STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND READ THIS--Portillo's at 7200 W Ray Rd in Chandler Has Just Redefined…read more"Heaven on a Plate" with the BIG BEEF DIPPED and That CHEESE SAUCE... OMG! I've had Italian Beef before. I've loved Italian Beef before. But nothing--NOTHING--prepared me for the transcendent, jaw-dropping, flavor-explosion experience that is ordering the Big Beef DIPPED at this Chandler location. If you haven't done it yet, you haven't lived. And if you've had it elsewhere but haven't had it here with their cheese sauce... well, buckle up, because you're about to discover your new favorite thing on the entire planet. From the second you walk into Portillo's on Ray Road, you can smell the magic--crisp sport peppers, rich au jus, and that unmistakable aroma of slow-roasted beef that makes your stomach growl instantly. But the real moment of truth comes when you look that server in the eye and say: "I'll take the Big Beef, DIPPED, LOADED with cheese sauce. And I mean loaded." Watch their face light up--they know. They understand. This is not just a sandwich; it's a ritual, and this location performs it with reverence. Then it arrives. Oh. My. Goodness. The bread is drenched--and I mean perfectly, gloriously drenched--in that deep, savory au jus, so every inch is saturated with rich, beefy flavor. It's not soggy; it's luscious. It's a sponge for joy. And then... the cheese sauce. Sweet, spicy, velvety, liquid gold--it's like someone took pepper jack, dreams, and a touch of heaven and whipped it into a creamy, molten ribbon that cascades over every millimeter of that dipped bread and tender, shreddy beef. The first bite is not just a meal--it's a religious experience. The crunch of the giardiniera, the pop of a sport pepper, the warm, juicy beef, the cheese sauce pulling in golden strands... it's an OMG moment so intense you might actually forget your own name for a second. You'll hear yourself making sounds you didn't know you could make. You might cry a little (happy tears). You might order a second one before you've even finished the first. And here's the thing--the Chandler location executes this with flawless, almost artistic precision. The line moves fast, the staff is smiling, and they don't skimp. They don't hold back on the beef, they don't drizzle the cheese sauce like it's an afterthought--they PILE IT ON with pride. You can tell this team lives for these moments. They're not just serving food; they're delivering pure, unadulterated happiness. Even the atmosphere feels electric--like everyone in the room knows they're about to have their day made. You'll see strangers nodding at each other in mutual respect over their sandwiches. You'll hear "OMG!" echoed across the dining room (seriously). And when you finish that Big Beef Dipped--cheese sauce glistening on every corner, not a drop of au jus left--you'll sit back with a food coma smile so wide it hurts, already plotting your next visit. Bottom line: If you are within 50 miles of 7200 W Ray Rd, you have no excuse. Go. Right now. Order the Big Beef DIPPED with EXTRA cheese sauce. Thank me later. And maybe bring a napkin--because that cheese sauce is so good, you're going to want to lick every last drop off your fingers. Five stars? Try FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS PLUS A STANDING OVATION! This is the best sandwich I've ever had in my life, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to be this good.

I always go with the beef dipped and this time I also got a container of the au jus to dip...such a great sandwich! Wife decided to try the burger based on others who report that they make an exceptional burger and we discovered a fantastic burger! Espo's in Chandler is one of those local gems that keeps us coming back. On our most recent visit,…read morewe ordered the Pueblo Alto Burrito with added guacamole--a carne asada California-style burrito--and it was absolutely fantastic. My wife can be pretty particular when it comes to carne asada, so she was a little hesitant when I suggested we share it. After a few bites, she couldn't get enough! The carne asada was flavorful, tender, and clearly high quality, and the burrito itself was packed with great ingredients and balanced flavors. The added guacamole was the perfect finishing touch. As much as we loved the burrito, Espo's has become a go-to spot for our family because of their Taco Tuesday special. Their 10-taco plate for around $12 is an incredible value, especially for families. We love that you can mix and match between carne asada, carnitas, ground beef, chicken, and shredded beef, making it easy to get something everyone will enjoy. The restaurant also has that fun, authentic hole-in-the-wall feel while still being a well-established local favorite. It's the kind of place that locals know and love for good reason. If you've never tried Espo's, I highly recommend giving it a shot. Great food, great value, and a true Chandler staple.

That's when Chandler Blvd was still two lane road and called Williams Field road. We enjoy Espos for Tacos Tuesdays. We arrived a little before 7pm and waited for about 5 minutes to order. They called our number about 5 minutes later. Pretty efficient service as there was constant traffic. They offer 10 street tacos for $12.50 with choice of ground beef, chicken, shredded beef, carnitas or carne asada on Tuesday's. We ordered 10 carne asada tacos to share. They offer a nice self serve topping bar that includes a generous selection, three sauces, pickled red onions, cabbage, lettuce, limes. Freshly made corn tortillas give the tacos a home made flavor. Although the tacos are small, sharing 10 provided a satisfying meal for us. They have table inside and on the patio. We opted for the patio as it was nice weather. Mexican music played in the background was pleasant and set a relaxing mood on the patio. Highly recommended!

Everyone that I have encountered at this location has been friendly. The burgers are decent. After seeing some reel on IG last year, I started ordering them a bit different and it made a huge change. I will never go back to ordering just a cheeseburger. Order this: #2 meal or just a cheeseburger if you don't want the meal +mustard fried +whole grilled onions + whole raw onions +side of chilis - squeeze onto the burger Im not sure why they always ask if you still want pickles when you get it mustard grilled. This time, I tried it without the pickles and I think I prefer it with the pickles. Price has gone up a little but isn't bad compared to other places. I think it was around $10 for a meal. They really need to change up the fries. Burger craving was satisfied though

I used the app & it was confusing as to how to pick the food up. I went inside because it said something about grab & go. I'm pretty sure I was to go through the drive thru, which I would have preferred. I had to stand in line behind multiple people placing their order. There was a special for $6.99. It included 2 new sliders, the garlic Parmesan crispy chicken sandwich, with a 5 piece mozzarella sticks & a drink. I got an unsweetened iced tea. The sliders were okay. They didn't have much sauce on them. They were dry without dipping them in ranch dressing. The mozzarella sticks were good, but the marinara was not good. It was really sweet. I wouldn't get a drink again since the unsweetened iced tea tasted like it had some sugar in it. It wasn't sweet enough for sweet tea, but didn't taste like unsweetened ice tea & I was the one who filled it. I'm sure I'll go back, but just get some different things.
