My favorite place on Nantucket! Best beer in New England! Atmosphere is great, live bands, families with kids, dogs running around everywhere, cornhole, food trucks! And you can bike to it on the bike path. And there's a bus that runs from town. I recommend this to all my guests who stay at the Nantucket hostel. read more

TOURIST TRAP. Ashamed to admit I fell for this. After spending most of the week enjoying Whale's Tail at dinner and hearing everyone rave about this place, I took the bait and ventured out. The ride out in the "free" van smelt like an ashtray, so much so that I wished I brought my inhaler. Strategically placed in the van was the tip basket. The first of many money begs from Cisco. We then handed over $20 per adult and $10 for my son for the 'vineyard' tour. This is actually a tour of the parking lot where you get to look in a few barn doors and get to sample a thimble of what currently is not selling ( grapefruit infused beer, were they serious?). The wines they saved tasted like they were infused with balsamic vinegar. I did hear a lot about the fine single malt whiskey....however to taste that would be an additional $50 for a separate tasting tour. Once complete, we headed over to the food court area where they charge more per fluid ounce of beer than most of the bars in town. Really, they were looking for $6 for a small plastic cup, about half a pint, of beer or you could spend $8 for their 'specials'. Then ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for my son and a scallop roll for my self for an additional $25. I understand high prices on the island, but this whole set up is a tourist trap. The beer is not even brewed on Nantucket...it comes from UTICA, NY (fun fact I learned from my vineyard tour) and the wine grapes come from WASHINGTON STATE (another fun fact). Oh, there was also mor Cisco branded merchandise than at Disney or the airport. I would recommend that you stay in the real Nantucket and avoid this tourist trap. It was that disappointing. read more

Winter on Nantucket can be harsh and if you are lucky enough to live here year round, this is a great place to visit at happy hour on a Friday around 5 P.M. when there is a wonderful young crowd with everyone bringing potluck. I got to sample:Venison, Guacamole, Cheese and Jalapino dip, Prosciutto and air dried pears- wonderful youthful offerings. The nutty ale, th stout, the wine is so good! On a cold winter's day this is the best kept secret on the island. read more

Its a tourist trap. The beer is more expensive than in a bar and this is the brewery! Only two tours per day and they won't add tours no matter how busy. Not kid friendly... No playground, no field, just food trucks and alcohol. And lemonade for $3. We really wanted to love this place but we left after we all had just one overpriced beer. read more

It might be due to the fact my girlfriend and I were visiting Nantucket during memorial day weekend in the middle of some yacht race, but Cisco was packed to the point where it was difficult to move. The packed-ness isn't really the breweries fault - but it certainly took away from the experience. We walked into the brew room - waited patiently to order a nice stout or porter, just to find out they were out, but for some reason they still had plenty of their winter beer......the bartender was less than pleasant in explaining they were out of the stout and porter. Apparently if your not psychic they treat you like an idiot here.... Foolishly we ordered the winter seasonal which tasted awful. I've drank beers from many countries and breweries, and can usually find some redeeming quality for any beer- but there were none for this one. We decided to try out the distillery tasting room. Again - waited patiently in line and saw on a chalk board hanging above the bar there was a $10 spirit tasting offering. What better way to try their entire line up and walk away with having purchased a few bottles?! After being ignored at the bar for about 10 minutes and having every other patron served but us - I asked for the spirit tasting and was informed by the bartender that "its a little busy for that". I am rather understanding - but this was a bit much. I wanted to buy a few bottles to bring home, but its a little hard to make a blind judgment without going through a tasting run - which was a clearly advertised offering. I ordered a "dahk and stormy" which is a bad South Boston accented version of a dark and story. It was the worst alcoholic drink I ever had - and I've had some bad drinks. At this point - we felt so let down that we tossed our drinks and left. I came excited to try out the beer and spirits - and left disappointed and let down. I will never go back, and will never buy their beer again. read more

They have really taken this place to the next level. Great place to take the whole family (they have corn hole for kids) ice-cream stand, make-shift food truck (currently service blue fish pate, and oysters), live music, ample picnic seating - wait...I didn't even get to the booze! Their wine has come along way over the years and continues to be refined (in a positive way). Strongly encourage their pinot noir (at $22 a bottle it's a score). I could tell you all the beers that I like, but that would be a waste as you really need to try for yourself. Note, they close at 7pm, so it's best to arrive early (also parking can fill up pretty quickly and DO NOT park on the main road, as you will be ticketed and or towed, and who the hell wants that to happen after several drinks?) It's a great day-trip to get out of town, take a tour of the facility and kick back and relax. If this isn't for you, then I have no idea why you are on Yelp or reading this. read more

Ah, the bliss of a fresh made local beer. Oh, wait, a fine aged local wine? Oooh, how about some locally made vodka? Cisco has it all. One of the only existing winery/brewery/distilleries, and found on a farm, this rustic little spot is amazing. Walk in to the very homemade bar/shop area to enjoy a tasting of any of the beers, wines, champagnes, and take home some huge bottles or a growler of beer, excellent wine, and fine spirits! I go here every time I'm on the island, just to pick up some bottles of what is seasonal. I've recently learned to love wine, and Nantucket Brewers make a great one. They also make the renowned Triple 8 Vodka. You can find Whales Tale Pale Ale at many a Boston restaurant, and you should order it! Support the local little guy! But a visit here is great. Really nice folk working here, its very down to earth, very New England. And the beer is just GREAT! read more

Great atmosphere with live music and lots of people watching. Thought I was on Martha's Vineyard for a minute because of the vibe from this place. Easy place to bike to if you are staying in the heart of Nantucket. We rented bicycles and parked them on the several bike racks available for customers. We spent half the day there just listening to music, drinking beer and wine. Super dog friendly as well. read more

GREAT beer if you can get to it, as they say. Go. Quickly. Wd recommend leaving lots of time to just hang out there in one or more of the three bars or at an outside table or beside the awesome food truck. And have the scallop roll. It's beyond amazing. Definitely still love this place, but it wasn't quite up to par this summer. Normally you can find a selection of interesting beers - this year it was primarily the stuff you can find anywhere. Also, we generally leave with a few fun t-shirts and hats - this year there wasn't much new to catch our eye (especially for guys, the hats and t-shirts are mostly the same as years past). Fingers crossed they aren't getting too big / successful and losing innovation / creativity. read more

NOT kid or dog friendly, at least not during the summer high season! This place is a crowded frat party. Too packed to walk, nothing for kids to do, and dogs will get trampled. Saw a few kids trying to play cards by the porta potties, because that was the only available spot on a Sunday afternoon. And $10 cover?? Really? read more

I honestly could not have had a worse experience at this brewery. Greeted by rude staff the entire time and bad attitudes this place was a disgrace to the ideal Nantucket attitude. The tour was a waste of money with a guide who made it seem like it was her first day on the job. Ended up leaving halfway through. The only thing that saved it was their mediocre beer. And that's pushing it. One star. read more

A few years back this was great now its a rip off. They charge you 10$ to get in, the prices of all the food have gone to levels that are gouging, and the bathrooms are disgusting. When I suggested they keep the bathrooms a bit cleaner if they want to charge 10$ cover the person at the gate just gave me a stare like he was offended. The guy at the exit was more receptive. They also started making liquor but the mixed drinks are sloshed out and not very good. To bad it was much better a few years back now if you show up with your girl its 20$ to get in, 7$ a beer, 20$ for a fried scallop roll. So 54$ and you just got a snack and two beers. So bring moola and good luck finding a seat when you want to eat your food. Greed quickly turns a great place into a weak experience. read more

I LOVE beer. seriously... Cisco puts out some great beers and when I found myself on Nantucket this week this stop was on top of my list. We went hoping to spend the afternoon with Cisco beer, lunch and listening to some music. Unfortunately there is little if any food. They did have a raw bar $22 for 4 oysters, 4 clams, 4 shrimp and they had a small pizza oven. They miss the boat, we were ready to relax and stay for awhile, instead we had a beer and left. There should be a BBQ pit with burgers, hot dogs, sausage etc. or anything to help folks settle in and have a nice lunch with a few beers. Sorry...but a few taps and tons of merchandise for sale just didn't do it for my crew. We still love the beer. but the brewery experience needs work which is scary considering the captive audience they have. Maybe they truly don't want to be a party or fun place but rather a stop in kind of place where people check it out and leave. I can't attest to the actual brewery on Nantucket, but I took a pizza-making class last night at the Boston Center for Adult Ed with featured Cisco brews. Not only were the beers all delicious, the pairings were all perfect. Our Cisco rep really prepared for the class and taught us all a bit about the beers, the process, and the theory behind the pairings (usually complement, but occasionally contrast when one element of the pairing is really strong). What nice people. What delicious product - with philanthropic ties. I can't wait to visit the brewery. :-) read more

This is a stop you have to make on your visit to Nantucket. The beer is amazing and Jim play great tunes as he takes you through a flight of 10 mostly delicious. Went on a Monday afternoon during the offseason. Cisco was a recommended stop on my vacation by a friend and a bartender at a restaurant on the island. I took an Uber there as it was about 2.5 miles out of town. Upon arriving I didn't know where to go, there's a few buildings with no clear sign to any of the bars, which were tented in. I ended up going to the Cisco distillery for beer and getting a flight. Normally I like being served all the glasses at once so I can go through and taste, but the bartender kept reusing the glass, however not rinsing it. She gave a brief run down of each beer served and was very polite when I asked for a sample of something that wasn't included in the flight. The back doors were open to an outside garden where dogs are welcome, however the dogs were also walking into the bar. Overall I personally was not a fan of the beer, I think the brewery was a bit overhyped, but I can definitely see it being very busy during the tourist season as there's another parking lot in walking distance. read more

This was THE WORST restaurant/beer garden I have ever been to. First of all when you entered, the man at the door was rude. Secondly, The food was horrible as the fish was not cooked. Third, the tables were dirty. Fourth, all the workers had an attitude and were unfriendly. Fifth, it was overpriced. I recommend not going there. read more

Millies has a truck parked right by the entrance to the tasting rooms so now you can have awesome blackened tilapia tacos with awesome beer or booze. We almost fainted with joy at the discovery. Best of both worlds -- off-leash dog-friendly AND food close enough to enjoy. read more

Went on a Friday (9/6) and had a good time. Local musician was good, lots of dogs wandering around and a ice mix of people. Beer was good. Didn't have any food, although there was a raw bar I thought about trying. We didn't take the brewery tour - for $20, really? Very disappointed to arrive at Cisco Brewers to find a $10 cover charge. WOW. It would be one thing if the musicians were top rate (not) and the beer was cheap (not) but they weren't. $10 is outrageous and we won't be back. 2013 had huge crowds. With the new charge in 2014, highly doubt the same crowds will stick in 2014. Thanks Cisco Brewers for ruining a good thing with greed. read more

Horrible experience. It was mobbed with loud, drunk people. It was like a frat party. We went with our 14 year old daughter and had to turn around and leave immediately. Perhaps Memorial Day weekend is a bad time to go, but I have no plans to try again. read more
