Things were on the floor or mixed up on the shelves. It didn't take me long to give up my shopping mission and return to the nearest exit. Low prices aren't always a draw when you have to shop along side those who don't have any respect for their fellow human beings. Maybe I came on a bad day. That day I got three pairs of stylish and discounted shoes in my new adult size. Thanks, mom! I tell you this to remind you that back in the day you could not pick out your own shoes to try on, you had to go to a shoe store where a shoe salesperson would measure your feet and go to the back to get shoes for you to try on. So Marshall's entered my world that day, and shopping was never the same! I have always sought out a Marshall's where I live and this location in the Pocket area of south Sacramento is a gem. They have a consistently well curated selection of shoes, clothing, cosmetics, personal care, and home goods. They have a pretty extensive pet section, too as well as seasonal decor and furniture. To be fair, sometimes they are in a restock mode or things are really picked over, but such is the nature of bargain stores. You may not always find exactly what you need here, but you'll be able to be in the ballpark. Marshall's has more designer and higher end brands than Ross, (though you can't knock a good Ross find, you just have to search more). When my sister visits she and I usually hit this Marshall's and can easily spend a couple hours here. This store is always busy and even though the lines get long, they have a top notch checkout crew who get you taken care of. They finally fixed the air conditioning so it's much nicer for staff and shoppers. Dressing rooms are nice and you can bring in 12 items. Ask me how I know. Ps there a back parking lot.

The clothes have price tags that show you their original price and the cut price. I like the food section because they have items that are very imported or rare. Even the cutest thing to buy is in their Tea or Coffee section. I love the rare teas. I also love coming here out of all the Marshalls in the Sacramento region. They are always loaded with more choices.

I had a really horrible experience at this Express location. We have been long-time customers since…read morethe Structure era. I bought a suit jacket for my husband on September 28, 2025, around 11:40 AM. Since my husband wasn't with me, I was unsure if the jacket would fit, so I repeatedly asked the store associate if it would be okay to return or exchange it if needed. The gentleman assured me that I could do so. However, when I got home, the jacket didn't fit my husband. I went back to the store to exchange it on October 4, 2025, in the evening, but they didn't have the size I needed. To my surprise, they refused to process a return. The cashier and manager simply declined my request and did not acknowledge that their own employee had assured me I could return or exchange the item. If the manager reads this review, I encourage them to check the store video from my original purchase on September 28, 2025. The transaction was for $76.09, and it's clear that their employee misled me just to make the sale. It is wrong to provide false information to customers. I want to warn other customers about this experience.

Update that they've done an update recently and the whole store looks much better. The freezer aisles haven't changed, but all the dried and pantry foods have been rearranged to better locations and things seem easier to find now. It's great, and the store looks bigger somehow. I noticed quite a lot of spring gardening tools are out and they're solid built. Might need to grab me a rake next time. There's still plenty of veggie starts for those who haven't planted or want to try to grow some veggies this spring/summer. I found the snack I was looking for, but only 1 bag of it and man that's not good, it means they're getting wiped out all the time for this item. There was plenty of ice cream as usual, including Little Debbie brand which is a new thing. LOL This is the Grocery Outlet we frequent most due to proximity to us and also because it's a pretty good one because it's bright, clean, and usually I'd find a few bargains, sometimes I can find a cart full! They are quite busy all the time as locals in our area really like this GO and so they rotate through their stock very fast which means you'll find new things all the time, fun!! Shopping at GO is unlike shopping at other grocery stores because you won't find the vast variety of brands for every item and some things GO won't carry at all, but if you're flexible with going with an alternative brand to what you're used to, you can really find some gems here, especially when the items you're looking for are going to be used very soon, you can find near expiration or near best by dates items that will be deeply discounted. Then there are also many solid national brands here that are just more discounted for whatever reason, such as overstocked from the factories or a certain flavor of this particular item (such as a yogurt or a cream cheese flavor) just didn't sell well at regular grocery stores and so the manufacturer is trying to offload a bunch for pennies on the dollar to GO or other similar outlet grocers instead of just throwing everything out, so then GO picks up the deal and pass on the savings to us. Win-win! So it's like a little treasure hunt everytime I come here, and usually I find at least 2-3 items that's useful to us and are priced fair or fantastically so that they just have to come home with me. Also at check out, you can enter your phone number if you sign up for a GO account and download the app and you can track all your savings and extra coupons will be on your app. Occasionally, a coupon will print out on your receipt too, nice! Finally, this location is pretty safe, I usually don't come after dark by myself, but I don't think it's unsafe to do so, but hubby and I enjoy coming here together to find our snacks and other treats besides the essentials. I also started buying some supplements and vitamins here, and their ingredients seem quite good and prices very reasonable. Come check this place out! =)
