I came here with my boyfriend to shoot for the very first time. I have lots and lots of trauma with handguns and it took a lot to work through some of that PTSD. We walked in and were immediately greeted like a friend by an associate named Mack. My experience there was top notch!! I never once felt shamed or discouraged from being there, even when I cried. Staff were all very friendly and made sure to encourage me, every step of the way. We were given a booth far away from everyone else, as a courtesy and I was warned about how loud it may get before we ever stepped foot inside. Once Mack noticed I had been crying, I was offered a water and encouraged not to give up. I ended up firing a gun 4 times that day and felt very proud of my accomplishments. We paid an outstanding price for the amount of time we were there and over all would recommend this place to anyone. best. date. ever. read more

Seriously the best 99 dollars I ever spend. I booked a cwp class with City Arsenal and instructor Johannah is seriously one of the best instructor ever, the class came with a rental gun, ear protection eye protection and a target as well. The finger printing and all the government stuff are also included as well as a one month free pass to the range. There is no way they are making money on this, it's like a charity to protect our rights. The store is very clean and the staff are all very nice, you feel welcome the moment you step in the store. Even the ammos are below regular price, seriously how does this place even make money. But the best part is still the lesson, I learned so much especially on how to shoot. I feel I am much better shooter after the class. The instructor really try to help you so you know your rights and make sure you won't get into trouble. There website showed that they had an S&W item in stock. I called the store to confirm, and they said the item was in stock. I asked them if I purchased the item today (Thursday) when the item could be shipped out. They said Friday morning. I made the purchase and supplied them with the transfer information. Friday rolled by, and I gave them a call on Saturday since the sale was on hold according to their website. They said that the transfer store failed to get back with them. I then called the transfer store to find out what was wrong. I know these people at the transfer store, and they are usually on top of this kind of thing. They told me they were never contacted by City Arsenal. I canceled the sale since the gun was never in stock. The only reason I gave them a two star rating instead of a one star was because their return credit was issued promptly. This practice is certainly not unheard of by some gun dealers. read more

Not a bad shooting range I've been shooting there for a while it just seems like when they hired this new guy that wears the hat always claims that I smell like weed and it's only him I literally was checking in with one guy and then he walks up and makes that comment it's disappointing and embarrassing I honestly feel like it's because we are African American and are young teens. Great place to go if you want to have some fun or blow off some steam. Me and my buddy went here after work to shoot a few rounds. The staff here is extremely friendly and very accommodating. The lanes are clean and a good size I believe that there are about 10 total. It's $10 per lane or $7.50 per person if you decide to split it. Their prices are reasonable on the ammo however you may be able to get a better deal on the firearms somewhere else (pawn shops, academy sports, etc.) We had a great time shooting and would definitely visit them again. Make sure to bring your own eye and ear protection or you will be charged a fee to borrow theirs. read more

It's the first indoor shooting range opened in Greenville, SC and I'm really impressed with the entire place. 13 lanes for shooting, separated into 2 bays, one for pistols only and the other for pistols and rifles. They offer a great selection of guns to rent (why buy when you can rent first!), they have a large selection of gun paraphernalia and their staff is really helpful with answering any questions. They also offer gun 101 and concealed weapons classes in the same location. I've gone twice and both times I've had the pleasure of talking with the owner and seeing why he takes such pride in his establishment. Everyone there is super nice and during the week it's fairly quiet and easy to get on a lane. It's air conditioned, it's clean and it really feels more like a "hang out" than a range! Beware if you're going on Saturdays, it fills up fast and stays packed! Ok, finally, the only reason I didn't give my review 5 stars is because although you don't have to have a membership, you can save a little money by doing so. I will say it is TOTALLY worth it if you plan on doing a lot of shooting through the year (even just once a month pays off), however, for what you pay, I think the membership should offer more. Currently, when you buy a membership the only benefit you get is that you don't have to pay for your lane. I think it should be expanded to give members a discount on purchases and ammo as well. But that's just me and frankly, it doesn't stop me from going. read more

I took my CCP permit here with Johannes a few months ago. I passed the course, all was fine. I have not received my CCP license yet. I called the store a dozen times to make sure SLED had been sent my paperwork. With each call I get "The mailbox is full". no one answers. Because a phone call does not work I drove to the place and was treated so rudely. I simply asked if they could make sure my paperwork had been sent to SLED. I spoke to three different "managers", including Ricardo. Each one ruder and more clueless then the other. Here is what they said..."No it was not possible to speak to Johannes". "No it was not possible to see if SLED had been sent the results of my course". "No it was not possible to speak to the owner of the store". "No, there is nothing to be done". They took my money, I passed the course, and yes I know SLED takes a while to process things but they could have tried to be a little bit helpful. I only wanted to make sure that City Arsenal sent my paperwork. I finally found the owner's phone number and guess what..."the mailbox is full". Customer service here is crap. read more

I've been shooting here for quite sometime. A safe, well lit, clean indoor range. Fair prices for ammo, targets, etc. When I first discovered Allen Arms I hadn't shot in years. They set me up with an instructor (off duty Highway Patrol Officer) for a half hour to get me back up to speed on a .40 I wanted to try out. The staff is always helpful and all about safety. I bring my own ammo when I shoot and they charge a small fee for doing so. (Hey, it's a business so I don't mind.) They offer a Military discount so bring your ID!! It can be busy on Saturday mornings but during the week I've never had to wait on a shooting lane. You can rent any weapon in the store to try out at the range for a small fee. read more

The staff and the owner are absolute class acts. They provide an excellent place for indoor shooting, weekly shooting competitions and great customer service. The selection of in stock weapons is good to excellent depending on what you're into. Ammo is always in stock and they offer range ammo that is cheaper than WalMart. Allen Arms also offers excellent training courses in a variety of firearms. Dave P was my CCW instructor. Though I had a lot of experience shooting handguns he took the time to make sure I fully understood the laws of S.C and how they relate to a CCW holder in SC. John one of the sales reps and Dave are two of the best competition shooters in the upstate. Not just employees but die hard gun enthusiasts. Frank the owner is such a nice dude. read more

BEWARE THE TRIAL MEMBERSHIP THEY GIVE YOU WITH THE CWP CLASS IS NOT A REAL MEMBERSHIP!! Me and my girlfriend took the CWP class here in the 30th. The class was great, no complaints there. Mike was a great instructor and it was fun. Today we decided to use the trial "membership" they give you when you complete the class. In the pamphlet they give you about the membership it says gun rentals are free, you just have to pay for the ammo. We try a few of their rental guns and it went great. UNTIL it's time to pay. They charge us $60 for renting the guns. When I ask the guy about it he just goes "oh the membership you get with the class doesn't include gun rentals sorry". We gave him our membership cards when we got there and he knew damn well we where expecting the gun rentals to be free. GO TO SHARPSHOOTERS INSTEAD!! read more

Lanes are 10 bucks, bringing your own ammo is 5 more. We were able to enjoy a few hours of training and experience on the line seeeveral different scenarios with real life themes. I learned a few new tatics and will be more confident in my skill. Looking forward to going again. read more

What a great place to spend a few hours. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. Also, they let you rent a wide variety of weapons for one price. Being first time shooters, we were given a very detailed description of how to correctly handle the weapons. We shot a variety of hand guns, a shotgun, and finally an AK-47. This is a really nice place, catering to beginners and experts alike. It's particularly welcoming to women, which, I understand, was intentional from the get-go. They give CWP classes among many other types of training. Bowling pin matches and similar are held several times a month. (Mere words cannot describe how much fun that is!) Fees are reasonable; $10 for unlimited range time (unless there is a line of people waiting to shoot, which generally only happens on weekend evenings), and $5 for extra people to use the same lane. So for three people, it comes to 20 bucks plus ammo, for as long as you want to shoot. Not bad at all. They also have a very good selection of firearms, including Class 3 stuff if you're into that, and their own in-house gunsmith. Clothing, tactical gear, holsters, safes, and more are also on the menu. Plus, it has been my experience that if they don't have what you're looking for, they're more than willing to order it for you. My only real "complaint" is that a couple of the employees could seriously stand some improvement in their customer service skills. This is pretty much all that keeps this place from getting five stars. read more

I visited some 3 years ago with an army of brits and my son who had just married an american lady.We have thankfully nothing like this in UK, however I want to experience everything in my life so I rented a Dirty Harry special and blew some holes in target, then left to visit the tool shop opposite, leaving all the young English bucks to blast away. A very well run professional place, the tall lady manager was particularly interesting, as she was interested in our uk gunpowder history, especially the gunpowder plot in the 17th century, so how many readers of this know about our protestant/catholic aggro; November 5th; and who Guido(Guy) Fawkes was ? Oh by the way, we brits had to show our DRIVING licences, not Drivers licenses, we do speak and write differently, so please when you come to uk you make an effort and speak the correct lingo. I have been going to Allen Arms for 3 years, and I always enjoy stopping by. Their firearms selection is great, ammo prices are very reasonable, and staff are helpful and friendly. Their range is clean, but sometimes it is a bit crowded. Even at peak times, I have always been able to rent a lane. They are very safety-oriented and don't tolerate irresponsible behavior, so it is a safe environment. I have been to all of the local indoor ranges, and I try to remain loyal to the businesses that were here first. I do shop around, but I can assure you that their prices are very competitive on firearms- especially if they are running a sale/promotion. I compared several prices vs Cabelas, and AA was close to 15% less before discounts/promotional deals. The downsides? Honestly, the only downside is that their parking lot fills up fast and there is usually a decent crowd there. Even if they are busy and you're just there for window-shopping, they make sure to come right over to you and strike up a fun conversation. I usually stop by a few times a month and will continue to do so! read more

Just bought my first gun from here. Chose this place because of the great reviews and they were right. The staff are great. They made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions and then some. Getting your CWP here also gives you a free membership for 1 year. I plan to do that as well. They have classes where they can teach you how to shoot at more advanced levels. They have a nice selection of guns and range rentals.
