Worst BBQ Takeout Ever! Ordered a 1/2 rack, hush puppies, green beans and garlic mashed. 4 of the 6 ribs were burnt black and could not be eaten. Hush puppies were very small. Beans ok. This place puts on great biker events and the food is tasty. I personally am obsessed with their cornbread and I normally am not a fan. The inside is a little small but the outside is larger. This was our first and last time going here. The food was awful. The collard greens were like eating rubber. Garlic mashed potatoes had NO garlic taste. This is a super cool place on a great piece of property. We love that you can sit outside in shade or in the cute dining room with booths, high tops, or regular tables. Beer: cans and bottles. The pork quesadilla was excellent as were the baked beans. The chicken leg was very good. The corn bread wasn't served warm and was a little too sweet for me. The Hudson Heat is a good sauce. I've been a couple times, but apparently never checked-in or reviewed them! The staff is awesome! They're always nice, upbeat, and patient. The place hasn't been crowded when I'm there, but I also take away and haven't eaten there. The dining room is nice size, bright, and has 2 huge TV's. The smoked wings are tasty and do have a mild smoke profile. The moist brisket on the other hand has no smoke profile. In fact, in a blind taste test, no one would pick it as being smoked or from a BBQ place. It's more like sliced Jewish brisket. It was tasty, very moist, and made a good sandwich, but zero smoke ring or flavor. It had consistent visual and textural characteristics. It wasn't bad at all, just no smoke profile. The baked beans were absolutely doctored canned BBQ beans. The additional onions and meat pierces definitely elevated them and I'd pick them again. I can't say the same for the coleslaw. I love a great BBQ place and this place qualifies! Ambiance is half honkey tonk and half diner depending on which side you choose to eat on. Walk up ordering with an extensive menu of everything you would expect and a few creative items such as a Smokin Burrito and a brisket-mac wrap. I had the pulled pork sandwich lunch special which included any side item for 8.99. I selected the Southern potato salad. Note a drink was not included and $2.99 seemed a tad steep for the iced tea. The sandwich was excellent. The pork was piled almost 3 inches high. The pork was moist, smokey and tender. The serving of potato salad was very generous and tasted great. The butters that don't require refrigeration they only had cold so it was very difficult to put onto the cornbread, which was not warm when we got it. They don't have any honey butter, so we made our own, but it took a long time for the butter to get melted. The potato salad was disgusting. The food was just plain gross overall. Required heavy sauce for any flavor. Witnessed kitchen staff coughing away and not washing hands. I waited to go twice to give it a fair review. The first time was better. I mean that the brisket is better than the chicken. The guy rushed me through my order, and when I sat down with my food I realized I ordered the wrong thing. They have an a-la-carte menu that I didn't see because the guy was asking me what my sides would be. I didn't want sides. I felt like I had to buy sides, because that's typically how these places work -- very few have an a-la-carte menu. If I had seen it, and been able to order from it, this would likely have been a four-star review instead of a two-star one. Liz brought my food out. Do you know how I know her name? It was on the receipt. She did not come over to ask me anything, ever. I wanted to take my bones home for my bone broth (you can think it's gross; it kind of is), and there was no way to ask for a to-go container from the people intent on staying too busy to help. Even though it was just me and one other person dining. So I emptied my glass and took the bones home. Some places are like that Jack Handey "Deep Thoughts". "I carry around weights in case anyone asks me to help them with anything. Then I say, 'Sorry, I can't! I have these weights!'" Well, that's pretty much what this was. The two people who worked there were too busy for 50% of their customers. I left no tip. I feel that two stars is generous. They ruined a good cabbage with the coleslaw. If you are an American Patriot or a US Soldier/Veteran, please read my review!!! My Son, is a Soldier, in the US Army and was home for Christmas. He left on January 4th, to return to Fort Moore (Benning). He wanted some great BBQ before he had to go back so, his last night my boyfriend took my son to Circle S BBQ restaurant and placed a togo order. He was really looking forward to enjoying his ribs!!! Unfortunately, the ribs were mostly fat and VERY grisly, and the chicken was raw inside and incredibly greasy on the outside skin. It was so bad that he couldn't eat it. It really broke my heart. I just wanted his last meal at home to be perfect! I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the MOD. The young lady that answered said she was the MOD. I shared with her exactly what I have shared in this review. Her response was not at all what I expected. First, she said that their ribs are pretty grisly and that you have to really bite hard because they are not fall off the bone ribs, they are smoked. I was completely shocked! She just told me that she is aware that the cooks serve substandard BBQ. She then said that I could bring them back and swap it for something else. I explained again that he didn't want something different! He wanted good ribs. She told me that if she gave him new ribs, they would be exactly the same. I couldn't believe that this was a manager saying these things! But what REALLY upset me was what she said and did next. When I told her my son is a Soldier and he was leaving the next day, she actually said, "Oh my God, he is a US Soldier. You're going to use that!" And then she hung up on me. I was shocked and VERY angry!!! I just could NOT believe what had just happened. She mocked my Son's service to our country! A couple minutes later, she called back, suddenly trying to be nice. I told her that I had given her an opportunity to male it right, but she chose to be completely unprofessional. He still did not want something else, especially after my conversation with her! I believe in supporting small businesses, over chain places so I looked up the owner. I sent him a private Facebook message, hoping he would reply. It's been four days and I have not received a response from him either. I've been in retail management for 15 years. If a customer had a bad experience, I would want to know! I would want to fix it! All I wanted was for her to apologize and make it right. Give my son great ribs or refund the $32.99 we paid for the meal he could not eat. That's it!!! Our bill was $54 for 2 meals! That's a lot of money, but I didn't care. I just wanted my Son to have an awesome last meal at home. We will not be dining at Circle S BBQ ever again. Not just because we had bad food. Your run-of-the-mill BBQ. Nothing bad, nothing spectacular. Everything is just passable. The pork was what you'd expect, though lacking on seasoning. The sauce was straight out of a bottle (which is a running theme here). The brisket was sliced nicely but lacking on seasoning as well. With both the pork and brisket it's easy to tell that only the bark has any kind of flavor to it. The mac and cheese was straight of a can they found in a high school cafeteria. Really thick, average cheese sauce on some elbow macaroni. The coleslaw was the same; out of a bag and tossed in some coleslaw sauce out of a bottle with no added seasoning. No pepper, celery seed, nothing added to it. Tasted like something you'd be able to serve safely at a hospital cafeteria for low sodium patients. The corn bread was Jiffy out of a box. No butter added to the crust to make it flaky, just straight up in and out of the oven and served. If my review seems harsh it's because of what they're charging for this non-inspired food. Also all the workers seem like they're forced to be there. Either they hate their job, don't care or don't make more than minimum wage because none of them seem to care very much. A side note to the owners/managers: As someone who has managed a BBQ restaurant and made the menus and price points, you'll do better charging for the price of product to profit ratio as apposed to just throwing out random numbers you feel you should be profiting. Overall, it's a generic BBQ joint. Hard to believe they really use their smokers and don't just use liquid smoke. With a little work and proper employees it could be alright. read more

This BBQ joint is located in the space of the very first eatery I ever ate in when I FIRST came to Florida way back in 1984. Back then it was a Chinese place called Eng's. Now it's a Barbecue place that holds it's own. Mom and I had driven by this spot earlier in the week and I made a note to come back with my guys. They're open until 10 on Friday, 8 on Sunday, so there's some play in the hours. Check before coming. It has an "old west Chuck wagon" look to the outside with some theming, a nice inside area and a large, covered outdoor seating area with fans because lawdy it gets hot here! We got there around 7 on Sunday evening, perused the large menu board and noted the were out of Ribs & Wings per the printed sign on the door and register. That's ok, didn't want either. The Husbeastie chose their fried burrito thing, and my Beau and I both had their brisket platter with Mac & cheese and yellow potato salad My guys both got unsweetened iced tea to drink and I got one of their special sodas, a bottled Frostie Blue Cream soda. Cream soda, only blue, for nostalgia sake. Our food didn't take too long to come out, and during that time the guys explored their sauce bar. **Note to patrons** chose your pumped sauce carefully, there is a limit to one side cup of sauce per plate, and an up charge of $0.50 for each additional one according to the sign. They have their regular bottled sauces, my favorite is a Carolina mustard sauce and theirs was good! The brisket was thick and tender with a nice smoke and crust on it and the fat was so flavorful. The Mac& cheese was kinda disappointing to me, it tasted like Stouffer's, and that's meh. The potato salad was good. The Husbeastie thought the burrito was "interesting" but did not finish it.
