What the plantains look like on their website
    Makayle H.

The food I ordered was nothing like described on the menu! I ordered the 1/4 chicken, jollof rice and fried sweet plantains. Please tell me if that's jollof rice or fried sweet plantains. I was also told it would be an extra 10 minute wait for the jollof rice! Needless to say, the pictures on the website and menu are very misleading! One picture on their website is literally stolen from the restaurant Nandos!

Came to this location for the first time. Hubby and I ordered takeaway of a whole chicken and 2 sides (fried plantains and french fries). Total came out to approximately $33. What's Hot - Menu. There appears to be something for everyone, even possibly vegans. They have salads and side dishes that are veggies with no meat additives. - Quality. The chicken is delicious! It's incredibly tender and moist. It's not dry. The skin is pretty tasty and the meat is not overly salty. My personal observation is that this meat is more tender than the rotisserie chickens you get from grocery stores. - Portions. A whole rotisserie chicken is big enough to feed 2 people or more, to include leftovers. In our case, there were no leftovers. - Side dishes. Their fried plantains are super delicious. There's a slight char taste that isn't overly powerful, and is a nice touch. It's a side dish that hubby and I would get again. - Service. Very good. When we put in our order, their staffer told us that they only had specific side dishes available that night. Fortunately, the side dishes we wanted were the side dishes they had available. That their staffer took the initiative and informed us before we put in our order was much appreciated and notable. When their staffer gave us our takeaway order, she also advised us to hold the bag on the bottom, because the food was heavy. Again, kudos that she gave us a helpful tip. - Location. Conveniently located to other shops, restaurants, and businesses. There's also a decent interior space to dine in. - Parking. There's a parking lot in front of the restaurant. What's Not - Menu. It's possible the menu in the restaurant appears to have more options than the menu listed on their website. For example, there are chicken tenders on the menu in the restaurant that do not appear on their website. - Side sauces. When we put in our order, the cashier listed that honey mustard as the side sauce that we would be given. Instead, the sauces that came with our order was ranch and thousand island. We were disappointed, especially because we like honey mustard. - Price. A whole rotisserie chicken with two sides is listed as approximately $31, which is on the high end. An additional example is that they have a dish of beignets that come with sweet beans and a porridge for $19. To be fair, this is not a dish I'm familiar with, so I'm uncertain whether this is a full meal, dessert, or side dish. However, it does appear on the high end to me. - Side dishes. Hubby and I prefer our french fries slightly crispy on the outside, but soft and fluffy on the inside. Rather, these french fries are just crispy and not soft on the inside. I recognize this is a matter of personal preference. - Acoustics. We arrived around the typical time for dinner, approximately 6pm. The inside seating area was pretty empty, even though their staff were working on other orders. There's music playing inside, which is not a bad thing. However, sound reverberates easily inside. As such, the loudness of the music carries, which can make it difficult to hear and carry conversations with others when you're inside. Hubby and I are uncertain whether we plan on dining in, given the nature of the acoustics. Final Answer Would come back, especially to explore the additional menu items.

But what I love most is the ambience. It has a warm, neighborhood feel when you visit. The large bar area reminds me of Cheers, a place where everyone knows your name. I was craving sides, and this place has tons of them. What I found during this experience was it was more quantity over quality. Everything was just kind of mushy and didn't really have a lot of flavor or taste. The best thing out of all of the five sides I ordered was the macaroni and cheese, and I had to add quite a bit of seasoning to make it palatable. The cheesy potatoes threw me, because there was no cheesiness to them. Also, the home fries were the same as the cheesy potatoes, so that meant to big piles of tasteless mush--hot sauce made it better. Also, there had to have been over a cup of onions combined in this box. I nibbled because I was hungry and sadly threw away the rest because I just couldn't eat it. I ordered the crab soup, and that was delicious. I would say though that the small size for the price paid is very questionable. As this was delivery, I can't be on service or ambience. Given my experience, I would not order again.

I decided to walk over from campus and order two different bowls to try one with beef bulgolgi another with spicy pork. I enjoyed both and felt like they were a hearty serving, definitely more than I expected for the lunch special. Service was great, friendly and pretty fast. The ambiance reminded me of a typical Honey Pig KBBQ feel just with a comfier waiting area with some reclining chairs, rocking chairs and couches. If you enjoy Honey pig flavors you'll definitely enjoy the bowl lunch options for a quick take away option!

I think $38.99 is a fair price for all you can eat. I like that the portions are small so too much is not wasted. This was also my first encounter with the delivery robot. That was cool. I don't like that it has other people's food on it though. I was sitting close to the kitchen so my food didn't have to travel too far but, I wouldn't want my food traveling across the room and making stops at multiple tables before getting to me. I'm from the South and I need a bit of flavor so I did add Salt and Pepper to the items while cooking. The salad dressing had no flavor. I ended up using the yum yum sauce as a dressing. The dumplings were good. The cucumber salad was also good. My favorite hot item was the steak and shrimp. The brisket was mostly fat and the thin pork belly was like Prosciutto. My only suggesting is serving the noodles closer to when the hot items are ready. They get stiff if they just sit. Oh, and I think you need separate tongs for seafood, pork, chicken, and beef. I was worried about cross contaminating. I'd try this again.

It's important to know that Potomac Fish House is not a dine-in establishment. And if you call ahead your order more than likely will not be ready when you arrive. But it's worth the wait because your order will be freshly made and there's nothing like hot fish. I ordered the two pieces whiting dinner with potatoes, fried broccoli, and a side of scallops. I wasn't a fan of the scallops. The meal is shareable and was enough for me and a friend. The size and quality of the fish is enough for me to return. It was raining, I was leaving Costco, and I wanted something close by. A quick Yelp search led me to Potomac Fish House & Deli, and I'm so glad it did. It's a small, pickup-only spot, which honestly is always a good sign when it comes to seafood. Add in the steady stream of older Black folks coming in and out and I already knew the food was about to be legit I wasn't totally sure how to order since I didn't want full platters just enough fried whiting and shrimp for three people. The man behind the counter was patient and super helpful, packing up three fish orders (each with two big pieces of fish and bread) plus a half pound of shrimp and an order of fries. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned and fried just right. The potato-wedge style fries were especially ... some of the best I've had in a long time. My mom and granny couldn't stop talking about how good it was and already said this is their new fish spot. We spent about $50 for all of it, which felt very fair for the quality and amount of food. Great service, great food, and a spot I'll definitely be back to try more from.

And to say it was underwhelming would be an understatement. I mean this experience might have been worse than the season finale of game of thrones. My wife ordered the oxtails and green jollof rice. First off, the rice tasted like wet grass. The oxtail was a sad excuse for oxtail. For context my wife is Caribbean so I've had my share of delicious oxtail, their oxtail tasted like they simply didn't even try. Now let's get to my food. I ordered the simplest thing on the menu the Steak and Frites. I'll give it to them the frites were pretty decent, but that's where my compliments end. I ordered my steak medium like a decent human being. The first steak came out and tasted like what I imagine an old used tire taste like, it was well done by the way. The next steak that came out 20 minutes later although closer to medium was surprisingly worse. It's was extremely rubbery with zero flavor. All together I would not recommend. The fact they sell this sad excuse for food is baffling. Sincerely, A concerned customer
