I just leased a 2026 Hyundai Palisade through Andrew Feldman at Circle Hyundai and honestly could not have asked for a better experience. If you've ever dreaded walking into a dealership, Andrew is exactly the kind of person who makes you wonder why you were ever nervous in the first place. He was knowledgeable about everything, answered all my questions clearly and patiently, and helped me get a great price without any of the usual back and forth. What really stood out was that he never once made me feel pressured. It felt more like working with someone who was genuinely on my side than a typical sales experience. On top of all that, he was just a pleasure to deal with. Friendly, personable, and completely straightforward throughout the whole process. The Appointment Was Just a Suggestion, Apparently Circle Hyundai's service department seems to have redefined what "appointment" means. I was scheduled for 11:15 AM. They warned me it "may take up to 2 hours." Fair enough. But when the clock hit 1:15 PM and nothing was done, I had to track down both the service writer and the manager to figure out what was going on. After that conversation? It still took them another hour to actually get moving. So what exactly were they doing for the first two hours? And why does it take a customer confrontation to make things happen? If the work doesn't even start until you complain, what value does the appointment have? Just call it a drop-off and spare us the illusion of schedule. And they don't actually wash your car, they give you a chit. read more

The service department at CIRCLE Hyundai are thieves and crooks. They will try to take advantage of you. I had an issue with them two years ago charging me two $200 diagnostics, within a week and I never wanted to return, but unfortunately, I had an issue that legally only Hyundai could fix. I told them the issue and even gave them instructions on how to fix the issue but I was still charged $200 for a diagnostic. Whatever that's fine I pay it. They have my car there all day after booking an appointment at 10 AM. Raul calls around 4 o'clock and said that they could not re-create the issue but while they were looking, they found that my transmission was going and that it it would be about $7000 to fix. That's when he asked me if I would like to be transferred to the sales team to get a new car?! I asked is the car totaled? He said no it's not totaled, but it is going. I said no thank you I will pick it up don't touch it. I call back my mechanic and he says nothing wrong with the transmission and said I should bring it to another Hyundai dealership. I ended up bringing my car to Towne Hyundai in Denville. They took a look around and found the issue and fixed it for about $600. Didn't charge me for a diagnostic. When it was finished, I asked if there was anything about the transmission? They said no and had no idea why CIRCLE Hyundai would say that. How is that possible coming from another Hyundai dealership? Yes my car has a lot of miles on it but there was no reason to say I needed the transmission replaced to fix a braking issue. Believe the negative reviews on this place. I have had Hyundais for 15 years and I will never buy another Hyundai again because I do not want to deal with service department. read more

Do NOT have your car serviced here unless you have a lot of time and patience. Apparently they can "make an appointment" but they cannot "keep an appointment". Then they keep your car for days without any updates. If you call, you get transferred to service, which just goes to voicemail .... every ... single.... time. I'm writing on behalf of my Mom, who was completely taken advantage of by this dishonest dealership. It's unfortunate that car buying for many dealerships continues to be a game. If you don't do tons of independent research and aren't willing to fight, you will be ripped off. Especially at Circle Hyundai. My mother was worried that her car was getting too high in mileage, which it was not. But she is 71 and works multiple jobs to support herself, so she carries a fear of having her car break down. And sadly she shared this fear with salesman "Kevin" who she told me "was a nice guy." Kevin helped to feed into her fears and "helped" her get out of the car she was driving and into a new lease on a 2025 Elantra. Per Kelley Blue Book search of her mileage and VIN number, Circle gave her roughly half of the value of her car. I called that day to stop the deal from going through but was told "Kevin was busy" and would have to call me on Monday. This was on Saturday afternoon. We spoke the following (Monday) and I told him that the deal was not fair, and a quick crunching of the numbers and comparison with what other Hyundai dealers were offering would show that my Mom is overpaying by about $150 per month. I asked them to cancel the deal so that we could make a better one. This is when sale manager "Vincent" told me that it's too late and that "her car is already gone." I told him that he should reimburse my Mom some money for overcharging her. That's the least he can do considering she will be overpaying for the next 36 months. He offered me $100, and told me "if that'll make you happy" and that "maybe I could take her out to dinner." He proceeded to hang up on me. I spoke again to salesman "Kevin" who concluded that the whole thing was actually my fault because I didn't accompany my Mom to the dealership to help make the deal. As disgusted as I was by this response, it was in a way satisfying because in an accidental moment of honesty they admitted that they will rip off a 70 plus year old woman if she doesn't bring her son. Car buying is not easy, but there are plenty of choices out there. I encourage anybody and everybody who reads this to avoid places like this. They rip you off and then rub it in your face. It may not be an easy thing to do, but you can find honest car people, who at the very least will pretend to respect you. I don't personally know the DeFelice family and I don't have anything against them. But they have some downright slimey people working for them and if they encourage this sort of thing, shame on them. Do your homework. I'm not the first person to complain about this place. I have already referred the dealership for a fraud investigation and will continue to fight until they present my Mom with a check reimbursing her for some of the money that she will be losing. The only thing that saved this place was the customer service associate Miguel because he sympathized with me living an hr away without my car working. Aside from him, I was thoroughly disappointed. Gave them my car Monday, they kept it until Friday (I called a few times just to be told they didn't touch it until Wednesday). They returned my car to me a mess (trunk belongings scattered and the plastic cover for the fuse box laying on the car floor. I initially went in because the car started to break down (or limp mode) while I was driving (very odd for a 2021 that has given me no problems). I ran it myself to find a P1B25 code. Reading the discharge paper, they turned the check engine light off rescanned the computer to find nothing then gave it back. Soo all that time and nothing got fixed then?.. got it. Maybe they gave it back because I only have 3 months left on my warranty and they're hoping I come back after. read more

They are all about profit. My elderly Father is ill, unable to work and can no longer drive. Sadly, we had to unexpectedly terminate his lease agreement. Circle told me they were unable to purchase his car w/ less than 7000 miles. The one salesman told me they needed a death certificate. However, Hyundai Finance told me Circle had that option. Hyundai is notorious for the fees they add on. Big part of their profits. Documentation fee-$428, Registration Fee-$311 Title Fee-$85 Total- $824 in unnecessarily high fees. Bend over. When you see an advertised TV deal like the $5,000 off any Hyundai, it's for a financed car. That usually means a high interest rate, so you're not saving much if anything in the end. You would think they would want cash buyers. Hardly. Their attitude changed when they saw I wasn't financing. If you don't have cash, maybe your bank has better rates? I would suggest Freehold Hyundai. Much better deal. TV ads are costly. Do your homework, do the math, negotiate, don't be intimated by their finance BS or the William Macy character in Fargo "let me talk with my manger" line. read more

I called and spoke with Ken this morning when they opened and discussed a used car they had and figured out pricing and explained that im not local and would have to rent a cargo van to get there to purchase the vehicle and even verified everything with him a few times prior to paying for the rental to make it there and set up a scheduled time to come and buy the car. And I showed up a hour and half before the scheduled appointment and they had literally sold the car as I was sitting there and he kept looking at me and said oh yeah there not buying it your good. Well then he vanished and came back and asked if I was interested in any other cars and said no I just rented this cargo van as a one way rental to buy the car and drive it home that is almost 2 hours away. We'll they sold the car to the other people and then wanted to stick me with a couple other cars that weren't even comparable, and said I was crazy to not want them instead. Well before I acted a fool I said I would not be doing business with there company because the trust was gone and now im out several hundred dollars and my entire day gone to waste. I was definitely treated like garbage. And lied to many times. I would take your money elsewhere unless you want to do business with people who have zero respect or integrity. Pretty disappointed with the car buying experience here. Let me start by saying that if you don't already know this, Hyundai and Kia were notorious for so long about the sleezy and painful process of buying a car through their dealerships. But I've read a lot in the past few years that they are trying to clean that up. I bought a Kia Telluride in 2021 from a different dealership and was overall satisfied with the experience. My experience with Circle Hyundai was disappointing on a few different fronts. My salesman was Craig, and I don't really have any gripes about him - he is doing a job. He was nice and helpful enough. First, they are charging 4k over MSRP for Palisades. They will tell you it's only 2k, but they are adding running boards to all of them and charging another 2k which is preposterous. Second, the best rate of financing they offer is 6 percent on a new car. Now, they will tell you that they just follow Hyundai Financing and that they don't make the rules... fair enough as it relates to a dealership gripe. But their fees are ridiculous. Hundreds of dollars in "doc fees" and 600 registration fee. At the end of the day, they let me walk over a difference of 30/month, which they easily could have made up by waiving their extra 2k over msrp. This was after I agreed to put more money down than I wanted, and were going to basically let them rob me on my trade. Didn't even let the manager or owner know and wasted 3.5 hours of my time. Yes, wasted, because I told the salesman the rate and monthly payment I wanted over 72 months, and he said "don't worry they will make it happen" -- to only be told by the "finance" guy that "if I knew that was your number I would have never tried to run the deal". My advice to people reading this - find a dealer that values customer loyalty and isn't taking advantage of a fluid market by price-gouging. There are plenty out there, you just have to look a little outside the area. I would not return to this dealership nor would I recommend it to anyone. read more

Many people dread heading into a dealership despite how excited they are to get a new vehicle. Any car owner would be able to recall countless hours negotiating, signing paperwork, and waiting . . . and waiting . . .and waiting more until finally you make a deal and get your car in roughly 8 hours time. This is NOT the case with Circle Hyundai. I was able to deal directly with Andrew Feldman via email to get everything prepared for my arrival, and I was literally in and out of the dealership within an hour driving my new car home. This has been the BEST experience I have ever had with purchasing a car (I've purchased 8 myself and countless other with friends/family). It was actually so easy to make a deal and be on my way that sometimes I have to double check to make sure I actually purchased a vehicle - the transaction was that smooth! The vehicle I purchased was available at four of my local dealerships in Northern NJ, but every time I reached out to my local dealers I either didn't get a call back, no response to email, and no solid offers that were guaranteed. I found the same vehicle at Circle Hyundai and I figured I had nothing to lose so I reached out via email. Little did I know how amazing it would be to deal with someone at this dealership. Andrew rapidly responded to my inquiries, secured my deal, and all that was left was for me to travel an hour down to their dealership to finalize the purchase. Yes, I chose to go over an hour away to Circle Hyundai because of how responsive Andrew was in our communication. The other dealerships make you feel like you're not even a potential customer. Andrew was so dedicated to making sure that our communication lines were open, and that I was treated like a potential customer - and not just another number or sale. You can really tell the difference about how this is a "Family" owned dealership rather than some corporation without high morals or values. From the moment you walk into the doors you are greeted with people that are committed to making you feel "at home" in their dealership. This isn't your typical scenario where you walk in and feel like you're about to go through the wringer, you get a sense of trust and a feeling that they are going to treat you as a customer should be treated. I am now going to be bringing my family and friends to Circle Hyundai (and their other dealerships), despite the distance, all because of the AMAZING experience I had which would not have happened if I didn't get to deal with the most competent and communicative salesperson, Andrew. read more

Car dealerships are pretty much all the same. Some suck more than others but this purchase was short and sweet. We wanted to give our daughter a graduation gift that was useful so we opted for a 2016 Hyundai Sonata for her as a surprise. There was a 2016 just off lease with 8500 miles on it. After wheeling and dealing and questioning the charges for "nitrogen filled tires" , BS administration fees, & prep fees (on a used car, yeah you have to clean it) we got them down to a reasonable price and walked out of there in under two hours. Our salesman was pretty good; not too many managerial consults. I would consider going back. I don't remember his name because we bought this in February for her graduation in May. Needed to keep it a secret until graduation. Didn't want to leave a review then, lest she saw it. No dealings with the service department so I cannot comment on that. read more

I purchased my car April 2022 after leasing it. I never had any issues until it was serviced by circle Hyundai the following January. They serviced it and 4 days later oil leaked everywhere, I broke down in the middle of the road, and the engine needed to be replaced. They claimed it was "just a coincidence." Since then, my engine has overheated on. 3 separate occasions for the same issue. Each time, they insist it has nothing to do with what they did. One time they "fixed" the problem and two weeks later the engine overheated again. Zero accountability and no attempt to record the problem. Would definitely not recommend Circle Hyundai. read more

My mother (a senior citizen) leased a 2020 Hyundai Elantra from Circle Hyundai in August 2020. Late September, she received an engine recall notice from the manufacturer, and brought her vehicle in following. Upon inspecting the vehicle they told her it failed tests related to the recall and informed her the vehicle can not be driven. They offered no insights in how to resolve this aside from "call the manufacturer", and deflected any responsibility for the vehicles they sell. They told her it's a Hyundai problem and that they're just the dealership not Hyundai which is a given however you're a representative of their brand when you sell their products. They would not so much as drive her to her place of work which is minutes down the street nor made any effort to get her into a loaner. My sister, my mother and I have contacted them daily since, to get my mother into a loaner and they continue to complain to us of their position in this matter. My mother is a senior citizen without many resources. My sister and I work full time and help to support where we can. All of us are stretched very thin as it is, and now with absorbing costs for ubers and time associated with fighting the dealership, Hyundai and the legal aspects associated with this, it has created a very difficult time for our family. The dealership, who so eagerly profited from my mothers purchase originally, have provided the worst level of service I have ever seen. It's gorgeous and drives like a dream! The whole experience was fun and friendly. The entire sales team is courteous and patient. I am not a shrewd wheeler-dealer. Skyrocketing prices: the price they were asking for a 3 year lease was 70% of the total purchase price. That's ridiculous. I feel bad for the sales people there. No wonder there was no customer there. The part I especially didn't like, however, was how they feel entitled to mix business and politics. A sales person (some entitled Alpha male) made an inappropriate comment on the New Jersey governor for the $7.50 tax to recycle the tires when returning the car. This sales guy is entitled to his opinions. But did it occur to him that many of his potential customers may support the environment and the tax actually? Buyer's beware. I wanted to give zero stars but that's not an option. Completely shady car dealer. I was told by my car salesman Ryan Del Vecchio that I would be paying $31,539.00. He said that he was going to give me under the MSRP(33,300.00). On my contract they charged me more then sticker. The sticker price was $34,474.00. They charged me $34,935.47. I went back to the dealer to deal with the manager, Brian Downey to discuss the contract that was not correct. I tried to explain to Brian that this is not the deal that I was promised and I would like to try to work this out. Brian told me that there was nothing that they could do about it and that the deal was already done. I bought my car late Saturday afternoon. I went back first thing Monday morning so that they could fix what they lied to me about. From there I called Hyundai finance to see if they could do something about my deal and then I was told that the deal hadn't even gone through yet. They also put GAP insurance in my financing which MLA states is illegal for military veterans. The last thing that bothered me about my deal is the odometer disclosure statement. The statement reads 25 miles. When I purchased the car it had 100 miles on it. Everything about this place is shady. I have never dealt with any car dealership like this before. DO NOT buy from Circle Hyundai. *****UPDATE 5/13/21*****I JUST WANT TO STATE THAT REACHING OUT TO SOMEONE DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM! After writing this review I got a phone call the following day from Joe DeFalco who is a manager at Circle Hyundai. (He was actually the original person who I spoke to when I went into Hyundai and he sent me right to Brian Downey. He said there was nothing he could do and that maybe Brian would be able to help me.) He told me to give him a shout to see how he can help me realistically. From there I told him that I am seeking legal council. He called back on May 6th and said that he spoke with the owners to see what options they had to help me out or they would take back the car. The problem is they have never followed up. I reached out to Joe on 5/10/21 to ask him are we still going to work this out. He said I'd like to talk about it, yes. On 5/11/21 Joe asked me do I want to come by this week. I said yes. Today 5/13/21 I still haven't heard from Joe as to when to come in to solve this matter. Circle Hyundai just replied to this review a few hours ago. The reply is inaccurate since Ryan has only texted my phone once since this whole ordeal. And I'm sure he was told to do so by his managers. I'm 48 years old. Every time I've bought a new car, my salesperson has always contacted me the following week to thank me. This didn't happen from Ryan. I'm on here writing this because I am very unhappy with Circle Hyundai. They have not fixed the deceit on their behalf. Hyundai has horrible service at Circle Hyundai in Shrewsbury, New Jersey and corporate office. I asked about a gas cap and dealership gives attitude whole time then tells me he won't give part number because he doesn't want me be able to buy somewhere cheaper. Then Hyundai corporate office rep Victoria tells me nothing they can do. I just have to try again at dealer or randomly call other dealers and hope for better results. They advertised a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado for sale. 146,000 in great shape. Drove down from CT to check it out. Took it for a local test drive and gave it a visual inspection and everything . Salesman told me one owner traded it in for a Silverado, one owner Carfax report. decided to purchase. Less than 20 miles into my trip home on the highway the transmission started to shift up and down. Wanted to turn around but the dealer was closed. I knew it wasn't good. took it to the local Chevy dealer in CT and it needed a new transmission and other things. Called the dealer and they said you bought it As Is and we can't help you. They said they had run it though their shop but didn't disclose any problems. They basically slapped a couple of tires on it , washed it and put it up for sale. No help whatsoever !!! Absolutely horrible experience. We've bought/leased 4 cars from Circle over the last 15 years and we will never be back. Previous experiences were whatever, but what do you expect from a Car Dealership? We finally learned that we do have a choice, and the choice matters. We went in to turn in a lease and finance a Palisade. The promotion was $5000 off the dealer listed price, but when they showed us the numbers it was only $3500 off with a 4% APR (despite our credit score being over 800). When I asked what changed, our sales person had to get the manager who literally told us we can accept it or leave. All we wanted was an explanation and a conversation, but he had no time for that and he kept walking back his own statements. "It's $5000 off the price listed on the car", which is purely not true because the price listed on the car (and on the website) was $1500 less than on his paper. Words were exchanged and we stormed out at which time our sales person turned to him and said "why did you do that". When I talked to another dealership they were finally able to explain the situation to me and explained how Circle raises prices above list price to make you think you're getting a good deal. They also said Circle refuses to work with other Hyundai dealers in the area, despite the other dealerships working together. Long story short, I ended up at Freehold where I got a better deal, they were able to get me the color combination we wanted from another nearby dealership, and they treated us like human beings. Great deal here. I leased a 2022 Hyundai Elantra. Im not great at negotiating. I got there Thursday during my lunch hour. I told the salesman Ryan that i was interested in leasing (i found out you shouldn't tell them that). I informed him i had excellent credit and i was interested in the trim that offers wireless apple CarPlay. I had no preference for a specific color, i just didn't want a red one. He showed me a 2021 Elantra. He said I could test drive it myself. I asked him to come with me because I wasn't familiar with the area. It was a real smooth ride. I came back and did some numbers going back years old his boss a few times. I eventually told him I can't make a deal that day since i had to go back to work. We made aa follow up appointment for the next night. He called me the next day to confirm. I told him im willing to come in but we need to work on the numbers. He called me back with an offer that was in my range. So i cane in and leased tge car. He delivered it to me on Monday. Great car. This review is about Hyundai customer service and there corporate office. I was told 3-5 days call back. Never received call back I had to call back to follow up. 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe 44k The only issue is as follows. No one would help with following problem I had the vehicle 9 days and there was a radiator leak. Had vehicle towed, received a phone call from freehold Service stating there was debris in the radiator. I called the Originating Dealer, Circle Hyundai, Possible the debris was in the radiator,after driving it for eight days the debris came loose and caused a leak they were no help I reached out to customer service no help. I was told since the debris was in the radiator it was my responsibility. $1300 for repair. There is a design flaw with the grill, the holes in the grill are to big. There are reviews on google about this issue. Hopefully there will be a recall Be aware there is no spare tire. I asked what happens if there is a flat. I was told by Circle Hyundai to call road side. I would be towed to nearest dealer. I asked what happens if Saturday night. No one has this answer, roadside, service, customer service or corporate. I was told possibly a lift ride up to 20 miles. If your more than 20 miles be prepared to spend approximately 100$ Simple answer is to buy a spare, Hyundai does not have one available. Vehicle to new. Customers should be made aware NO SPARE TIRE and Hyundai has no plans if you get a flat after business hours. I have 3 years with the current vehicle remaining. I will be going back to freehold Hyundai for service. I have been leasing for over 20 years never have I experienced such bad corporate and customer service or like Hyundai. I should have listened to the reviews and stayed away. But they had the vehicle i wanted in stock so i gave them a shot. BEWARE! I dealt with Andrew who was a nice guy but maybe a little inexperienced in the business. The sticker price online was not the price they were trying to move the car at. They marked up the vehicle about 5k at the dealer which you wouldn't have known till you arrived to look at it. I told Andrew i could swing half there mark up on the vehicle i totally loved but you have to meet me in the middle. They had a 2k charge for "appearance enhancement" which he claimed was a pin strip yet to be added to the vehicle. A 2k pin strip... i then let him appease my vehicle which i got low balled on. I attempted to negotiate the pin strip ordeal away and negotiate my trade in up but he wouldnt budge what so ever. I feel this was were his lack of experience and customer service came into play. I got the "chip shortage" thing which i was shocked to get cause just a weak earlier a family member purchases a nissan, got an amazing deal and didn't once hear "chip shortage" out of anyone! Andrew didn't meet me anywhere on this deal and assumed we were hundreds of dollars off in monthly payments. I was never asked again what i was putting down. So how could he assume we were hundreds off. And apparently he relayed this to his sales manager cause when he came over to thank me for coming in he thought the same. Very disappointed in this visit. If they just worked with me they WOULD HAVE DEFINITELY SOLD A VEHICLE. But they didn't. I was a salesman. This was a poor experience all round. read more

I am a huge fan of the service department here. The writers are all too shelf pros with a great "bedside" manner. I normally have fairly new cars and my issues are never catastrophic however hearing other patrons interactions it seems if they have really bad news they break it very gently. I set my appointments in the Internet which is the way to go. The car is treated with respect when you roll in the door and always cleaned out and vacuumed when you leave. I did not buy the car here, I attempted to find a salesperson willing to locate this hard to find model and color combination. The guy I met was a total failure sales kid and he no longer works here. You can't blame the dealership for a rookie sales guy letting a serious sale walk. I went to the big dealer in Toms river who reluctantly located the car with lots of effort from me pushing them and my industry insider VP of Marketing relative calling the General Manager. No break on the price though. The big dealership in Toms River has the worst service department in the area which clued me into Circle Hyundai.
