I went in for some highlights and root touch up, my appointment was at 10am, I arrived on time and was greeted by the stylist. The experience with her was really good, she was very nice and took time to understand what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the color of the highlights came out pinkish, she tried a couple different toners but to no avail it did not capture what I was looking for, another stylist assisted and stripped off the initial colors, my scalp was starting to burn because of all the products and all the washing of my hair. My neck was also starting to hurt because I was laying back in the wash area for a total of an hour while they tried to correct my hair color. I am really disappointed because they charged me $197.00 and it was 2:30pm, I asked for some kind of a discount or anything for the inconvenience and being stuck there for 4.5 hours. The highlights came out okay, some brassy areas, but my scalp at this point was burning and my neck was also hurting. They did not offer anything to me for the inconvenience. I am very disappointed, the manager called me and told me she couldn't do anything. I work with customers all day and I would at least offer some kind of discount or voucher or anything at this point for keeping someone for 4.5 hours to correct their own mistake. I still provided the stylist with a tip for her time and effort because I understand the work they do, but very disappointed with them not caring about their customers time. Went to Citrus Salon for the first time today. Found Ash through a friend as she specializes in curly hair. This exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could imagine. It's a really cool place very open yet personal. Ash really listened and understood what I was looking for. She took her time washing and massaging my scalp. Overall customer service, color, and cut, 10/10! I called citrus on a Wednesday night, I had gotten my hair dyed and absolutely hated it (see attached photo) and called them a few hours after for an emergency color correct. I had heard about them and seen them on Instagram but was scared of the pricing. I didn't even care at that point, I looked like a skunk and would've paid an arm and a leg. The receptionist was extremely sympathetic and told me to email my photos and they'd get back to me to book me an appointment within the evening. Someone got to my email and asked me some questions, then I was assigned to Chelsea, who emailed me back with what she had planned for my hair. They were also able to book me at 6pm the next day! So I come in and they greet me, etc etc, Chelsea consults with me and we discuss what I want. I was extremely nervous considering my hair was so thin and fried from the bleach job. She told me not to worried and insisted she'd fix me. Oh man was she right!! I literally cried when my hair was done being dried. She took me from stripey to completely melted blonde and gorgeous! I had a great experience at Citrus Salon yesterday! I like my hair short and it has been hard for me to find someone who will cut it, I booked an appointment with Chelsea and my hair came out AMAZING! She listened to what I wanted and talked with me about what would be best for my face. I walked out so happy with my hair that I booked my next appointment! My daughter also got her hair cut by Sydney. My daughter has a lot of hair, she likes long layers. Sydney looked at her hair, talked to my daughter and to me about how much to cut, how much to layer after the cut, Sydney also talked to my daughter about how much conditioner to use. My daughter was so thrilled with her hair, she wanted to brush it all night. Both stylists were great yesterday. I am in in love!! My friend recommended this place so the 3 of us actually booked an appointment to come together! There were a couple issues with my appointment and stylist change but over all I can look past that because i am so so in love with my hair! Ash was super friendly and told me that i actually didn't need a balayage and just needed a root melt and gloss which was way more affordable than i expected. I also went for the deep conditioning treatment since my hair is super dry and always tangled heh. Every customer was far away from each other and everyone was wearing masks. The one thing that caught me by surprise was probably the mini head massage i got with the deep conditioning. It was AMAAAZING!! Ash did a great job cutting my hair as well and making sure it was exactly what I wanted. I never felt uncomfortable speaking and letting her know what i wanted. She really listens to you! I didn't have time to go to my regular salon an hour away so I booked a last minute appointment for a haircut with Viviana and it was amazing! I'm pretty picky with my bangs and protective of my hair as stylists are always trying to take off more length than I want off a basic trim (I get it, it's dead. But it's long and I love it don't cross me ) I walked in with a frizzy overgrown mop and walked out an hour later with beautiful flat ironed hair. I was looking for a place where I could get a great haircut. I found this place on yelp. I called and they answered right away. They take your credit card to save your spot. Once you go the time of your appointment you txt and they txt you back once they are ready to take you to the chair. They give you sanitizer and check your temperature before they even take you back. I was scheduled with holly. This was my first time here this place is beautiful inside. Also every station is very well separated. Holly took her time and explained everything perfectly. I felt very comfortable from the beginning. Once we figured out what I wanted then I went back to the shampoo chair. Holly gave me the best head massage ever. They use amazing shampoo definitely high end products. When holly was done my hair cut looked amazing . I have never been happier with my hair. It is a little pricey but worth every penny. Citrus Salon is definitely the best salon. We moved from Martinez to Oakley and the drive was a bit much for me. I went to three other salons and they just couldn't get my hair right. Even the other Aveda salon, who I gave the formula too, didn't follow the formula. I was so disappointed and decided the drive is not a big deal and immediately called Citrus to schedule an appointment. Sarah was booked until the end of the year, which really didn't surprise me. :) I was able to book my appointment with the fabulous Adam! He got the ugly green out of my hair and got it back to looking beautiful! He is also up-to-date on the latest techniques and I love it! Roni always amazes me! I've been coming to her for a few years now. Even after moving to San Francisco last year, I make the drive out to Citrus because I couldn't find better than Roni even in the city. I recently took the plunge and started the process of lifting my very dark brunette virgin hair to an icy blonde balayage (!!!) and Roni has made sure every step looks amazing in the process. Also she'a just a ton of fun and I look forward to talking to her each visit. The salon itself is BEAUTIFUL and every person I've come in contact with is so sweet and accommodating. There's always someone at the front to greet you and assist with purchasing any products (I always do - the Aveda dry shampoo and texture tonic are AMAZING!) After a crack surfaced in my long-standing loyalty to a salon in Walnut Creek, I took a chance on a new shop - Citrus Salon, which I had popped into several times during the Martinez wine strolls and other fun downtown events. The brightly colored walls, always-changing original art work and young hip vibe was always very appealing to me, and I was happy to finally have a reason to give them my patronage, 100% guilt free! It's turned out to be one of the best beauty choices I ever made! I made a cut appointment with Jessica about a week out, and she started my weekend right with a Friday afternoon haircut and a complimentary glass of red wine. In an hour I had developed a great rapport with her, and with very little guidance from me, she gave me probably the best haircut of my life. I had always read about your perfect haircut looking good on you even when you don't put in a huge styling effort - it should still work for your hair type and face shape. And really for the first time in my life, it does! I've never gotten so many compliments in my life on my hair, and even when I leave the house with wet hair, the end result is a still a good style. I got my hair cut today by Danitza. I love it! She really listened to me and made sure we were both on the same page. I felt super comfortable! She was also very knowledgable.. I made an appointment for a cut and color via email and was booked with Sarah Frank. The soonest weekend appointment available was about a month away, which was pretty much what I was expecting because of all the great reviews. My excitement got the best of me and I arrived a little early for my appointment. I was kindly greeted and offered something to drink while I waited. Once it was my turn, I sat at Sarah's chair and we talked for a little bit about what I wanted to do. She went to the back to mix the color and before I knew it, she was applying it to my hair. Fast-forward to when she dried a section of my hair to let me see and decide on whether I was happy with the shade of red. I wanted to go more red and she went back to work on my mane. After the color, Sarah cut and curled my new red hair. It was a lighter red than what I had hoped, but I figured it was just something to get used to; however before I left, Sarah said that I could contact the salon if I wanted to tone the red down. As much as I liked the color, I didn't feel like myself with the shade of red so I emailed the salon the next day (Monday). They replied the same day and someone from the salon (I think her name was Ashley) even called on Tuesday to follow-up with me since I hadn't emailed back (silly me, I never hit send). I met with Sarah again a few days later. After she mixed a magical Aveda concoction, she applied it, waited a little while, washed it out, and then dried and curled my hair. I kid you not, the color is PERFECTION. I don't ever want it to fade (but alas, it's red so booooo). I'm so happy with how it turned out and I seriously cannot stop looking at my hair, I love it so much. Thank you Sarah! After going to many salons I've finally found one I can call home. This salon is my absolute favorite! Thanks to a friend of mine for the referral. Allyson has been my hair stylist my last two visits and she is awesome! I came in for a consultation before my actual appointment and she was able to take a look at my hair and let me know whether wed be able to achieve the look that I want. During my actual appointment she would thoroughly explain what she was doing as well as going over expectations again. She made me feel very comfortable with her and the process. She was able to make the horrible cut I was given a week before blend in and look way better and give me a balayage of my liking! The staff is SO nice. The salon is so clean and modern. In past salons I've been to most of the stylist didn't really have their hair done so you'd look around and really wonder what your hair would end up looking like. I was advised Zac would be a great fit for my personality and my desires to go lighter blonde and deal with my annoying gray hair. I had my first appointment with Zac this weekend and he was GREAT! He's so personable! I had a small job done to cover up gray hair and a trim and my friends complimented it immediately and asked who did my hair. Zac was very caring and attentive and I feel a great asset to Citrus! I've always been very picky with my hair and who does it and I feel Hollie chose a great fit! Let me be real honest, I'm 27 and I can't do my own hair but I can take your kidney out. However like any twenty something I'm trying to put more love in my looks and I recently starting visiting Chelsea at citrus to get my hair done. I came in the first time and I just showed pictures on Pinterest that I liked (as one does). I have zero lingo but she understood me and has been helping me keep up my hair. I'm very happy. I asked how much a full color and haircut would be before I came. I was quoted a range of 145-175 which is already pricy but the salon has good reviews. I sit in the chair and am told it will be the high end of the quote for only highlights with a haircut will be 225 which is a-lot more. I have limited time which I allocated for this so went with the haircut. For the price, quality of service, and my time, I am disappointed. Y'al I was in need of a haircut. I had been playing with my split ends for days. Since I moved to the area I have been wanting to try a local place and of course heard excellent things about Citrus. I decided to try their Educational program because it's very affordable and I needed to stick to the budget. I emailed to get an appointment and was booked with Mikela for my haircut. There's no gimmick and the experience was as other yelpers have said. The salon is gorgeous, modern, clean, and friendly. The educational Director oversaw my haircut, which was a lovely detail; and I felt like they were actually trying to give great quality along with the quantity. I've used Groupon and other discounted services and have felt like I don't get good service. Citrus doesn't make you feel less than for getting a less expensive haircut. Mikela was friendly and spunky. I enjoyed my experience and will be back for more services. My second visit I had Elle who was the "New Talent" level. She was delightful! She continuously checked in with me for my color (balayage) and cut. I really appreciated her checking in because it allowed for my input and made sure she she was on track with what I was hoping to get out of my visit. She was overseen by Sarah and they were so kind and accommodating. Elle took care with each stage of the process (takes about 3 hrs for that treatment) and her passion for the salon and her profession shined through. They have snacks, refreshments, and magazines to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Great client services!! read more
