The rooms are very clean and with plenty of amenities, including first and foremost, superb beds! Our room had plenty of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscottis. We requested additional hot chocolate and tea the next day, and we got plenty more biscottis too! At the hotel level, there's continental breakfast to get your morning going, a pool and jacuzzi, free parking and a beautiful courtyard to spend the morning or evening reading. We had an average stay here. We came as part of a wedding block. When we called we asked to be booked in a king but were booked in a double full bed room instead which was pretty grim. The beds were small & not the most comfy. You can tell the place is old & it didn't have much light in the room and felt almost like witness protection. The WiFi was spotty. The complimentary breakfast wasn't really much of a breakfast. Most of what was offered (bread, quiche, yogurt & cereal) we couldn't eat because of the gluten and diary. The staff was kind for the most part and the place was pretty clean, it was also conveniently located to everywhere we needed to visit but to spend over 300 a night at this inn, you'd expect a bit more, given even holiday inn provides a much better breakfast. Solid establishment in Sonoma - I stayed here while attending a sustainability conference at the Fairmont Sonoma nearby, which I wasn't able to get a reservation at. The inn was well located, with plenty of motel-style parking, and a comfortable room. The check-in and check-out staff were polite and helpful, and gave me the local directions and tips I asked for with a smile. Other notable aspects: - they have beautiful grounds with greenery and a fountain - the lobby is very comfortable with free coffee and refreshments - there is excellent WiFi throughout the property Will certainly consider staying here again. read more

Though it looks like a motel at first glance, the inn is gorgeous inside and on the grounds with lovely decor in the lobby and very spacious and thoughtfully designed rooms eith several spaces for sitting whether watching tv or dining indoors or on the patio. The only thing I didn't like about the room is that unless the bathroom door was closed firmly, it hung open at a 90 degree angle blocking clear entry into and out of the room. It felt a big like a hazard and certainly shocked us when we keyed in and opened the front door and it appeared there was another door right behind it to open too. I like that they have breakfast available and a 24 hour pool though I didn't take advantage of either. We checked in late night after a celebratory event at a nearby winery. We woke up a little hungover to the staff outside noisily wheeling carts back and forth over the walkway right outside the rooms starting early in the morning. We thought we would be able to leisurely start the morning but it was impossible to sleep in with all the racket. read more

We walked to Arnold Field and caught a Sonoma Stompers baseball game. Fairly walkable area which we enjoyed. The grounds of the Inn are beautiful! The pool and spa are open 24 hours and the pool area is beautiful and spacious. 4 instead of 5 stars because the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke when you first enter each time, but the smell did not hang around or bother our sinuses. I booked three nights here as a last-minute end-of-2022 vacation with my mom. I discovered El Pueblo on Booking.com and am very glad we made the decision to come out. This hotel is gorgeous, very well cared for, clean, and has every amenity you could think of as far as comfort & warmth during a winter stay in Sonoma. Breakfasts are served every morning off the main lobby; we loved having coffee in our room & appreciated the mini fridge. The chocolate croissants, quiche, and fresh blueberries were all standouts. Biscotti in the room was lovely! The bed was very cozy, the heater worked well, and the shower was spa-like - we even went to Target in Petaluma for extra-special toiletries, but the ones they provide are lovely as well. During the rain, we settled in with novels & enjoyed the vibes - if you're looking to relax, El Pueblo offers a true getaway. Don't miss El Molino Central up the road for the best food in Sonoma. Going to a wedding in Sonoma was a good reason to revisit Northern California wine country and try out some new places. The wedding party suggested El Pueblo Inn as one of their suggested hotels, so after reading some reviews and looking at the location (midway between the wedding venue and downtown Sonoma) it was my chosen hotel. Rates were in the $200 range with free parking and breakfast, but that doubles on Saturday night! It's a decent place, lots of families were staying there, so you do hear people next to you on all sides, and the decor and furniture are quite dated. Very friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and easy access to both the downtown area of Sonoma and the road to other places since it sits at the intersection of the two main roads. Thankfully they had ADA rooms and the parking is literally next to the room, which featured a comfortable bed, fridge (that worked VERY well), safe, some biscotti, and a coffee maker. They offer a free breakfast in the morning until 10am, but I didn't wake up early enough to even try it once during my stay! They had a beautiful fountain, small gym, jacuzzi, and pool, so if you are looking for a nice environment for your wine tasting trip, this place fits the bill. This is a nonsmoking place, with a designated smoking area in the parking lot. Lots of foreign travelers, so it felt very international, and I appreciated the water and coffee offered in the lobby. read more

Charming stay and conveniently located to the Sonoma Plaza. Was able to book a last minute stay over Veterans weekend. While the AAA discount helped, it is still $200+ a night. The room was clean and comfortable with a semi-private balcony overlooking the shared garden and pool. The inn is older, which means lots of charm but also not a ton of privacy. You can hear the neighboring rooms flushing toilets, opening closets, etcetera. The balconies are separated by a thin piece of lattice, meaning you can see/hear anything happening on your floor the length of the building. I have stayed here multiple times over the years, from the original adobe rooms to the newer section the beds and rooms in general have always been clean. I love their garden! Water pressure was great, towels were already in the shower (on an upper rack), good bathroom lighting (with night light), and great tilting vanity mirrors. Wardrobe had plenty of hangers. Mattress was comfortable. It's a little outdated regarding the decor inside the rooms, but I found it to be a cute little spot with all the things you'd need for an overnight stay. They also have 2 EV chargers. The grounds were charming and I'd love to stay here again. Location is perfect and just a short drive to downtown Sonoma. read more

My husband and I were in town for one night and made reservations here with low expectations. What a nice surprise and great value! We had a fairly spacious, very clean room with comfortable beds. Based on some reviews, we must have had a renovated room because we have no complaints! There were even a couple biscotti cookies by the coffee machine. When we made our way down to check out the pool, we were stuck by how lush everything looked with palm and olive trees growing tall and full outside our room. The pool area was kept clean and nicely landscaped. And while we didn't use it, there was a decent workout room available to use. And in the morning, a very nice breakfast was available with both indoor and outdoor seating. The coffee was very good and I was told the quiche and pastries come from local businesses. My wife and I visited Sonoma for the first time for our anniversary. We were able to book El Pueblo Inn as it had availability and the price worked. I'll start with my only complaint that I think your noise policy should be amended to After 9pm- especially on weekends. Getting chewed out at the pool at our age (40+) is a bit much. I honestly think it's because we were having a conversation with some other people there while in the hot tub, talking over the jets. I can assure you we weren't rambunctious. That being said, I do understand it can be challenging for the front desk to deal with guests calling to complain as well. Overall it was a great stay, hence the 5 stars. The bed was crazy comfy! The room was cozy and the fridge was helpful to have there. Parking was easy. The hot tub was nice. And finally, Elizet was FANTASTIC!!! I booked the hotel but forgot to make appointments for wineries. Elizet made some suggestions for us and even called a winery to see if they could squeeze us in - which they did! We had a great stay when we recently came to Sonoma for a wine release party. I want to be clear about this five-star review: this is not a five-star property. It is probably a two-and-a-half star or three-star property, that is increasingly good value for wine country visits that are becoming increasingly inaccessible to the common individual. The room was impeccably clean; the bed was fantastic; and the shower had good pressure. The folks at the front desk were helpful. Even the maid service sought to assist to secure our luggage when we arrived and the front desk was on lunch break. The breakfast, in my opinion, was uninspired - hard boiled eggs, quiche, boxed cereals, some medicore pastries (presumably from a local bakery, but this is unclear . . .), fruit. I've certainly had worse. Again, however, this is not a luxury property. Years ago, I stayed at a much nicer hotel in Yountville that served a breakfast with prepacked pasteries from Sara Lee. In that case, I was confused by the hostile indifference. I didn't understand why that property offered breakfast at all. Bouchon Bakery was literally a four-minute walk away with some of the best pasteries in Napa. If they did nothing else, they could have just catered from Bouchon. To be sure, I don't even care about breakfast. I offer this juxtaposition to emphasize that El Pueblo Inn in some ways over-delivers on its promise. It's not a five-star breakfast, but it's not a five-star property. Honestly, I would have expected something like prepackaged Sara Lee pasteries from a motel like El Pueblo Inn, and while these pasteries were not the best that Sonoma has to offer, they were far better than that stated alternative. If one wants to stay among the vineyards or have the bucolic experience of a rural setting, El Pueblo Inn is not a good choice. If one wants clean, comfortable, and affordable accommodations that serve as a base for Sonoma Valley (and even Sonoma County and possibly Napa County) exploration or if one is in Somona on business, it's a great option at an affordable price. Had we not been going to a release party in Sonoma, I never would have considered staying here. I'm glad I did. Its location is about a mile from Sonoma Square on the same road. We were able to walk to our dinner reservations, thereby alleviating the need to find parking or worrying about the perils of drinking and driving during our festive weekend. At its price point and for its class of service, El Pueblo Inn comes highly recommended. read more

Not my first choices of places to stay but room was discounted at $170 a night on a Sunday for a wedding. They raised their price to $370 on Sat for a 1 bed. The rationale was due to a speedway event. What a joke. Gave an additional star for the staff working there. They were super nice and hard working. I couldn't check the weather app. It was difficult to even write this review!!! 2) Only a some rooms were remodeled! (Refer to L.W's review) We were apparently put in the older rooms not knowing. And they are very different than the photos on the website. SUPER DARK! If they just painted the walls/ceilings white , (remove all the brown paint) and maybe added drywall to cover the brick it would be a HUGE improvement! Or simply change yellow paisley comforters to white. Possibly paint the wood cabinets white? It was really disappointing and deceiving to check in and see these rooms when the other ones pictured are what your were expecting. They appear to be the same price as well. Rooms were very clean, but it's hard to even tell because it was so dark, everything is painted yellow or brown. If they fix these things this could be a hidden gem to stay in. read more

This place was cute, clean, and quaint. Not a "5 star hotel" but 5 stars for what it is! The pool was awesome and the continental breakfast was a massive bonus each morning with freshly hard boiled eggs, quiche, fresh fruit, and plenty of carbs and coffee. Room service tidied up each day which is rare these days and was a nice surprise to come back to each evening! Only about a 15 minute walk from Downtown Sonoma square, the location is convenient. One tip is to call before checkin. We arrived and no one was at the desk with a sign saying they'd be back in 2 hours. We walked to town to get lunch so this wasn't an issue, but something to remember! read more

Had a meh stay here. Didn't have much time to explore the property, which looked nice, but was definitely disappointed in the room. We were assigned an ADA room that was not updated and didn't look anything like the photos of the room we had originally booked (which was supposed to be just the standard double room). The air conditioning was in the bathroom so if you wanted the room cool at night you had to sleep with the bathroom door open and then when you went into the bathroom it was freezing even though the room wasn't. The beds were fine. I went to the front desk on the first night to make sure we were in the right room since it wasn't what was originally booked, and they were very kind, but told us the only thing they could offer us would be for us to switch rooms for 1 night, have to check out of that new room and check back into the current room the next day. We didn't want to switch rooms just to switch back, so we ended up staying where we were. Thankfully we didn't have to spend much time there. Also, as many other people mentioned, the wifi barely works. read more

GLOWING review for this fantastic inn!! This is an old school local hotel which has gotten beautiful updates, and features a stunning, mature garden throughout the property. It's worth it to get a room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. The pool and hot tub are tremendous features. The gas fireplace in the lobby is really nice, and you can rent bikes at the hotel, which will be delivered from a local shop. Front desk manager Aranda, and night manager Dan went above and beyond to help me with an issue I had, and I am so thankful for their help and kindness. Good value for the money. Seriously, you can pay twice or three times as much just a mile down the road and be on the Square. If that's your price point, skip El Pueblo. However, for the money-saving route, this is not all that far from Sonoma Square, and good enough! Even better,it's pretty good! Our room was nicely decorated and had good furniture and a comfortable bed. The bathroom had been redone this century. The garden outside was lush and verdant. The swimming pool is great! Exceeded my expectations. Sonoma can be a very expensive stay. This hotel is affordable and very thoughtfully designed, and family owned. Family friendly. My mom and I had little getaway in Sonoma. We enjoyed everything about the El Pueblo. The staff were friendly and happy. The room was clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. It is of note that there is no elevator, so if you can't lift your suitcase, pack lighter. They will do their very best to accommodate your needs when possible. Nice little hotel at a good price. El Pueblo is an older motel but it's been thoughtfully updated and is a comfortable spot to explore Sonoma. The rooms have some style and color which is nice and we had no problems with heating in the room. The room was immaculately clean, fluffy towels and good bath items. The breakfast was pretty impressive given it's just described as a "continental breakfast" which led me to expect nothing but coffee, juice and pastries in baggies. It actually had everything you can think of from cereals, berries, fruit, dried fruits, coffee, juice, pastries (even gluten free options) and a plant based milk option. Anyone who complains about this breakfast is a troglodyte. Staff is very nice too. No real complaints except my soft bod didn't like the bed, it was too hard for me but hubby seemed fine. read more

Gorgeous and spacious room, beautiful bathroom, comfy bed and the best was the outdoor alcove to listen to the birds and fountain. This place also has a pool and gym but didn't get a chance to go. Pros:  Great location, cute room with some architectural charm (exposed brick, old beams, etc), beautiful courtyard, nice complimentary breakfast. Major Cons: 1. The Wifi was AWFUL. It barely even worked. It took forever to load a page, and often kicked us out. Emails stalled and didn't deliver until we were back in town during the day. 2. The walls are paper thin. We could hear the guy next door coughing as if he were sitting right in our own room. 3. One night the people in the room next door were extremely loud. We couldn't sleep. I called the front desk and nobody answered. I walked over to talk to the staff in person, and the front door was locked. A sign said, "Attendant on Duty, Please Ring Bell". I rang and rang, but nobody ever answered. So we were kept awake all night listening to the people in the next room, who were drunk, laughing and talking very loudly. When I talked to the front desk attendant the next morning, she gave us a $20 "Noisy Neighbor" discount, which seems inadequate for losing an entire night of sleep because the night staff weren't available when they should have been. read more

We were on the bottom floor and the noise proofing was so bad we could hear every move of the people above us. We have been there since we evacuated Oakmont Sunday night due to Glass Fire (one week). They have been SO accommodating and flexible and fantastic rate discount. Very happy with comfortable room.
