We have been walking/running by Nautilus for the longest time and finally had the chance to stop by for dinner! Definitely a bar crowd. Food was great but service was fair. Our waitress apologized for forgetting to take our order because she was too busy tending the bar. Brussel sprouts were awesome. The meatball alla vodka pizza was also great- definitely crispy but we loved the pizza seasoning used to flavor their pie. I went for the lobster roll which was tasty served on a nice toasted bun. A small container of coleslaw and onion rings. Side options are fries, sweet potato fries or onion rings. I opted for the rings which were fried well but not too far where they weren't good. They were tasty. When you bite into the ring the onion stayed inside the batter. I hate when you take a bite and half the onion ring comes out. This did not. My husband had the fish and chips which was tender and again a nice coating which was fried well and not greasy. He opted for the sweet potato fries which he enjoyed. The staff was friendly and engaging. The interior has a New England coastal feel. read more

Nautilus is a New American restaurant that opened in Milford, Connecticut in March 2023. It was founded by business partners Nick Amoratis and Crystal Ardito-Meyers. Amoratis' family has been in the restaurant business for several years. Nick's grandparents Antonios and Vasoliki Amoratis opened Alfa Pizza (a Greek-style pizzeria) in the Walnut Beach section of Milford in 1980. Antonios and Vasoliki's sons John and Mike transitioned the pizzeria into a full service restaurant with a bar in 2000. Although the family had as many as three pizzerias open in Connecticut at the same time, it was the Walnut Beach pizzeria that stayed open for 41 years. Following some tragic family accidents, the pizzeria closed for good in 2021. Nick and longtime Alfa employee Crystal had talked for years about opening their own restaurant, so they started to transition the restaurant space into a new concept. The name 'Nautilus' was chosen because it is a symbol of nature's grace in growth, expansion and renewal. The food menu features burgers, sandwiches, salads, seafood dishes, bar bites, and New Haven-style pizza. My family and I recently had dinner at Nautilus for the first time. We previously tried their pizza last summer at the first Connecticut Pizza & Brew Fest. We thought that their pizza was excellent and we were happy when we heard that they were voted "Best in the Fest". My family and I arrived around 6PM on a Sunday evening. We first decided to order some small plates to share, including a "Quesadilla" (chicken in a tortilla, served with pico & sour cream) and "Philly Eggrolls" (hand rolled & served with Nauti sauce). They were pretty tasty, but we were most looking forward to pizza. We shared a "Margherita" (red with tomato, fresh mozzarella, EVOO, fresh basil & pecorino romano) and a "Bacon & Onion" Pie. Good sauce, good toppings and great crust! Although we really enjoyed the food, we were a little disappointed with our overall experience. During our visit there were several menu item omissions (due to the restaurant running out of various ingredients), they were installing a new fish tank (which was a little noisy), and the service was very slow (which seemed to be due to staffing issues). Several times we heard the server tell the customers, "We're very sorry for the long wait, but you all sort of came in at the same time." With all due respect, shouldn't a restaurant be prepared for a dinner crowd? I realize that restaurants can have bad nights, but this was our first time eating in and first impressions are lasting ones. Came in late on a Sunday when a few other places in town had turned us away (not so nicely I might add) and our server Philip was the absolute best. While visiting family, my first and only visit to this business I ordered food to go for this past Friday night. I ordered the swordfish tacos supposedly with a mango salsa and a lime infused sour cream on the side. Fish was horribly over cooked and it came with a side of sour cream and tomatoe and onion salsa. $16 plus tax for 3 disgusting tacos. And today it's running through me something awful!!! This has officially become my new favorite spot in Milford. The sommelier was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered a wine flight, something I have never seen in a local spot! I loved one of the wines! For food, I had the Lobstah roll which was delicious and fresh! The onion rings on the side were crunchy and delicious. My sister got fries instead and they were perfectly seasoned and crunchy. The staff was also super attentive, checking up on us regularly. The ambiance was casual and beachy. What an adorable spot near Walnut Beach! I stopped in on a beautiful day with my mom for lunch, and we were so impressed by the cute beachy theme. The Philly cheesesteak eggrolls were a great appetizer, and my mom enjoyed the tropical Nauti Pirate cocktail. From reading their backstory, I knew that they were previously a pizza place, so I definitely wanted to check out one of their New Haven style pizzas. We had the mashed potato and it was so yummy! Nicely cooked burger--really hit the spot! Everything was very fresh, including the bun. I've had stale buns at restaurants lately so it's something I specifically noticed. Spouse had calamari to begin and really liked it. I had French onion soup--decent but I'd skip it next time. We stopped by Nautilus on a Friday night for some bites to eat and a couple drinks during happy hour. We walked in and sat at the bar, the woman bartender was great, very welcoming and was happy to serve us. We've been here before, I myself have really only had the pizza, so I can't speak to the other food but everything always looks appetizing. We opted for some starters, cheesesteak egg rolls, pretzel sticks and a happy hour pizza. The happy hour sides come with about 2 of everything, good size egg rolls and 2 pretzel sticks. Some of the standouts were the cheese dipping sauce for the pretzel sticks and the tenderness of the meat in the eggrolls, very fulfilling. The pizza was once again very good! I believe it's a standard oven, but they make an Italian masterpiece with the pizza. Definitely quality ingredients, cheese is delicious and crust is perfectly crunchy. My first visit to a NEW local restaurant located near Walnut Beach. After reading the Chamber of Commerce " Best of Milford " awards they pulled in, I was intrigued.. The ambiance was comfortable and inviting. Immediately you know you are in a restaurant close to the sound. Seating is comfortable and cozy. The welcome was pleasant , a friendly hello along with a smiling face and eye contact. We were seated quickly during a slightly busy atmosphere. The service was positive and commendable, but the time we had to wait for food was lengthy and drawn out. I asked the woman that seemed to be the Manager .."what is taking so long". (45 mins) She apologized and said the kitchen was backed up do to a large Pizza order. The Mgt was tremendous, working hard and attempting to appease the guest. We ordered Lobster Roll and Salmon ( see pics) The food was good not fantastic but the visit was appealing enough for us to try again. By the looks of things, I believe the food will be much better on our next visit. I think the kitchen getting backed up threw a wrench into their system. We wanted to like this place. It had a lot of stars . We got to the restaurant around 7 . Now I know our group was large (9) but we called ahead and asked if it was OK to come . We were one of the first groups in the restaurant. Tom our server was good and attentive, I believe the problem was the kitchen. So we got served about 2 hours later. My sisters chicken kabobs were bone dry, my sons salmon was supposed to be served with mango and the topping was pineapple. My lobster roll was Ok . Our first visit here even though we are locals! Such a great location. It was a cool summer night and they had the garage door open. I loved the drink options on the menu and my boyfriend got a beer. I decided just to do food though. I got the spicy barbecue chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and my boyfriend got a cheese pizza that he added bacon to. Perfect char. We both REALLY enjoyed our food, and we eat out often so it takes a lot for us to be impressed. There were also a lot of other great options on the menu. I saw someone eating the salmon and it looked bomb. I saw on their website before coming that they were having a promo where healthcare workers could get 30% off their meal which was so cool and they did honor that. Our server was really busy but he still gave us all the attention he could. All the staff was very friendly and the slideshow on the wall of all the staffs favorite food and zodiac sign was really cute. Great food!!! Have been coming here for a while and I love the place so much 10/10 and all the workers are amazing!

My husband and I went there on Wednesday evening and the place as packed. We live close but and it was our first time there. I had the philly steak quesadilla which was amazing. My husband had the steak sandwich and he loved it. He ate the entire sandwich and he usually, never, finishes everything. The beer selection was good as well. The water to me tasted like rubber hose though and I do like to have water with my meals. One other thing (and I know I am getting old) the noise level was just a bit too much for us. I wish the music was played a a low volume so it's in the background. We will be back for sure to try the pizza as they looked fantastic and lots of people were ordering them read more

Thin crust pizza, coconut shrimp, clam chowder, kebabs over rice, burger and fries, chicken Caesar salad wrap and onion rings and fried pickles. Came into Nautilus on a whim one Friday evening. When I walked into the doors I was greeted with an experience that I did not expect. Over the course of a few hours I shared plenty of laughs, enjoyed great food, and even better company. From the patrons to the staff it was all around a night to remember.
