Ate here recently with a group of friends and family. I am reluctant to dole out a negative review, no matter the business. But the food here is almost comical in its repulsiveness. One gets the sense that he is behind a one way mirror, being filmed for the upcoming episode of Will They Puke? The various dishes and food we were served , and attempted to put in our mouths, were revolting in their appearance, their odor, and their taste. Not a single dish was warm--and most were outright cold. This is a beautiful space with great food and great service. Very comfortable bar area and the dining room looks over the golf course and river. Has a nice country club feel. Only thing that was an off note to me was the large wall of wine bottles lit up with bright light. I might dim the light a bit. read more

Took the family here for Mother's Day brunch. This was our first time dining here and it completely exceeded our expectations. Food and service were both great. I had the lobster omelet...loaded with lobster. Wife had the chicken francese. Plenty of selections on the kids menu too. They have outdoor seating but it was a bit chilly this morning. Went for dinner tonight with the family and had an awful experience. My dads burger and bun were burnt. I ordered lobster quesadilla and it had jalapeños in it, even though jalapeños weren't listed in ingredients on the menu. The service was very slow. Great to sit outside and enjoy nice views. The inside is also absolutely exquisite. Could hang at that bar for quite awhile. Food is very good. The staff was friendly and professional. Everyone we interacted with was extremely nice. Had a burger that was tasty but overly salted. Wife had lobster Benedict which was also quite good. However, the two Belgian waffles were a bit over the top and created dryness. Would be better served on muffins or crumpets. Huge drink menu. Tried two and both better than adequate. Now if their daily golf rate and membership rates were lower ($150 weekdays/$8,000) I get get to like this place. read more

We really had a nice time here outside on the deck overlooking the golf course. It was a beautiful evening and the service was fantastic. Drinks and food were good and we were with great friends that made it all the more enjoyable. I would make reservations if you want to be outside. They can get a bit busy, particularly on the weekends. I had a pasta dish that was very good. Others had fish and beef and enjoyed them very much. Just had lunch there for the first time and was very impressed. I think I need to put this place on my list of regular "go to" places. I was with a large group and we ate outside overlooking the golf course. Perfect weather and excellent service made for a very relaxing fun time. The menu was extensive and the food had a beautiful presentation as well as taste. I was very impressed. It is a little off the beaten path but not in a bad way. I had heard it was difficult to find but it really wasn't so much. The staff were excellent and checked on our group frequently. I really enjoy going here on a regular basis. I am a member and a regular at the restaurant. The staff is outstanding the servers attentive to your needs. Wine selection is adequate, cocktails are awesome and atmosphere is great. Sunsets on the balcony are a small slice of heaven. The food can be exceptional or mediocre. That is the the bad part. So if I average it out I have more good meals than bad ones that's why the 4 stars. The key is consistency and attention to detail. The chef while relatively new to this establishment, has been around. He brought in some very good selections. But the menu also needs a weekly specialty ...(ie Thurs Fri Sat) or every other week at a minimum. To have a GREAT meal all aspects need to be right. You can't have a phenomenal steak and cold potatoes or vegetables. I don't want my food sent back when others in my party are have good meals and all is cooked properly. A stunning location and delightful restaurant decor. Sunday brunch promised to be a great find, yet the food preparation and presentation was mediocre at best. Eggs Benedict is the true litmus test of any good brunch. All orders arrived with overcooked poached eggs, the Hollendaise was also overcooked and served sparingly. The plate interestingly had additional meat served with the Benedict (Both bacon and sausage?). The eggs were obviously cooked first and left standing, while the other orders of waffles and French toast were made. Hence they arrived hard boiled. Booked Monty's site unseen for a surprise birthday party as it was a halfway meeting point for family from NY and MA. The restaurant and grounds were beautiful. Private function for 18 was easily planned via email. Dan was extremely accommodating and responsive- right down to our request for a cheese and fruit platter only hours before the function began. Price-fixed menu offered a dozen or more brunch entrees, including mimosas, bloody marys, etc. Substitutions and special dietary requests did not seem to present issues. Pastry baskets were an unexpected treat. The food was excellent and ample, although the timing of the meals arriving at the table was somewhat off. Staff seemed patient with our group's casual desire to mingle with no set departure time, and kind enough to take a group photo. Very pleasant experience. read more

I've been here several times, but only at the bar. The staff is very professional and polite. The cocktails are made perfectly and while the drafts are limited, they are a solid variety. Guinness, Stella, etc. I've only tried a nicks Cheese Cake, and it was great. Carl is a great bartender and so is Caroline. read more

Friends from Orange took us here a month ago for a lovely lunch. We sat outside and the atmosphere was so peaceful - I could have spent all day there. The service was friendly and as our friends eat there regularly (they are not members of the club) the waitress knew what he drinks (Dr Pepper) and they stocked it for him alone!!!! I had the niçoise salad and it was very good. I no longer remember what everyone else ate but everyone enjoyed their lunch. I strongly recommend this place on a beautiful day when you want some peaceful conversation with a friend in a lovely setting over lunch. read more

We made a reservation by Yelp for Mother's Day when we got there they didn't have our reservation and others ones from Yelp. They didn't act very friendly and offer us to seat outside and after 20' of waiting couldn't give us an specific waiting time .... The worst part was the manager asked if we looked at the menu online because the buffet was $49.99 p/ person ... I felt they didn't care and walk away, instead of apologize and find the way to fix the situation asap the manager told us the price of the menu ?! FIrst time out in months. I was so excited to take my wife out for a nice dinner. The positives: the young lady taking care of was wonderful. She was attentive and very friendly. The wine, though pricey was very good. We don't mind paying as long as it's good. The pork chop was cooked very good and was tender and tasty. The not so positives: the calamari was dry and over cooked. The potatoes that came with the pork chop were like diner home fries and were dried out. My wife got the scallops. They were drenched in so much balsamic that it totally over powered the flavor of the scallop. It was served with mashed potatoes that were piped onto the plate like at a wedding banquet and they were ice cold. To be fair, they did offer to bring another plate of which we declined. We hate being those people and it wasn't the food itself but the way it was prepared. We would have gotten the same meal again. They also offered a dessert on the house but we didn't want the sweets. In the end they took off $4-5 dollars. If you look, I rarely write reviews but the place is too good of a location to serve mediocre meals. In my opinion, if this is their normal quality they need to up their game. The quality does match the price or the wonderful setting. read more

We visited today for brunch and we thought the food and service were excellent. The waitresses were very nice and accommodating. I ordered a breakfast burger and my fiancé ordered the eggs Benedict. My burger was cooked exactly how I wanted it. His egg was cooked perfectly and the yolk was nice and runny. We each had a flavored Bellini, which we enjoyed. Went there today for lunch with my parents. Order our drinks and food at the same time. Our server was very shitty at her job. The food comes out, we ordered two bowls of chili both were cold, but the bowl was hot. Sent those back, and the order of nachos and sweet potato fries. The chef came back out with the two chili, still not hot!! No favor and the chef said it was heated up to 165 degrees. We told him do he use a thermometer? Because you didn't temp this. He just walked away... Really?? Great serve, NOT!! No manager came out to talk to us! I'm a cook and there is no way in hell that chili was ever 165 degrees!! Save your self don't go there!! Been here many times. Beautiful facility and golf course. There is always an extremely nice wait staff and hostess and these are the reasons we come here. We went to brunch here last Sunday and it took one hour to get the luke warm plates out to the table. The waiter disappeared. Other staff helped courteously when they could but this is not acceptable. I believe there was another large party (wedding?) on the other side of the building who may have overwhelmed the chef but come on, there were three tables in the entire dining room. Although it was not hot, the food was better than previous visits but Monty's needs to work on getting the food out to the paying customers. Just had a wonderful meal. We both had the salmon entree. I had crab cakes and my husband had carpaccio. Delicious! We happened to be the only patrons on a rainy Wednesday evening. We were apologetic because we were not sure if they were hoping to close early. Each person assured us they were fine and we did not have to rush. Tonight was the first visit to Monty's for this year, beautiful night and arranged an outside table. My wife and I were very disappointed. We felt rushed, though they were not busy. The shrimp cocktail app tasted like it was left over from some catered event several nights ago; dry, mealy, and no flavor. I really should have returned it. My main course, applewood smoked bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, was done quit nice. I felt the service was not attentive nor was there an attitude to 'serve' and ensure the customer experience was one that wanted me to come back. We watched the elderly couple next to us being served their salad when they were midway through their entree. Sorry, not going back after going for the past two years. read more
