I haven't been here in years, as I was not a huge fan. We were in the area as usual on Saturday afternoon and decided to give it a try again. The restaurant has its own parking and I was able to grab a spot. We sat at a high booth in the main restaurant. Table was nice. Good menu. We ordered Cajun wings and burgers. This place is loud and the tap beer was "down" how is that possible? , We're not sure but the bartender might have been on drugs, he was running around like he was very busy but he wasn't really doing anything, it was a very weird vibe. We finished up at the little league fields next door and I had recognized the SBC logo on the way in back from the Branford location. Obviously, we had to go for old time and to our delight there was live music when we walked in. We were greeted and seated promptly with a view of the stream down from the window. The waitress was very polite and brought everything we needed. As I can be needy with more ketchup with my fries and some additional boiling for my turkey burger that was a little dry. Service was friendly. Dining room was lit just right - not too bright and not so dark that you can't see the menu. Lots of outside light through the huge windows. I don't get this place. It does not have a good beer selection - fairly average - and the margarita I got was practically water. The food menu was robust, but the food wasn't so great. They were out of cheese kegs, which was a bummer. The beef tips were incredibly chewy (though sauce was ok). Music, at least on the patio, was all over the place, and we mostly cringed at the selection. Our waitress was nice and relatively attentive, but I don't plan to be back. read more

Being a long time Milford resident, I can't say enough good things about SBC! I've frequented them over the last several years and have never been disappointed! Known for their craft beers selection, delicious pub food, and casual atmosphere- SBC is a must stop! The restaurant has a great outdoor seating for a quick drink, an indoor bar & restaurant for lunch or dinner and even has a beautiful back event room! They always have something going on, whether it's a theme night, trivia, or game day! Usually pretty solid, but tonight was a Sh#t Sh*w!... They have way too many servers on just standing around chatting & doing nothing- cut a few of them and put an extra bartender on. Starting with our waitstaff person Ava to our very filling lunch it was a nice surprise to have lunch there. Living almost walking distance we usually think of going far off for lunch but decided to try the place that we pass hundreds of times. It was well worth changing our habit. The hamburger was told to be very good and my lobster roll was huge and delicious. The food was very good and the help was very friendly. Has really great food and has great accommodations even outside with a heated area due to cold weather. Only thing I would say is that they have gluten-free options on the menu however they are not celiac approved. They use the same oil for all of their fried options, but other than that, they have a lot of great options that are gluten-free Just not celiac approved and their staff is phenomenal and the wait time was easy on a busy Saturday night. My cousins and I went to SBC late on a Saturday night. There were a lot of people in the restaurant but we were promptly seated at a booth. Service was a bit slow but our waitress was extremely friendly. For appetizers, we ordered crispy brussel sprouts, which even the non-vegetable eaters loved, downtown nachos with short rib, which were delicious and a goat cheese bruschetta special, which was packed with flavor. If we only ate appetizers, SBC would have gotten 5 stars in my book. For dinner, my cousin ordered a caesar salad with steak. While the salad was okay, there was barely any dressing and my cousin indicated that the steak was tough and hard to eat, which was disappointing. My other cousin ordered the roasted chicken burrito bowl, which he really enjoyed. I ordered the birdhouse, which is a crispy chicken sandwich. The sandwich was a little dry, but I thought it was good. Overall, SBC is a good restaurant that I would go back to. I would encourage SBC to work on their wait times (it took a long time for drinks and our food to come out) and increase their focus on their dinner entrees. read more

SBC has been a staple in downtown Milford for many years. Even after the deSilva brothers closed the original Fairfield location to open their new BAD SONS brewery in Derby the downtown Milford location stayed. SBC has an extensive beer selection with many from CT including their own BAD SONS brand. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food menu is good and the food itself was better during my most recent visit than it has been in the past. SBC has a private parking lot which is a perk for this downtown location. The large windows provide various views including to the road, down to the river and out over the harbor. It has a cool vibe, an open floor plan, lots of windows and plenty of seating. A back room can be rented for private parties. There is entertainment in the evenings and a fun place to meet up with friends read more

Props and big thanks to the staff at SBC! I had a chaotic situation and had no idea how many people were going to come to this event but they were up to the task! They kindly warned us about trivia night, provided amazing service throughout the night- and went out of their way to set up a table for us. Our waiter and the host was friendly and helpful and super organized given the amount of separate checks we had. On March 22.2025 I came to this restaurant for my son's 18th birthday. Yet we were running late I truly appreciated them still having us still. we had a party of I guess 13 people. When we first arrived the waitress was spot on. But into dinner the waitress didn't check on us as often as we thought she should have. The appetizers we had were amazing but my entree was mid. my steak bites was fatty,chewy and hard to cut.i guess everyone else at the table loved there food.what made me write the review was the waitress she (and I apologize for writing it so late but it really left a sour taste in my mouth). So when it was time to get the check my son's friends gave me cash a few paid by credit cards and 120 dollars his friends gave me. I was going to take care the rest of the bill. Well the whole bill was 400.i thought. When she brought us back the slips to sign it still read 300 dollars so I had to wait till she came back and I asked the waitress. Why is my bill still over 3 hundred dollars ?...she said she thought I said she could have the 120.00 dollars and put the rest on my credit card. (which I was was going to definitely tip her).but she took it upon herself to take the 120 for her tip. Which was dead wrong on her. We chose SBC for the parking lot and casual quick dining. Downtown Milford is a tough place to park so having a restaurant with a parking lot was a big plus. I sat at the bar to wait for my friend and was greeted by our bartender pretty quickly. The wait times for food and drinks were probably above average and the food was really good. I got a spicy chicken wrap from the specials menu. It was packed with flavor and the fries were perfectly seasoned and just the right crisp. We just had a really great meal at SBC Restaurant. The ambiance is really cool, comfortable & unique. Our waitress was super helpful when I couldn't decide between 2 different meals. My husband's Mango Cart Wheat Beer was delicious as was my Peach Sangria. And I had the coolest seat overlooking a river. I got the cod over a cilantro fried rice with arugula. He got the Stonehouse Burger and we devoured an appetizer of Brussel Sprouts which was like eating dessert before our meal. We'll definitely be back the next time we are up this way. read more

Very cool place to go with friends and a great location right in the center of downtown Milford, but the food wasn't too good, the burger was really big but it was soggy because of all the oil and freeze and the bun was also extremely soggy because of all the grease. I placed an order that was delivered by Uber Eats. Unfortunately, SBC left out 2 of the 6 items in the order. When I called them, they knew exactly what they didn't give me, as it was prepped and ready, just not put with the order. They refused to help, even after completely acknowledging that it was totally their fault. It's a shame, because the food they did send was good, but why should anyone pay for a whole meal and only get 2/3 of it? I had fish and chips which were quite good - a good portion very fresh and tasty. The person I was with had beef tips which they said were excellent. Prices here are pretty much average. My husband and I have been coming here for a while, came here today with the intentions of having a great time and meal as always, the host sat us, we looked thru the menus and were ready to order, NOT ONE PERSON came over to us, at least acknowledge us to let us know someone will be right over, sat there for 20 minutes, maybe longer with not even water served to us. Extremely disappointed, staff needs better communication. I would've understood if it was busy, but the place had about 5 tables and there were about 4-5 people working and we just seemed to be INVISIBLE. I just don't know if it will draw the bad crowd design from stonebridge. If it doesn't this place would easily have 4 stars. Forgot to review when I was here last! Love the beef tips. Good beer selection. Fast service. Wish happy hour wasn't limited to the bar because it's tiny and gets full. I ordered the berry sangria without realizing it was red sangria and tried to grab someone as fast as possible before it was made, even told the hostess and another waiter. Needless to say our waiter brought the berry sangria over and the waiter was like sorry we already poured it and gave it to me to drink. I sipped it and didn't even drink it I just wish they could have had a little better customer service and gave me the drink I wanted after I made all the effort to make the change known. Their beer and beer selections are good. The food is ok; I think the menu has been designed to make sure people eat while they are drinking. The new interior furnishings are awful. Cold, uncomfortable, too tall and now, it is noisy everywhere inside. I choose to dine here for the parking and outdoor seating and order the simplest dishes on the menu.
