I love this place for its charm, hospitality, location, outstanding customer service and affordability. The inn is made to look like a 40's motor inn, super cute, well themed and of course clean and comfortable. Sonoma Highway and Arnold Drive are easy access. The price cannot be beat. Ruth at the front desk took the time to tell me a lot about Sonoma history that was super interesting. After we checked out, I got a text letting me know that we had left a charger in the room. We thought they were mistaken, so we ignored the text. A week later they sent an email. When I called to say we didn't think it was ours, she described it to me and sure enough, they were right. They contacted us not once, but twice and then shipped it to us! That's great customer service! I love The Sonoma Creek Inn! read more

We took a quick trip to Sonoma last minute and found this little place at about $189 a night. It's a cute & quiet little inn where you get what you pay for. As long as you keep that in mind and don't expect high end mattresses, comforters, appliances, modern decor, etc... then you will be just fine. If you want all that fancy jam then don't bother booking here. For us it was perfect! Bed was a little noisy, the walls were a bit thin so you could hear your room next door but for the most part everyone was cool about it. No huge partying or horseplay that kept us up at night. On the same property is a little cafe so you can easily roll out of bed and walk like 1 minute and voila! Delish breakfast read more

This is a modest but nice place, however, all 4 pillows in our room were mildewed. The room smelled because of them and my husband's skin smelled after sleeping on them. When I reached out to housekeeping I was informed there were no other pillows available. read more

This isn't the most glamorous hotel but given the price I was able to get on Expedia.com last minute and how close it is to Sonoma town square it is a deal! Decent sized room and bathroom, everything is clean, TV works, heat works, all basics are there. It is only a 5-10 minute drive to the town square, and for $130 a night including tax I consider that to be a great deal right in Sonoma. They have beautiful flowers on the fencing surrounding the building. The office is not always staffed so you have to definitely check the times for check in and especially if you are coming late. All the charm of a bed and breakfast for the price of a budget chain hotel. Not only is The Sonoma Creek Inn beautifully decorated and maintained, but the staff are relaxed, friendly and genuine. I was assisted by Dan and the night staff. Both offered a warm welcome via telephone and in person. The location is spectacular! Pop into the breakfast spot next door, or walk just down the block to a cute coffee shop, tacqueria or full sized Mexican restaurant. A smokehouse and the day spa are also within walking distance. read more

There are two possible impressions when arriving to this hotel. If you come in via the main town square, past the quaint shops and side road stands and just the Fiarmont Inn & Spa (which is just around the corner), you'll think you've found a hidden gem. Come in via Arnold Dr., up Boyes Rd past the neighborhood homes, (some of which look down trotten) and just past the 7-11 store (must remember for possible late night booze run) then you're impression is "what am I about to get into?" However the route you take, the Sonoma Creek Inn is a cute, clean, cozy hotel with some of the best room accommodations I've seen in similar places. The rooms have details such as old road signs for hat/coat hooks. Old poster art from Sunset Magazines. Large bathrooms with beautiful tile and large powerful shower heads. My favorite part of the room was the small patio. A Spanish style area with a small fountain whose water sound is very soothing. It's a good place to read in your own privacy or simply have a glass of wine after a day of exploring the region. There is fast WiFi here which is being used now as I right this review on the very same patio describe above, listening to streaming music on a Mac from Soma FM radio sipping and sipping a glass of wine. read more

There is no doubt it is a cute place, great location, clean, but what they seem to miss is some people stay in a hotel to sleep. Cute as it is, furnishings, motifs, interior decorating, etc. if you can't sleep...and we could not sleep. Please folks, get the point. I don't care if the table is a tasteful antique if the refrigerator is so loud, we have to unplug it at 3 a.m. In the room we were in, upstairs, there were no room darkening curtains, blinds and the lights from outside streams into the room at night. Like others said, the ac/heater was also noisy, weird. Maybe there are quieter rooms but this one was not one of them. We ended up exhausted. Not sure we will stay there again, unfortunately. Cute doesn't mean restful and restful should be the priority if you're a hotel. Otherwise, open a shop. read more

We loved staying here! It was very clean and comfortable. It felt like a lot of love and TLC went into the design of this place :) The manager was very helpful in suggesting places to go and things to do as sol. As we walked in... She even loaned us a pair of her personal wine glasses to use for the evening. My boyfriend is 6'6", so this choice was wonderful for the vaulted ceilings in the room! Very nice quality bed. A quaint little patio attached with a lovely water feature. The bathroom was very roomy with a Keurig coffee machine and built in bathing amenities in the shower :) The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is I think every hotel should have a pool & hot tub. However, we didn't really have much time for that after the wineries and outings! read more

The Sonoma Creek Inn is full of promise and style. It is definitely a very decent choice for the money but I don't know if I would return. I visited during an almost complete Covid-related shutdown so clearly my experience was colored by the parameters of travel under these conditions. However, all of my concerns are not related to Covid restrictions. Upon entering my room for the first time I noticed this: One of the two windows in my room could not open-the grooves on the handle were worn. I could not raise the venetian blind because the cord was missing and I noticed that there was only about one inch of the cord left at the very top of the blind. Additionally, the bathroom sink stopper was inoperative as it was locked in the closed position and I was able to use the sink only because I placed a large paper clip underneath it to hold it open. No one was permitted to enter my room due to Covid so had I not created this repair the only option would have been to move after I had already unpacked for a five night stay. So this was not a great start but eventually I had an experience that was more concerning to me. Their key cards are easily de-magnetized. I carry cards with magnetic strips all the time, as we all do, and none behave as weakly as these cards did. So I got back to the hotel after going out to pick up dinner and had hot food in my car when I could not enter my room with either card. The remedy was to call their answering service which provided me with the lock box number I needed to obtain the universal key card that would open my door. They use this box regularly for late check-ins as office hours are limited. The box had narrow pins which were clearly mechanical. What I was not told is that I had to depress each pin until I heard a click. Without that click you don't get in. I didn't know that, had not been told so by the answering service, and had seen no notice on the box regarding this necessary step. So I could not open the box to retrieve the universal key card. When Rachel Cowen, the hotel manager, was informed of my predicament, her choice to solve it was to suggest I wait for her arrival so that she could open the box. I begged the answering service to have her simply call me and give me proper instructions to open the box but she decided she would handle this the way it felt comfortable for her, rather than me, and pulled into the parking lot about 15 minutes after I had called to open the box that I could have opened myself 15 minutes earlier had she chosen to call me with instructions. So although the Inn does have many lovely design features and is a good value for a night in Sonoma, it is doubtful I would ever return. Life is too short. read more

No hotel services after 9:00 pm! I stepped out for a bucket of ice after 10 pm and my card key did not let me back in. I was locked out of my room with no phone, wallet, or car keys. What a nightmare. There is no night clerk, no wall phone, intercom or way to reach on call person from the premises. ?? in desperation I started knocking on other room-doors after 10:00 pm- Very Very Humiliating. GET A WALL MOUNTED PHONE OR HOT LINE FOR NIGHT CALL PERSON -ONLY $25 ABOUT PER MONTH. Not everyone is a couple or in bed by 9:00! read more

The bathroom was super clean and we had a patio with a table and chairs. Our favorite part was getting breakfast next door at the Creekside Cafe. The Goods: *Much more affordable than most options in town *Clean, cute (on the inside), Spanish-style rooms w/ patios *1/2 mile from the Sonoma Mission Inn (and 1/2 the price), where many events are held *Decent little breakfast cafe on the grounds, where you can get takeout and bring it back to enjoy on your little private patio with the fountain *Marvelous high water pressure shower, loved it! *Quick Wi-Fi *Nice inn-keeper The Bads: *Noisy roadside location, ok at night, but makes sleeping in difficult *Bright white, thin curtains over south-facing windows, again, tough for the wine hangover sleep-in session *Styrofoam cups in the room The Uglies: *Lacks curbside appeal, sort of motel-like at twice the cost (though, as mentioned above, inside is much nicer) *"Late-night check-in" at 9pm, you have to call an emergency line & the operator guides you to a lock box with your key - not very welcoming & they made a mistake w/ our check-in. They thought we hadn't arrived, so we got a weird phone-call the next morning telling us our card would be charged anyway - we were still in bed - in the bed the operator had checked us into. When I called to make a reservation, I was told specifically over the phone, that this is not the place I want to stay if I'm trying to impress anybody.. or plan on spending a lot of time in the room. I thought to myself, perfect-- I want to sleep in the room and spend the rest of my trip out buying lots of wine, tasting, and dining with good company. Locked in one night with a credit card, and made my way up over the weekend. I arrived at 2:50pm, Saturday, and check-in wasn't until 3pm. My room wasn't ready, but I was forewarned, this is a small establishment and to be prepared that it might not be ready until exactly at check-in. The room was immaculate! The bed was comfy and all the furniture even appeared to be fairly new. The restrooms were very clean and functioned very well also! The room and bathroom was very well lit, and the blinds kept it very dark the next morning, when I wanted to sleep in. Only real complaint-- would have to be the ac/heater wall unit. I didn't even turn it on, until the next morning. It was very loud, and didn't exactly do a quick job on heating up the room while, I was getting ready. Everything else about this hotel-- is great, like other yelpers have mentioned, you get what you pay for here, and that feels nice. read more
