I stepped inside and was surprised by how empty it was. And yes, items like jerk chicken, plantain, and cabbage were options to top my lovely bag of multigrain chips with. The staff were nice and trying to figure out the price point for my bag -- it was kinda big LOL. Once we got that figured it out and I made my choices, I was on my way. I got back in the car, and it was quite a nachos treat! It was heavy, so I had to eat some of it down so I could go -- I should've brought a tray haha. It was delicious though! The jerk was on the sweeter side... can't really say I got any heat. The other elements were all great though -- I especially loved the plantain. I'd like to come back and try other things... The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The only downside to our visit was the live band performing inside the restaurant. While the music added to the atmosphere, it was so loud that we couldn't comfortably hear the people at our table or have a conversation. The suya was missing the suya spice, but I think not all West African styles is to use the spice. For the style of suya it was, it could have been a little more tender but it wasn't bad. The jollof was Senegalese and this was my first time having their Jollof. I really liked it and wish I had more because it was good! My favorite part of the sampler were the wings and the pepper sauce. Loved the flavor of the wings and the pepper sauce was just spicy enough, which I prefer, not anything that will make you sweat. Now the lambchops were perfection. Seared lamb chops, maafé peanut sauce, herbed couscous. The sauce was delicious, the lambchops were cooked perfectly, and they came out very hot where you could see the steam. They were worth the wait. For dessert, we got the Bissap Sorbet, which was Hibiscus-spiced sorbet, ginger crunch. It was light and refreshing. There is a drink menu online but while we were there we were told they didn't have one yet, but I think if you go in and ask for a drink listed online, they probably would be able to make it for you.
