For those uncertain about kombucha, this is a great one to start with. While still packed with healthy probiotics, it's light and bubbly and doesn't hit you as hard as other kombuchas on the market. While this is an Indy based business, you can find a can in so many Columbus businesses, I've lost count. Stauf's and Fusion, to name a few. Not sure which one to start with? Update: rebrand! I went around the world and back trying kombucha where it was originally created (China) and can confidentially say I still prefer Circle Kombucha. Every time I talk to one of Circles team members I learn something new about the company that makes me love it even more. Things I didn't know but now do: - The founder is a type 1 diabetic who wanted to create a drink he could enjoy. - Their main focus is to educate midwesterners about healthy alternatives to soda because it's pretty much a food dessert and waist lines, much like our corn and soybeans, seem to be only growing bigger. - They transitioned into cans to be more environmentally friendly and lower the price point. I'm biased towards the seasonal flavors like Strawberry Rhubarb but you can't go wrong with Ginger Lemon. Catch them at farmers markets, most Indy restaurants, Needlers, and Whole Foods! Love being able to support a local business and get a really quality product at the same time. I picked up a case of pomegranate kombucha this morning and it was super quick and easy. I pulled into a parking spot and was greeted right away. They had my order ready and brought out to my car. The prices are comparable to "big time" kombucha makers, and even cheaper when buying in bulk. It's a win win! I like the variety of flavors and the fact that they're not overly sweet. Yum yum yum, I have only had this delicious stuff as samples at different events. I found it on tap in fountain square at turchetties (sp?) CC kombucha IG does an amazing job of advertising and making you crave some delicious kombucha! I finally asked where I could purchase it and they suggested fresh thyme. I appreciated the suggestion they had several bottles to choose from as well as 2 flavors on draft and little growlers. Love all the flavors that they have peach blossom, ginger lemon, blood orange and pomegranate. I hope they keep coming up with new choices, did you know you can make some solid cocktails with kombucha? If you follow the Instagram, they have recipe suggestions that haven't steered me wrong. Not sure why CCK wasn't on Yelp as I've written a review before for them, but happy to write another. CCK is a staple product in the Circle City (and beyond)! Fear not if you can't make it to them at a farmer's market where they're pouring, you'll find them almost nearly everywhere. Reasons to love CCK: - it's a different taste than your normal, national brand-like kombucha. It's lighter and a little tangier. A nice transition to the booch life if you're new. - their staple flavors are delicious. - they're local and the owners are so so so passionate about what they do. It shows in their products. - you can purchase growlers, bottles, or kegs from them (visit their website to find where they're located). They're even a part of Market Wagon, so you can have them delivered to your door! - a great alternative to soda (or beer/alcohol for me). Sadly my body doesn't like beer that much anymore, but CCK is a great way for me to still enjoy a beverage at local restaurants with friends without getting the stomach aches/pains like I get from beers. - their branding is fun! I thought I liked Kombucha until I tried Circle City Kombucha now I'm hooked on Kombucha. This "booch" (*thanks for the term Brady*) is delicious! I appreciate that it tastes more like a lightly carbonated soft drink rather then a vinegary fermented beverage. The best part is that it's good for you and provides a little caffeine boost. The boost is right around the caffeine kick you would get from green tea so it's not as strong as coffee but enough to get you over that 3:00pm slump without the jitters. Ginger & the grapefruit varieties are currently my jam. I would love to see Kombucha on tap in more places around town. In other cities/states I have seen Kombucha on tap at local breweries as a staple. I think this booch specifically would make a great addition to the local bar scene. I was introduced to Circle City Kombucha through the Yelp Event at Coat Check Coffee this past weekend. I am so happy about it! Not only is Circle City Kombucha made in Indianapolis, and made from their own blend of teas and all natural ingredients, but it is seriously the BEST tasting kombucha I've ever had. And that is saying a lot because I really do like kombucha. They refer to their product as "feel good soda" and it's so true. It's smooth and so much less vinegar-y than most commercial kombuchas. I highly recommend the Blueberry and the Ginger flavors!!! If you're looking for a local alternative to alcohol or soda, then Circle City Kombucha is a great option! I love that their unique flavors are widely available at vendors around the city and also at local farmers markets. You can even fill a growler of on tap kombucha at Needlers Market downtown. They have great flavors like peach mango and in the fall harvest apple was one of my favorites! I personally don't love soda but I like the carbonation and kombucha provides that while being really great for you. I don't know what it was about that concord grape kombucha but it really tickled my fancy. I had my first try at the Yelp Helps Week plogging event and couldn't wait to make a purchase. I regretably ordered a cup and should have gone with a growler. Komal was working the booth and welcomed all of the attendees with enthusiasm and knowledge. I was also able to try the lemon ginger kombucha which is what I typically purchase at Wildwood Market. I'm sold on Kombucha! I got to meet the masterminds behind this local business at a Yelp event and I couldn't have been more impressed. They are clearly passionate about their product and I really appreciated how much thought went into their process. According to Freddie, they started small back in 2015 and have carefully controlled the expansion of their business, tweaking details along the way. Being that this was my first experience trying kombucha, I'd say the tweaks paid off! I tried the blueberry, apple, and ginger - and was surprised that the ginger was my favorite! Their tagline is "Feel good soda" and although I'm not a soda drinker personally, I can see why that's their sell. It's got that bite/fizz of a soda but it's got probiotics to help digestion, too! I'm surprised to be able to write this review so enthusiastically. Kombucha has always lived in a foodie world beyond even my own pretension -- you gotta draw the line somewhere -- and I really had to be the mood for fermented scum in vinegar to go after nutrients I could have gotten more palatably in other ways. Not so with Circle City Kombucha, which manages to make kombucha that is exciting to drink, reasonably affordable, and to pitch it in creative ways I hadn't thought of. Kombucha as a healthier replacement for soda that doesn't sacrifice taste and experience. Kombucha as a mixer for cocktails. It's not just a sour yeast in a mason jar anymore. These guys know their stuff, and they are PASSIONATE about their product. They're excited to experiment, and they know how to make something everyone would like to drink. My favorite was their ginger kombucha, which plays like a tastier, healthier, and less sugary ginger ale. Then I went to a Yelp opening event for the wonderful Coat Check Coffee, and the Circle City Kombucha guys were there offering samples. We tried the pomegranate and it is delicious! It has a nice fizz and a little kick... it is so not what I was expecting! I wish I'd tried the other flavors now.... but I loved the flavor of the pomegranate one so much, that I knew that would be the one I'd be buying. Wonderful flavor, super friendly owners, and all the ingredients are sourced in the Midwest... let's hope they do as well as their kombucha tastes! I have found my new favorite local Indianapolis Kombucha! I have been a drinker of kombucha for about a year now. I purchase most of my kombuchas from Fresh Market and Good Earth, but have been looking for one with a bit more flavor. My favorite flavors are blueberry and ginger. I would also like to mention I'm not a huge ginger fan. When tasting the kombucha I even mentioned I didn't want to try the ginger flavor. The men working the table explained the difference of their ginger kombucha. The flavor is delicious!!!! I loved it!!!! I am on a search for some around town.
