I brought my car in for an oil change, new tires, and an alignment. Before service, I had some mild steering wheel shake at highway speeds. After the service; which cost over $1,000, the shaking got significantly worse and now happens at 30 mph. I reached out to the service department as soon as I noticed the issue. I was brushed off by the service desk, and never received anything from management, despite multiple requests. I've followed up by email three times over the last couple of weeks and haven't received a response. I expected better service and accountability from this dealership. Schwartz Mazda charged a higher price than what the service advisor said would be charged. They also charged me for a new part. However, they removed a sensor from the new part and kept it for themselves (even though I paid for it). Instead, they transferred my old sensor from my old part and installed the old sensor into the new part. The service advisor then tried to justify this by saying the new part did not come with the sensor. However, this was directly contradicted by their own parts guy who ordered the part. They then offered a car wash and vacuum the driver side floor. However, they did not vacuum anything and instead they stole my premium car mats. The manager refuses to investigate and just chalks it up to...well no one else complained about theft, so it must not have happened to you. Absolutely unbelievable! read more

The service advisor, Blake Everett, completely misrepresented the price of the vehicle service, and overcharged us over his verbal quote. Schwartz Mazda distributes flyers claiming customers will receive a link for the online estimate to approve and a video. We never received any link or video. We did not even receive a written quote prior to Blake presenting the credit card slip to sign. Instead, end of the service, Blake presented the credit card slip to sign. Then after that, he had us sign the quote, but he covered it and just pointed to the signature line without letting us review it. It was only after we signed both that he ever relinquished the quote. We had trusted his word and he took advantage of it. In addition to being overcharged, there are items missing from our car. We are so angry and do not trust this place. read more

We bought 3 of the same cx5 Mazdas from this dealership simultaneously. Two stayed in NJ and both had the service warranty. One of them they refused to honor when it was transferred to a sibling even though we were reassured it would transfer. The third car was a lemon with the smart city braking system error that you will see tons of complaints about. The car was taken in multiple times and they kept it saying "oh the car has to be kept clean." Let me tell you, when you have 3 of the same car and only one is being run through the car wash on the regular, wiped down with Windex every day and still have the warning light every day with no resolution, it sucks. Especially because you lose access to cruise control and all the expensive electronics that the upgraded model had to offer. I suggest you read up on this smart city braking error and it should deter you from getting a Mazda. I thought it was ridiculous that they refused to assist. Thankfully I hit the five year mark and move to Toyota because these cx5s are garbage and the warranty is terrible. read more

Our daughter bought her very first car at Schwartz Mazda last week and I have to say it was the most wonderful buying experience for all of us! She very happily left with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra with low miles that was in great condition. One of our favorite things about Schwartz Mazda was there were absolutely NO hidden fees. After visiting so many other dealerships and getting to the end of our visit just to find out they would be adding on so many unadvertised and most times just plain made-up fees to the final sale price... THIS WAS REFRESHING. Also, can't say enough about our salesman Noah Anderson. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. After the sale he even took the time to walk our daughter through how everything in the car operated.... and keep in mind this was a preowned non-Mazda vehicle. Therefore, he had to teach himself the workings of the car before passing along the information. General customer service a 2 out of 5: We arrived just a couple of minutes late for our appointment but were left waiting at least 30 minutes before a sales associate tended to us. Neil Rosenstein our salesman, 5: We were finally approached by Neil who was very pleasant, understanding and not at all pushy, which we really appreciated. We were very disappointed that we drove down 45 minutes to the dealership just to find out that the car was not Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) although it had been advertised as CPO on their website. Neil readily said the price would need to be lowered. Although the vehicle drove well, we were specifically looking for the caliber that is expected of a CPO. There were no other vehicles in our price range so it ended up being a wasted trip. We did not get to the point of negotiating a price so I am not able to speak of what their additional fees are. read more

Only two Mazda dealers in a 30-mile radius of my home have good reviews: Schwartz Mazda and Island Mazda on LI. I then visited the Schwartz website, and I guess I must have entered my phone number and email to get information on a car. What a mistake!! Since that time, I have been deluged with emails (from multiple people) and phone calls (from multiple people) at Schwartz. I've asked them to please stop contacting me, that I will call them when I'm ready to buy a car. The emails stopped, but the phone calls did not. The operation at Schwartz is so messed up that nobody talks with anybody else!! There is no way that I would purchase a car from this place ... they are completely disorganized. Had a very bad experience trying to buy a car from these folks. Neil seemed nice when setting up the deal, we negotiated to a fair price, and he told us to fill out a credit app to "show good faith" so he could put the car aside for us. We did so, and all was good, so we confirmed the car was still there at around 4pm, and said we would leave at 5pm to be there by 6:30pm. When we got there Neil was gone and some hilariously not-ready-for-a-real-job kid is sent to us to tell us that a couple across the dealership just bought the car. I asked how could that be because we were told it was being put aside for us. He said you didn't put anything down so we didn't hold it. That is total garbage - I WOULD HAVE put something down if it was at all indicated that would have ensured the availability, but we were told otherwise. Then he told us that the couple had been there for 2 hours, which means they could have prevented us from driving from PA to Jersey and wasting an evening and tolls and gas, but instead chose to be the typical car salesmen you always read about. Think twice or maybe even three times - I understand getting a sure deal from their perspectives, but if you want to build a good reputation, you need to treat customers well and communicate. These folks, in this super-simple task, failed and wasted my time and money. I wonder what it's like to actually really do business with them - likely to be better or worse?
