Citrus Place is amazing. My mother-in-law has been there going on 3 years. From Kathy at the front desk to Caroline in charge of the Caregivers to Megan the Director to June the Activities Gal and EVERYONE who works there, these people genuinely care about the residents. Mom has dementia so she is in Assisted Living with enhanced care. We looked at other places and we (and mom) liked this one the best. The food is great too! We moved my mother Sally, into Citrus Place back in January of this year. The very first thing that I noticed when I walked through the front doors was, the absence of bad odors! And, I don't mean covered over with some other fragrance, I mean fresh! They keep this place spotless! My first contact was with Charlie. He handled the writing of the contract. Charlie was so calm handling our business. He was like talking to a good friend. Next, we met Michelle, their head nurse. She was like talking to a sister. Michelle did the initial assessment for my mother's level of care and she was spot on. Michelle was so genuinely caring. We met the director, Megan, she was like an Auntie. The caregivers like Rosie and Taye, absolute angels to my mother. Rosie in particular cared for my mother so well. She was the only person that my mother let bath her! The Med Tech Rita, VERY experienced and super friendly and caring and so many others treated us like just part of their big family, I really mean that! I knew, this was the place for my 94 year old mother to enjoy the final years of her life. Every employee that serves here has a heart for the residents. They behave like they want to be here. The receptionists at the front desk and the servers in the dinning area, everyone is a part of this close nit family of caregivers. We moved my Father in March 2025. From day one, we knew he would have great care here. The staff from the very beginning was so welcoming, warm and friendly. My Father took to this place immediately . He really felt at home here. He was there a little over a year before he passed away 4-16-26. I can't say enough about the amazing staff there. From the top of management to all the staff . Kathy at the front desk to greet you to all the caregivers , med techs, house cleaning and all the staff. I wish I could name all of them but I would feel bad if I left anyone out. Thank you all for being my extended family and giving so much love and care to my father. We moved one of our family members to the independent living center at Citrus Place a few months ago. The quality of the living space is exceptional and is visited by an assigned house maid to assist in keeping the space tidy once a week. Citrus Place provides restaurant quality food service for its residents and our family member talks about this all the time. Last but not least is the quality, kindness and attention to detail that we experience with the Citrus Place staff. Overall, I'm very happy and pleased with the experience. I had the pleasure of attending a Resident meeting last week. I arrived early and saw over 1 dozen residents of the independent living participating in their version of volley ball! They looked like they were having so much fun! We all gathered together afterwards for the meeting. Everyone was so engaged and truly enjoyed each other's company. read more

In researching and touring facilities such as this I have to day that it is by far the most beautiful place I have visited/toured thus far. The amenities, grounds and rooms were outstanding. The dining room and menu is only compared to a cruise! The same goes for the various activities for residents. In fact all the residents I saw seemed very happy! My husband has been a resident at Citrus Place for the past 4 years, part of that time in independent living, but most in assisted living. I have been more than satisfied with both locations. The staff are always courteous and respectful to him and are responsive to all my constant requests. Their attitude is upbeat, with humor, and without fail helpful. When I say staff, I am referring to all levels, from director to the laundry service and cleaners. They work with family to attempt to provide optimum care, are open to suggestions and offer valid ones themselves. I am always greeted with a smile by every staff member and all efforts are made to accommodate my husband's needs. Holidays and special events are very festive and communicate FUN to residents and their families. Good routine activities are available to encourage physical and mental mobility, of course, (and they vary as different needs of residents change), but it is the extra activities-many of them-that brighten the atmosphere. Often, all the staff is involved which gives an overall sense of family. Visiting my husband several times a week for 4 years, I have NEVER had a negative experience. The menu is quite varied and plentiful (salads and desserts especially good). The waitstaff (mostly young adults) are courteous, efficient, and quickly learn individual resident's preferences which I find remarkable because many of the residents are not particularly communicative. There are interesting and varied off campus activities and the same bus used for those events is also available for doctor's appointments and errands. The driver goes above and beyond with accommodating for physical difficulties; she is friendly with the residents and adjusts her schedule as much as possible for delayed pickups. Both my husband and I always look forward to our transporting to doctors for the goodwill she brings. The facility is clean, maintenance is tended to quickly, and the best thing is the savory smells when you walk in the lobby! Overall, I think Citrus Place could rank among the best senior living place in all of Riverside. read more

"Citrus Place, a Culture of Kindness" - After having lived on the independent living side of Citrus Place, Riverside, for almost a year, I must say that I feel so, so fortunate to be here! I couldn't be more thankful! I feel Citrus Place has it all: good food, great facilities, caring staff, and one other essential quality, a "Culture of Kindness". Everyone here is treated with a tremendous amount of kindness, which is not just an act they put on while you are visiting. This kindness is "real" and infectious, starting with the Executive Director on down. A few examples of the many kindnesses I see here would be a resident going the length of the large dining room just to invite a resident to eat with the rest of us so they didn't eat alone. Or a server, who on overhearing a resident wishing Citrus Place served a certain beverage, brought an expensive bottle from home just to make the resident's day. Or when I was sitting on my balcony the other day, enjoying the sunshine, two of the employees calling me by name from quite a distance and waving as they headed home for the day. Sometimes it just takes a little act of kindness to make you feel someone cares about you. I honestly think some of the employees could find better paying jobs elsewhere, but I think they like it here so much that they are willing to accept less money to work in a place where they are treated so well, not only by the other staff, but also by the residents! I would say, of the few weaknesses I see at Citrus Place, they are all in the process of getting corrected. The serving of the food has some problems, but should be corrected as soon as the state of unemployment is addressed. There is also a shortage of activities, but should also change soon with the recent hire of a new activities director. If you don't trust my judgement, consider this. This is an only a review if you are looking to work for this place. I received a text from Mary on a Monday regarding a phone interview to set up a time, times being Monday- Wednesday 8 am- 4:30 pm, she sent the text Monday at 4 pm, I responded within a minute of the original text to set up a time which got no response. I texted again the next day, Tuesday, to again set up a time, which went again with no response. I then get a text on Saturday regarding a phone interview which I guess she wanted to hold on Saturday, but I'm unavailable so I let her know this and we set up an interview for again Monday at 2 pm (today). At 2:05 I haven't heard anything so I send a text, asking if we're still going to talk. I don't hear anything. 2:20 rolls around and I decide I'll call so that I'm not wasting anymore of my time waiting for a phone call. Mary answers and tell me " Oh, I forgot to let you know that I wouldn't be able to call because I have to cover the front desk." I'm sorry you're short staffed but it's very unprofessional to waste another persons time because of your lack of communication. Seems like a horrible way to treat future employees from the start. We have been texting this whole time, she blamed it on needing to keep the phone available to call 911 for an emergency, but it takes 2 seconds to send a text to reschedule a meeting. May be time to hire a new hiring manager. *texts with time stamps included so its not disregarded. read more

Teagan at the front desk is always so helpful, kind, and you can tell she loves her job! She always is there to answer questions! Every time we walk in she is always so sweet and asking how we are and if we need anything to let her know. I always see her asking the residents in the dining hall if they need anything. Well Brook??? There's NOTHING Well about this place!! Every time I went to visit my mother in law it was disgusting ! The poor elderly people that live there are neglected in a huge way for the money they want to charge! My pooor mother in law caught a contagious sickness called CDIFF.. and hasn't been the same since!! The apartment we moved her into ended up having BED BUGS and their own staff asked me if she had been downstairs sitting on the couches because the staff doesn't even sit on them due to bugs! I walked into her apartment 1 day and it smelled so bad like poop after looking over her apartment I noticed shit on the bathroom counter next to her toothbrush and cosmetics ALSO on her wheelchair and the couch! The caretaker in charge didn't wipe up or even check after changing her.This was after they moved her into a new apartment (the model apartment) they use for show.. their was shit stains everywhere. After using the restroom my husband went to wash his hands and use a towel to dry them and again their was shit stains on the new towels they brought her! Again nobody took responsibility I was LIVID and marched down stairs to speak with the manager in charge, she took notes and said she would handle it but NEVER did!! My loved one fell while in her apartment and fractured her pelvic bone and was sent to the hospital. While at the hospital we learned about the CDIFF and had to dress up in protective gear just to visit with her for over a month and they still charged us the 4600 for the care she never received! I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND WELBROOK TO ANYBODY THAT ACTUALLY LOVES THEIR MOM OR DAD!! They are in it for the money!! They charged us 800 for carpet cleaning when the shit was there before she got into that apartment! SUCH A SCAM!! DO NOT SEND THE ONES YOU LOVE HERE! The manager is so bitchy to family members that ask questions .. she passes the buck onto others when it's her job to make sure our loved ones are in the best care! THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE JUST THE MONEY!! This place paints a pretty picture but is a SCAM 100 percent!! I would NEVER recommend them to my worst enemies because they don't care about anything but $$$$ MONEY$$!! My mother in law has now been in the hospital for over a month and is on her death bed due to what she caught from that place! She went from 140 pounds to 90 pounds in 1 month due to the CDIFF! I don't usually leave reviews but this place is the worst ever!! I feel sorry for the ones that are still there suffering under the care of WELLBROOK!! Please do your research and ask questions and talk to people before trusting anyone to take care of your loved ones!! It breaks my heart honestly to see the hundreds of older people their without the care they deserve! WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR ZERO CARE Or CONCERN!! Nice place to leave your parents because the people who work there love their job and ensure the safety of your loved ones. (I mean the people that WORK work there like the caregivers, cooks, servers, housecleaning and so on) I know they love their jobs because they get paid terribly and have to follow ridiculous policies and STILL choose to stay working there. This is Coming from a ex employee I learned a lot from this job that was helpful to me. I love to make the residents smile. The hardest part was when you get close to someone and they pass away. I worked for Welbrook for a few years and the company of MBK all together six years. Welbrook is a family friendly environment. All of the staff, from the receptionists, nurse, caretakers, to the Executive Director are professional and compassionate! If you want a special place for your loved one to live independently and have wonderful care this is not the place. I would of gave them 0 stars but I had to at least mark 1 to leave a review. This place is all about taking your money and not really caring for your loved one. I found a apartment there for my 77year old mother who mind you has dementia and a serious liver condition. Her first couple of weeks there were ok. Then my mom had a fall so they admitted her to the hospital. Mind you my mom has dementia, at midnight decided to check herself out of the hospital and they allowed my mom to take a taxi back to the facility at 12:30 in the morning by herself. Then I find out a couple weeks later my moms apartment has bed bugs. So they tell me they are going to take care of it. In the mean time my mom has another fall. So they send her off to the hospital again. Then she gets sent from the hospital to a rehab where she stays for 3weeks. When my mom gets out come to find out she still has bed bugs in her apartment. So they out her up in their "model" apartment while they are still trying to remedy the bug issue. Mind you they still want their 4,600 for their apartment rent. Then I tell them after her trip to the rehab she needs extra care because she is unable to get out of bed. I go to see her and she is sleeping sideways on her bed in a pool of her own piss.. Nobody checked on her and when I brought it to their attention they told me they fired the girl on shift that night. Next time I went to visit her in their "model" apartment their was shit on her wheelchair, bathroom counter, and wash towels in her bathroom. There was shit on the floor next to her bed. I brought that to their attention and they cleaned it up ASAP. Last time she was there I was out of town and they called and say d she fell again and they found her in the bathroom. Who knows how long she was there. I was out of town but they told me she was on her way once again to the hospital. So on my way home I stop by the hospital to check on my mom and I was told by the doctors that I had to suit up to visit my mom. I told them no she is here cause she fell? They said yes but she also has C- Diff. I started to freak out and lose my mind. It is a infection of the bowels, And is very contagious. So all the shit I found in their "Model" apartment my mom caught C-Diff from. So bed bugs in her apartment and C-Diff in their "Model" apartment go figure. Not to mention I bought my mom a brand new couch that I paid well over 1,000 dollars for she could not use and had to throw away cause they never got rid of the bugs. Then after my mom is moved out still try to bill us for the cleaning of their "Model"apartment of over 700 dollars. Think twice before you send you loved one here.
