I'm on a quest to find the best alteration in South Sac. So far, it has been very unsuccessful (maybe because most of my hemmed pants and alterations are done in San Francisco) . I would have my wide leg sweatpants hemmed and dress pants hemmed. I came to this establishment hoping to find a good seamstress. She told me she's been in the business for over 20+ years. Very knowledgeable. I had hope that the hemmed pants would look flawless and have an even hemmed lines. I was feeling confident that I have found the place. I felt happy and relieved. I had my previous hemmed pants to be cut shorter. Luckily she measured it at 27" inch. Which I told her that my length was 27. I had her cut to the length of 25". I have one cropped pants with folded up legs. She said, that she will able to cut and hem the legs. I told her that it was fine. I took her suggestion. Even though I wanted the exact same way as I bought it. Even though I wanted shorter because I am short. She suggest that it be hemmed where she think is right. I should have been adamant of having the original cropped. Now the length look weird as it slightly above my ankles looking like a farmer pants. The hems on the sweat pants were visibly uneven and off. (Pic) my jeans were uneven stitched. I don't know if it was lined correctly. I was disappointed, I had high expectations since she boast about her 20+ years experience. Base on my previous bad experience, I always let the seamstress to take her time. She can take as long as she wants 1 week or 2 week. She assured me 4 days was enough. I don't want my clothes hemmed to be rushed and have uneven stitches or lined the leg pant crooked because I know that things like this happen. Overall, the price is good and the lady was very nice. I am so pleased with my experience at TAK Company! I had 5 pieces of clothing requiring repair, & decided to take them into TAK after reading their positive reviews. I'm also a supporter of small, family-owned businesses and TAK definitely fits that bill. TAK is humbly located in a strip mall along busy Stockton Blvd. with plenty of parking. You will have to keep your eyes peeled so as not to miss the defined entrances. As I entered the store, I was greeted by two women, including the seamstress. She patiently examined and discussed each of my items and let me know if they were worth repair. She even chuckled when looking at my dress socks with holes in the toes. Yes, I believe in wearing clothing until they DIE! She quoted me...sit down for this...$19 total!! Most of that would be the price for merely replacing the zipper in my dress pants in most places! She offered to repair them immediately, but I decided to return the next day for pick up. When I did, all of the items were beautifully sewn and the lines were seamless. I could not tell they had been repaired at all. If you seek Chinese-made clothing, shoes, and beautiful dresses, you will find them in the store also. I have gotten my dresses here altered twice - one for my senior prom and again recently for a bridesmaid dress. I remember going there when I was 17 and the ladies who helped me were nice and accommodating. They helped with my alterations, offered a good price and had it done real soon! And it's not even pretty during the day time --- random kids running about, cars racing back and forth, garbage every where, and a casino to top it off, yeah Stockton Blvd. But yeah, I see that there is some effort to revitalize the street --- they're building several new shopping centers --- alright, alright, I'll give you that. Anyway, I always shop at Wing Wah Supermarket --- you know ---- that hideous royal blue eye sore --- for Chinese groceries. So, I go with my family on Sunday, and it's super packed, so we decide to park near Tak Co. Thank god we did because I looked at their display window and Tak Co. had the most gorgeous Chinese cheongsam (qpo/ wedding gown) ever!!! At first I didn't want to go in because we've already gone to sf the week prior and purchased a cheongsam, but my sis dragged me in. I'm so glad she did! We found the same cheongsam that we bought, but for $10 less ---RATS!!! And we found another cheogsam --- this time it had a coat and skirt. I had to try it on! The set was size Large -- the coat felt like BUTTER --- I loved it! But the skirt was too tight. I asked the friendly worker for a larger size ---XL--- and she found another set. What sucked was the XL coat didn't fit , but the XL skirt did. I asked the worker if I could do a switch-a-roo --- buy the L coat and the XL skirt --- and she let me --- so awesome! My mama was even able to find something to wear for my wedding, a dress/ short coat set --- so awesome! Both outfits were for $120, my mom talked both outfits down to $100 each! So negotiate if you're definitely going to purchase a large ticket item. They're super friendly and speak both Chinese and English! I went in with another friend who was also looking for a Chinese dress for her wedding. I was looking for a little more traditional (a red dress to wear) and she was looking for something a little less traditional (white). You see, in the chinese culture wearing a white is usually done when you're going to a funeral whereas wearing red is something that is done when you attend a wedding or participate in a wedding. We went in at around 10 am (they open at 10 every day) so were greeted by 2 little chinese women behind the counter. They asked if we needed any help in which we told them we were just browsing. I felt comfortable that they weren't pressuring us to get or look at anything. We findly spotted the dresses we wanted to try on and we did. The sizes are pretty hard to come by so if you find the size you like, get it. The women gave us a 10% discount because we were both getting married so they hooked us up. I've come to this establishment a few times to adjust my dress pants, and they never disappoint. The owners and workers are very friendly. You can drop it off and pick it up later, or if you're willing to wait a little bit sometimes they will offer to work on your clothing right away. Quality of the alteration work is superb, and price is rather cheap! They also sell dress shirts, vests, suits, ties, and dresses. The only downside is that they unfortunately don't alter suits. First off, I want to say that the 2 women working the store were friendly, at first. When I walked in they asked what I needed and I explained to them that I wanted my bridesmaids dress altered. I needed it a bit shorter as it was too long, then I told her I wanted the sides pulled in and my sleeve and belt shortened as well. She told me to go try my dress on so I did. Once I had my dress on she began to put pins in where she was going to hem. I began to ask her about the other alterations I wanted her to do and she told me she didn't know how to do it and that all she could provide for me was a simple hem. I explained again what I wanted in case she didn't understand me, her English wasn't all that good, she again told me she could not. I was pretty disappointed because I felt like when I first told her what I wanted she could of easily told me she would not be able to do that for me instead of waisting both our times. I thanked her for her time and was getting ready to head out the door when she began to say something to the other woman who was on her phone the entire time. They both started speaking their langue and were looking at me, it was super uncomfortable and super rude. Needless to say, I didn't need their services as they couldn't help me with what I needed. This place is great! My uniform dress for work ripped and I needed it fixed asap. My mom told me about this place when she saw it after going grocery shopping in Wing Wa. I was skeptical at first but so glad I went in! I brought my work dress in, the lady looked at it for a couple minutes. Then told me it was ripped so that part can't be fixed. But she said she could sew it in for me to hide it. Sure! Do what you gotta do I said! Then 1 minute later, she's done sewing! Hands me over my dress. I can't even see the rip part anymore! Asked her how much, she said... $3.00! 3 bucks?! 3 bucks?!! Seriously! I can't even buy Starbucks for $3! Anyway, for 5min, for $3, my problem was fixed! Now that's what I call efficiency! The 2 ladies are friendly and helpful. I went in to alter 2 long skirts (shorten their lengths) and the whole encounter took 10 minutes. They got it done after just a day. I paid 25$ for the whole thing, they first said 10$ each then pointed out that one of the skirts has more than one layer. So I offered to pay $25 for both and they agreed. This is the best place to get alterations. I have been coming here for years and no doubt they have the best prices in town. Not only that, but they get the alterations done in a timely manner. I took in 14 pairs of pants (at 4pm) to get altered and they were done by noon the next day. Quality of work is excellent. Last time, I dropped off 2 pairs of pants at a dry cleaners for alterations and my pants were not ready til 3 days later. I always come to TAK Alterations on Stockton Blvd whenever I need my jeans to be altered. I'm pretty short so when I find a pair of jeans I absolutely love but they don't have it in my length I bring them here. Very reasonable prices and they don't even look altered when done. Sometimes when they're not busy I'll drop it off, go get groceries next door at Wing Wa, and by the time I'm back they're done. They have a vast array of really pretty Chinese dresses and they sell other types of clothes also (I've never purchased any) but it is a bit cluttered so be prepared to have the patience to go through all the racks. read more

Last minute, I needed a long pink cheongsam with capped sleeves. Searched online and found several, but they all ship from China ad would not arrive on time. I saw reviews of this place, which I had not heard of before. I called to confirm that they had what I needed and they did! I walked in 10 minutes before close. The staff searched and found the EXACT one I needed - down to the sleeves. By the time I was done trying it on, it was 10 minutes after closing time, and they STILL offered to taylor it to fit me better. AND they didn't charge to taylor it, since I bought it from them.
