I came up to Fairfield for the weekend, and decided to stay at the Circle thanks to Hotels.com. I got a great deal, and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the place was. I got a king sized bed with a sofa, they include giant pumps of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the bathroom. (Which actually smelt REALLY good) Had a flat screen tv, with a little sitting area that had a coffee table. There was also a mini fridge(really old, but still did the job) the bed was super comfortable, loved the bedding. I loved how it had a really cozy feeling, but it was in a hotel. I didn't try the breakfast, but not even a mile down the street there are TONS of amazing little restaurants. read more

This hotel was the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. Filthy beyond belief. Sanitary conditions they are not. They say they are pet friendly but they are not, they hate animals. Told me to keep my little dog out of the lobby. Manager opened the door to our room at 10am without knocking and yelled to ask when we were we were checking out. I knew we would enjoy our visit here from the phone call I made to book the room. I spoke with Jasmine who commented on my name and how interesting it was. Fast forward a full month, when we checked in, she said, "Oh, I remember you when you called. I love your name!" The staff was beyond friendly. I am what you call a "practical" traveler. I don't like to feel trapped when it comes to food and drink ( i.e.- your only option is room service for an $18 omelet), so what I adored about The Circle Hotel was that it : a) Has a fridge in the room b) Is across the street from a Stop & Shop supermarket c) They have their own awesome Diner that delivers to your room (or is a 3 min walk over) and is open till 2AM!!! d) They have a complimentary breakfast. Not to mention everything is there on Post Road if you take a left out of the hotel (wine stores, restaurants, etc). The beds were HUGE and so comfy and the room itself was really spacious and CLEAN. We went to a birthday party up the road, ordered from the diner on the drive home, picked up our food and were comfy in bed eating a hamburger at midnight (oh, and had leftovers the next day thanks to the fridge). They also had easy checkout at 11am that I could do with my phone. If business or anything else has me in this area, this will be my go-to spot! read more

We stayed at the Circle Hotel for 2 nights recently. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Unfortunately after coming back after midnight one night, my kids couldn't get into their room. The key cards didn't work and the maintenance couldn't get in either. They were given another room so that they could sleep. I understand that key cards not working is beyond the control of the front desk, but there needs to be solution to get customers into their room when it doesn't work. read more

I live right around the corner from this hotel. My family has stayed here many times and they are always pleased with the cleanliness and friendly staff. Speaking of friendly staff, they were nice enough to allow us to take pictures before the Red and White Ball in their lobby. Stayed there for a night with young kids (5 and 3) on route to cape cod from Washington DC. Room was quiet, clean and served it's purpose. Shower was stopped up and very slow to drain. Other than that the room was perfect and combiner to highway. read more

The accommodations are ok, and the continental breakfast was pretty much what you would expect. Room was clean. Two things that seem odd though. Both safety issues. First, they are apparently doing construction on the 2nd floor walkway, and look at all they have connecting a steel I-Beam to a support post. One tiny C-clamp. (See pics). Someone is putting a lot of faith in that little guy. Second, the peep hole in the door is just a hole. So you can see right into the room from the outside. Overall, my family of four had a good experience with this hotel. This hotel has a very modern feel and I would recommend for couples as well as families. The kids will love the heated pool and Foosball table in the lobby. Staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast was your typical standard fare, muffins, cereal, waffles, yogurt, fruit, but staff was constantly replenishing food as it was getting low, which was great. The room was clean, of decent size, and the beds were comfortable. Was a hint of musty hotel room smell, but not bad. Hotel has a supermarket across the street, which is convenient. I stayed at the hotel in 2019 for a graduation. I booked it again in advance for another graduation this year. Due to Covid the hotel is closed for the dates I reserved. They will not refund my money. This is a business that I am sorry to say deserves to fail. By the way the rooms are just okay for the price. Stay somewhere else. Emergencies happen! We got stuck in Providence Rhode Island with a dead car. The dealership called us with a projected repair time, and I immediately called the hotel. We had no way to get there for our one night stay. "Rick," the Manager was not at all flexible about letting us cancel. Oh, we could cancel, but would be charged the entire amount anyway. It was "policy." Way to build a customer base! No way I would ever recommend a hotel that doesn't understand when emergencies come up. I offered to give the name and number of the dealership that has our car, but Rick wasn't interested. Way to go Rick! read more

This hotel is a scam. We came to visit from the West Coast and got a charge $200 a few weeks later stating we smoked in our room? I'm 9months pregnant! We are now home back on the West Coast they will not return any of our calls. Once this happened to us a few of the Bridgeport Locals we met told us that hotel commonly does this to out of towners. $200 is not enough to go forward legally to get the money back that is why they keep it at a low amount. It is really upsetting when places like this take advantage of people visiting the area. Make sure you pay cash here but they probably won't let you so they can charge your card when you leave :( read more

We found this Inn on Hotel Tonight and were so pleased with our experience. We checked in after midnight and I was greeted by Cici with a warm smile. The room has been recently remodeled and we were impressed by the added comforts. They have a large soft blanket at the end of each bed. The pillows were nice and plump and the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom is very nice, the fixtures that they chose for the remodel are very stylish. I wouldn't mind having a bathroom in my home look like this bathroom. They serve a free breakfast from 6-10am that was really nice. They have a waffle maker, bagels, yogurt, fruit, pastries and of course hot coffee and juices. It was well attended the gentleman made sure that everything was well stocked. 15 minute walk to Jennings Beach. The hotel is sparkling clean and the staff is helpful. Linens are good quality, beds are very comfy (We have two queen beds). Beach decor is updated and tasteful. No peeling paint. Grounds, including pool, are well manicured. In addition to beach location, easy walk to excellent restaurants in fairfield ( less than 1 mile). Average hotel; prices are high for what you get. It's the little things .... only 5 hangers in the room ....? No extra pillows or blankets!?! Charging $35/day to "rent" bicycles!?! We arrived on a Friday and stayed for 6 days. The weekend was great but during the week things got progressively worse. A different type of clientele started staying there with people smoking outside our room and having conversations late into the night/early morning. Additionally they had some company workers stayinging in a block of rooms and they just kept their doors open and partied in the hallway. Our last night was the worst as the people we say hanging outside of their room at about 10 pm were up all night and they were still out at 4:30 am the following morning when we had to leave for the airport. There were also arguments or loud talking throughout the night. We definitely believe there were some drug deals going on. We were very disappointed that the hotel staff did not make rounds of the grounds to make. Sure no one was loitering around the rooms at all hours of the night. The rooms were clean and bottle water was provided every other day or so. The breakfast was basically the same every day. On the weekend they had a ham, egg, and cheese biscuit which wasn't very good. read more

This hotel was surprisingly nice and comfortable. We stayed here for the Gathering of the Vibes festival in nearby bridgeport. Our rooms were very nicely updated with that cute new england feel. Everything was clean and bright and fresh which i did not expect from a cheap roadside motor lodge. The pool area was a little oasis and it was so relaxing and inviting. The continental breakfast was fine. U can make ur own waffles and of course there was standard pastries, muffins, bagels and coffee. However, they have recently gone through a huge room renovation and I was delightfully surprised. The only positive experience was the front desk person Denae and she was only there the day I checked in. My sister died and I booked a suite in the main building for 3 nights. First and foremost there is no elevator and the stairs have no risers which was quite dangerous. The room was nice but the AC was not working properly and it was very warm even at 60 degrees. I purchased 2 waters my first night there, after that there were none available for sale, only soda and Gatorade. Housekeeping made beds and replaced towels, that's it....our coffee cups ,etc were left alone and we were shorted wash clothes daily. The final complaint is that some expensive cosmetics we're missing when I went to pack. I told management and the response was "I will let housekeeping know and will mail it to you if they find it!" We absolutely loved the Circle Hotel! Came for a weekend getaway out of NYC and did not know what to expect when booking an inexpensive hotel a few weeks before the Fourth of July, but our expectations were exceeded! The Circle Hotel is exactly what we were looking for -- modest accommodations, clean room, more than enough shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, small fridge, comfortable lobby space with foosball table and nice staff. The pool is modest -- locals have access to the pool with a membership so the crowd was a bit wild for the holiday (lots of children and inattentive parents) but as far as other hotel amenities, everything was perfect. 20 min walk to downtown Fairfield with lots of restaurants and cute shopping. Another 20 min walk to Jennings Beach but we preferred Fairfield Beach about another 10 min away. Thanks, Circle Hotel! read more

The staff is courteous, mild breakfast provided. Most importantly my room was very clean both times i stayed . I stayed on the backside by the renovated pool area and it was as quiet as the woods!. Tahir and Allison were accomodating, even to a last minute business traveler. I realized in the morning I had forgotten my shaving cream and needed to leave for a client meeting in the morning and Tahir had some for me at front desk. Terrible Disappointment! Made reservations here in March for a stay in June. Was taken in by the photos of the renovated rooms. Mine was not renovated. Two out of the four lamps in the room did not work - the on/off buttons were "missing". There was a leftover meal in the refrigerator. And when I came back from dinner, ants were massing in the bathroom. I had to put a cover on the pillow and slept in my clothes because I was afraid of bugs there too. Stains on the rug - UGH! When I asked for compensation, the manager refused "because I didn't call the desk (at 11:30 p.m.) and "give them a chance to straighten things out". Offered me a "complimentary stay". When I said I had made a one-time visit to the area, they didn't care. Finally after arguing with the manager supposedly will receive half off! Here he was prepared to basically give me $100 for a night I didn't want instead of $100 for the night I didn't have! NEVER go here unless they guarantee in writing one of the renovated rooms. The separate building I was in had not been renovated and had shirtless old men drinking on the balcony. Not a pretty sight. read more

I booked the room 43 for two nights. When we got to the room there was a problem with the toilet that was running water non stop and it was very loud. In the next morning we were woken up by a laundry machine or dryer machine that was maybe above our room and was super loud as if it was in our room-this was like 7-8am. They woke us up that early on a Saturday and there was no complimentary coffee in the room-PS there was a coffee machine there but no supplies. Disappointing. Oh and the pool was packed meaning no social distancing at all (funny bc they were not serving breakfast bc of social distancing issues ?????) Then I went to the office to make a complaint (About people talking loud at my door) and the employee basically told me it was my fault that I didn't make a complaint before so he couldn't do anything about my complaints. I originally sent this comment to the hotel a week ago. No response from them at all. The note says it all: We stayed in your hotel May 21 - 23. On entering room 14, we were overwhelmed with an unpleasant smell. Initially I thought it was a pet odor or stale smoke or maybe both. The open window and air freshener on the window sill were signs that you were trying to cover it up. I called the front desk to see if we could move to another room. The women working the desk came to our room and defiantly announced that she didn't smell anything and that there were no other rooms available. We spent as little time as possible in the room over the next three nights and each evening returning to the room we were struck with the same unpleasant odor. Our checkout date couldn't come soon enough. We are still traveling and our next hotel was a refreshing, odor free experience. Unfortunately, I am reminded daily of our stay in your hotel because all our clothes have been permeated with the smell of room 14. I fear that our suitcases have been contaminated as well and will need to be replaced. What a horrendous and unacceptable experience. read more

I have never given a bad review, BUT here it goes. This bad, no terrible, review is so well deserved. Cannot say enough bad things about this terrible MOTEL. It is definitely NOT a hotel. Lets start with the mediocre at best rooms with too many extension cords attached to the outlets, poor lighting, poorly vented bathrooms. Or how about the feelingas if there were bugs crawling all over you after sleeping on their beds. Or how about the fire department coming at 2:54am, sirens blaring and hotel fire alarm going off for 1/2 an hour, because some guest decided in their drunken stooper to light up and then set off the fire alarm. When we called down to the front desk three times regarding the disruption we were HUNG up on. The contental breakfast was lame at best. Oh and if you stay for multiple nights, don't expect your change of linens to take place before 5pm after calling numerous times. ANd then when I went back to the room the same torn sheets were on the bed, so I had to call again and watch the sheets be changed. I was told they were understaffed. There were only 10 rooms rented on that rainy Monday. So poor planning by management trying to save money on staffing Oh and how about the ambulance that arrived Monday for the 84 year old HOARDER that lives in the hotel and asked to be taken to the hospital. That should make parents feel REAL comfortable having their children stay at this MOTEL. Oh, and their restaurant, the Circle Diner. I have never seen a Manager speak so poorly to his staff. Yelling and saying derogatory things. We felt bad for the staff. Totally uncalled for and simply rude. Id rather stay in my car than stay in this lousy establishment. Got toddlers? This place was manageable to toddlerproof - room was contained and had plenty of space for a pack n play or cot, and the gadgets (coffee maker, phone, etc) were easy to move to the top shelf of the closet. There was no tub (just shower), and the bathroom door had a lever handle with an inside lock, so we put a towel over the top of the door so kiddo could not lock himself in. The front door did open to the parking lot which was not ideal, but we had a rear-facing room so we were not facing the busy street. Kiddo could open the front door's lever and disengage the deadbolt and flip the flipperstopper (clearly, the technical term), but we secured the flipperstopper with painter's tape that we could break it open easily but kiddo could not. Bed was soft and sheets were a bit rough. The heater was loud and jarring when it went on and off, but we brought a sound conditioner (dohm) which took the auditory edge off. Room and lounge had a clean modern nautical aesthetic. Lounge did have a big exposed gas fireplace, so we could not hang out there with kiddo. Breakfast was basic but plenty of kid-easy and healthy options. Delicious ripe pears! read more
