Recently purchased a Groupon gift for iphone 4 screen repair for my husband. Did. Not. Go. Well. At. All. The only reason I purchased this Groupon was because I thought the value was really worth it. $65.00 for a $138 screen repair? A no brainer. We've been holding out on getting that crack fixed because it just didn't seem worth it...til the Groupon came along. So I bought it for my husband who's been heavy sighing over that crack ever since it first appeared. Here's what happened: We live in Oakland (this is important to the story - you'll see why later) He drove into the city last Wednesday to get the repair done. (He had to pay tax on my gift. It's not really a gift when the giftee has to pay for something that the Groupon didn't say you have to pay for.) The repair took 2 hours. He waited in SF for it to be done and then came back home. When he got home, he realized, although the screen was fixed, the camera was no longer working. He called Citicomm Wireless and they told him to bring it back. He drove into the city again, on Thursday. He waited in SF for 2 hours. When he came back, they told him they couldn't fix the camera. They told him they would order a replacement phone but he could take his now screen-repaired but camera-broken phone home until they called him sometime the next week to let him know when the replacement phone had arrived. He came back home. He went the whole weekend without a camera (this made him very sad). Citicomm Wireless called him on Monday and told him to bring his phone back to the store. They also told him that they were not going to replace his phone as originally promised but they were going to "replace the inside" (whatever that means). This made us nervous. He drove back to SF yesterday. He waited around for an hour for the repair. He drove home. When he attempted to restore his backed up data to the phone with the replaced insides, well, let's just say that this did not go well. It took 2 Macs and several hours of attempts and it still didn't restore everything correctly. He's now in the process of having to download all of his apps manually all over again. So, long story longer, I feel bad that I bought this Groupon. If I had any insight into how much time, trouble and frustration would result in me purchasing this "gift," I never would have done so. I think the worst part is thinking about how many extra trips were needed for this repair which resulted in a lot of extra gas money spent which, in fact, now brings the actual cost of the Groupon to well beyond the original $138 cost of the non-Groupon-ed screen repair. Bottom line: will I still use Groupon and still tell all my friends about it? Hell yes. Will I EVER go to Citicomm Wireless again? Hell no. read more

While on vacation I dropped my (brand new!) iPhone 4S and shattered the glass on the front pretty badly. Only in SF for two days of a week long vacation up and down the coast, my options were limited. I found Citicomm online so I went there to have the front glass replaced. After leaving it there for a day, I picked up my phone in the evening and it looked fantastic. Unfortunately, about an hour later, the screen went blank. (Unlike previous iPhones, the glass and LCD screen are one solid unit on the 4S). The replacement part they gave me did not work, so I had to go back the next day and drop it off again. They were helpful and said that they would replace it no problem, which they did. However, when I returned that evening to pick it up, the screen had a spot of discoloration in the upper right corner. I pointed this out to them, and as the worker inspected it, I asked if they use EOM(?) parts straight from the manufacturer and they said no. I'm not sure where they get their parts, but at that point they had given me two consecutive faulty replacement screens. The worker told me to hold on a minute, talked to a guy in the back for a moment, and they proceeded to help other customers. I waited over 15 minutes while he helped a number of customers and completely ignored me. I felt as though they were brushing me off and hoping I would just leave. I finally flagged him down and he got the guy in the back to come talk to me. He asked me to leave the phone so they could fix it again and I could come back to pick it up the next day. Unfortunately, I was leaving town early the next morning, so this wasn't an option for me. I was forced to keep the phone with a discolored green spot in the corner instead. They offered me no reimbursement or even a discount for my troubles. What they told me they could do in a few hours took two days (and would have taken a third). I had to alter the plans of my vacation in order to right the traffic over to their location two days in a row and in the end I'm still stuck with a defective phone. Then to top it all off, my credit card was initially charged twice for their service, though to be fair the extra charge was removed without me needing to take any action. I question the quality of their replacement parts and was not satisfied with their customer service. I would not recommend them to others. read more

These guys make up their rates on the spot and do not honor their own prices online. I called just an hour or so before visiting the store and they said they would fix my iphone screen for $89 (matching online pricing) and then a price match to a competitor store for $79. I was like, awesome that lady made my day since this location is closer to work... HOWEVER, after an hour later, I came to visit the store and the man working there wouldn't honor my rate over the phone and tried to charge me $100. Their online prices don't match up to what they say in stores and they don't honor their price match in person. If you want to get your screen fixed, I highly recommend going to the kiosk at the metreon! Their rates are cheaper and you can watch them fix your device in 15 minutes! Honestly, i don't care about the money- it's about the service and honoring your pricing from online to in person. You're better off going to a different place to get your repairs. read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. They offered a groupon for cell phone screen repairs. Since my model wasn't one of the specified phones in the deal, I called Citicomm directly before I purchased the groupon to explain the damage to my phone, tell them the model of my phone, and ask which, if any, groupon I should buy. They told me I should buy the groupon for a different model phone and that they would honor it for my phone. This wasn't a negotiation; they offered this arrangement as a solution without prompting from me. I also asked if I needed to bring any additional information regarding our discussion and was told to just come on in, explain what I was just told and that everything would be fine. I bought the suggested groupon with the promise and understanding that it would cover the whole of my phone's screen's repairs. At this point, I was extremely impressed with their customer service. I even reccommended to friends that they too purchase this groupon, as Citicomm was extremely accommodating and helpful. I regret that now Nevertheless, when I went to get my phone repaired they refused to honor my groupon and curtly told me that I could either pay 50 dollars more or take it up with groupon, which I did; Groupon graciously offered me a refund. I was also told, when asked if they were on yelp, that "I could yelp them all I wanted, but they still weren't fixing my phone," because he couldn't verify that I was telling the truth. That would be perfectly valid, if they hadn't told me that I wouldn't need to. I would rather live with a broken phone than give Citicomm wireless a penny of my money AND my issue was not with Groupon, it was with the advice of THEIRS that I followed. What adds insult to injury is that the value of the groupon that I purchased ($158) was higher than the cost of the service I requested ($150) as verified by their responses to their groupon's Q&A. I can't speak to the quality of their actual service, but their customer service is male bovine feces! read more

Would give this place 0 stars if I had the option. The only reason that I went to this store was because there was Groupon for 50% off screen replacements and even that wasn't a good enough deal had I known of the terrible service and representatives. They had replaced my glass screen on my iPhone and they recommended that I replace my cracked LCD display as well. I thought why not so I paid the extra 30 dollars and they replaced it. After waiting about an hour longer than it takes to replace both a screen and a LCD display I got it back and did a little run through to see if there were any problems. After restarting my phone, the screen began to flicker and flash like crazy! So I called the store and mentioned the problem and he immediately stated that this was not a problem on their side. He was adamant on the fact that it was a software problem and proceeded to hang up on me. Never coming back again even if it is free. read more

Their repair of a broken microUSB connector in my Nexus S resulted in damage to the antenna that rendered the phone unusable, which they weren't able to correct despite multiple attempts over many days. Finally had to insist they buy the broken phone from me for its salvage value. I would not trust them for any future repairs. read more

Third time is the charm, theoretically, but I can't keep wasting my time coming in here. Had my Nexus 5 jostled out of my hand on BART last week, and went here to get my phone repaired. The first job was quick, the longest part was sitting around my office before realizing that my office landline was unplugged. Woops. I picked it up, everything was great, I restored my backup and went home. Woke up the next morning and the screen had seperated from the backlight, or something. it was incredibly washed out with a purple hue, except in a few spots where, I imagine, the *hadn't* seperated. The screen was pushed far enough away from the body that i could stick a businesscard behind the screen had I wanted to. I went back to the store and they replaced it again, no questions asked, though this time they didn't call me at all when it was done. This screen lasted about two days before the same seperation thing occured. At this point, I am planning to try to fix this myself because it's no longer worth my time if I have to keep going back to them every day or three until they get it right. The cost of replacing this screen through Citicomm and then having to buy an OEM replacement and doing it myself makes the cost of this repair more than purchasing a new Nexus 5, not even considering the cost of my time and stress. read more

I was just in here earlier today on my lunch. Touchscreen stopped working, and this was my second stop as the first place had no clue how to fix it. The guy said the price would be either $119 (if it's just the screen) or $200 (if just the inside). I was bit put off considering it was going to be $150, if I had it fixed at my carrier -- who most likely would've just swapped my phone out for a refurbished one and try to pin it as mine smh. Nonetheless, I left the phone with him. I came back two hours later to an unrecognizable phone. Mind you, I ha(d) a White Samsung Galaxy S4 which is only 8 months old and hasn't had any problems until now. It's my baby. Apparently they ran out of the front frame and had to swap that and the battery door to black... NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. He threw in a case and discounted the price to $140. At least the touchscreen works and I can actually use my phone right? I guess I can always order a white battery door and frame off Amazon...?' Oh and I almost forgot to mention there's this annoying red/purple/circle mark in the middle of my screen.... But wait. There's more! 3.5 hours later, I get home and notice my phone is on 75%. I decide to put it on the charger. Tell me why a message popped up saying: Charging Paused. Battery temperature too low. WTF? I turned the phone off and tried to charge that way. Nope. Same message, but as an infographic. Turned the phone back on, and Lord behold now it's on 11%... So help me God. I should've just left my phone at Sprint for repair -_- read more

this is a response to the comment written by the owner. my phone was old and cracked sure, but it worked just fine. I had no other problems with my phone until the screen was cracked. i was able to use my phone with the screen broken. i didn't give you my phone with a white screen. you did more than the original service, because you returned my phone in a different state than I gave it to you. i just LOVE looking at my phone and seeing the crappy glue job you did, as well as the broken buttons. it's terrible that you are trying to blame me for extra labor and time since you were the ones who created the extra problems in the first place. if you lost money and would have refused service for YOU creating new problems on my phone that I didn't have before, I will make sure to deter everyone i know from using your service, so you won't have to worry about additional labor time. and from seeing other responses you are giving to unsatisfied customers, I'm sure you'll be in business a very long time. read more

So Nate and Francis are amazing. I have a Nexus 4 that I paid for out of pocket - well I called Google, they direct me to LG. I called LG, they tell me send in the phone, 7 business days later I'll get it back but no quotes or anything. Of course I dropped my phone on a Friday evening, so no use at all. Forums, posts, etc. and all I got was a youtube video telling me how to replace it and a link to an ebay auction. No thanks. No offense, but I'd like a simple, straight-forward solution. Luckily I found Citicomm Wireless - I dropped my phone off, had a drink (or two) and salmon crudo across the street - came back and my phone was ready to go with a new cover. They didn't even have to turn the phone on to replace anything. Just perfect. Everything works as it should, I couldn't even tell you that the phone isn't literally brand new. They fixed my Nexus pretty quickly, and it seemed great initially, but the new screen cracked within 4 days of normal use. It feels like they're using sub-par replacement parts. I went back in to complain, but they only offered to try again at "cost" ($100). Don't expect _any_ kind of guarantee for their work. read more

I emailed the store asking for a quote to replace the broken screen on my phone. They initially responded quite quickly with a price and the time it would take to repair my phone. However, when I wrote back to confirm that the part was in stock, I didn't hear back. I called back the next day and was put on hold, then finally told that the price quoted was inaccurate and that they couldn't get the part anyway. I expect better from a 4-star business on Yelp. read more

Got my MetroPCS card here a few weeks ago.. Charged me about 50 Dollars for first month fee and activation. My sim card got locked one day later due to non payment. Had to go 2 days later to the MetroPCS Store at the Market Street to get this fixed. They have asked me what I paid and told me that I probably got scammed in this store.. Fortunately they fixed the mistake from this guy in 3min and they felt sorry for me that I paid for nothing. Furthermore he used not a original nano sim but rather used a cutter. Nothing bad but they should work flawless. In my case I have to put it in my iPhone 2-3 times till it detects the sim card. Was my first day in the US so I had a really bad start... read more

They are very dishonest. My cell phone battery died so I bought it from Citicomm. They sold me a used battery and it won't work. When I go back their to return the battery, the sales and the manager there refused to give me a cash refund. They even said the battery I returned is not the one I purchased from their store. When I showed them my receipt, they said no cash refund without the authorization of their boss. When I asked to speak to their boss, they said he's not available. I should have known better. These people are con-artists, selling defective battery. This is not the way to conduct business. read more

I brought my Samsung Galaxy note 2 in for a glass repair. Received great service from the start, was quoted a 4 hour time frame because they wanted to make sure the Adhesive would be dry. I rather they give me a larger wait time then have my phone screen fall apart after a week. Received a call later in the day telling me my phone was ready. When I picked up the phone I again received a warm greeting, they brought me my phone and it looked fantastic, like new. I mentioned I saw the great reviews on yelp and they offered me an additional discount. All and all I can not recommend this place enough for all your cell phone needs. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I bought my HTC EVO phone there in Feb. 2011, the past two weeks my touchscreen has been stuck. They automatically wanted me to file a claim the phone insurance ($100.00) I took it back to Citicomm and they fixed it!!! In less than 15 minutes I had a new screen and the border around the screen which they had RUINED at Sprint Tanforan. My brother in law who has in own moving company buys all his phones at this store too, they always help him and fixed his phones when neeeded. It sucks to say it but I am not going back to any Sprint store again, this store cells all cell phones and fixes them too!!! VISIT THEM SOON!!! After being a customer of this establishment for some time I have had good and bad experiences at this store. The service depending on volume of people can be fast or slow. At times however I had been ignored while reps sat at their computer desks in the front or back. There had also been multiple times where I brought in my phone and within days I'd have to exchange it again or get it repaired. Until recently as well I had found through being contacted through a sprit rep that my insurance was being used by this store. They asked me if I recently issued an exchange at this store but I replied no. To be called and asked by sprint like that makes me worry. Now I go to corperate stores for phone exchange as they recently have the ability to do phone exchanges. read more

They promised to fix my samsung s3 screen within an hour and they did it. The problem was they gave me a cracked case. Francis offered me a $20 off discount because of that. When I got home, I realized there were scratches on the screen and the signals of charging and incoming messages weren't working. I took it back to them. Francisc said he would charge me "only" $40 for the parts. t turned out that they only fixed the charging signal for me but the incoming message signal remains broken. Felt compelled to jump in and comment on the brief but satisfying experience I had with this company. I live 2 doors down and have never had cause to step foot inside. But on my way to dinner with the kids, I decided to just take a chance. I'll get back to this in a moment. Recently the speaker for the earpiece on my iPhone 4 stopped working properly. I took it to the Genius Bar and they pointed to a ding on the top of the phone and said that the earpiece had shorted out because of the damage and that for $150 they would sell me a refurb phone. Fortunately as it turns out, I played the old "let me check with my wife" card and left. That is what led me to venture in today. I had already researched other solutions, including replacing the speaker myself. But I figured lets see what they say because I would rather save as much of the $150 as I could for the new phone I am sure is coming in Sept/Oct. So, I went into the store with kids at my side. I told the gentleman behind the counter the problem I was having and asked if he could give me an idea of what he would charge to fix it. He took the phone, looked at it, dialed 611 and walked behind the partition to their work area. And honestly it was less than 60 seconds later, he comes out smiling and says I owe him $100. Stunned I looked at him thinking he meant it would cost $100 to fix. I had immediately "consulted with the wife" in my head and decided to go to Apple and buy the replacement for $150 and just have a like new phone. I figured for 50$ more it was worth it. Granted that was an awful lot to consider in a split second. But to my pleasant surprise, he put the phone to my ear... and it worked. I asked what was the issue and he just smiled. That was it. No charge, no hassle, just boom! it works. And in less time than it is probably taking you to read this review. That is what I call customer service and I will surely go back to him if I ever have another phone problem. Was having issues dealing with Asurion. They wanted $175 for a deductible and still didn't want to honor my claim. I called Citicomm and found out they had the screen for a LG G3 in stock and could repair it same day. They came through and I have my G3 working again. Thank you Citicomm! These guys know whats up. Give them an hour to work on your phone and you'll be back with a brand new screen. I had a little trouble with the sensitivity on one corner of the screen and they were more than happy to try again. In the end, I think the point of impact on my phone was the said corner and there was no way to recover that sensitivity. However, its just nice that they would try again to replace the screen to see if they could fix the problem. read more

I broke my EVO screen. Dropped it. I heard about this place through a friend, so I went to get my screen done. Price was reasonable. But when I got my phone back the earpiece speaker didn't work and it had some error messages etc... but brought it back, they fixed it fast and now the phone is like new.
