Took my car to City Auto for a tune up and oil change. Dropped car off at 9 am they called me about one pm said I needed a new alignment as well. I said oh no problem if it needs to be done please do it. They called me at 4:45 and said my car was done. I picked up my car and drove it home. It felt better then it started feeling weird. I got extremely worried so I had my car so I had to towed to a different ship out of town. The new shop said that City Auto broke my manifold and coils. City Auto Mechanic did not Aline the top manifold with the bottom correctly. They forced it on and drilled a whole new hole in my car manifold. I couldn't believe it. Called City Auto to ask them how they are going to resolve the situation. They said they wanted the car back to fix it. I didn't feel comfortable with that. Because if they were competition in the first place it would've never been broken and I would have had to take it to a second shop. They said they would call me back I waited all weekend city auto never called back never told me what they wanted to do about my car so I called them after waiting for four days I called them and the business owner wanted to speak over me didn't listen to anything I had to say didn't tell me that if he was going to pay for it to get fixed or if he was going to do anything about it I've been without a car for two weeks now struggling to get back-and-forth to work. City Auto's mentality is not of any concern how this carelessness of his mechanic is impacting our whole family's life. With no car. Customer service in dealing with this matter totally sucks!! Probably have to take this matter to court to get any type of resolution back. No rental car was offered nothing. My car is a big part of my life. I love my car! I try and take care of it and it is not a cheep car. 2016 Dodge Challenger. They just mangled my poor little car never take your car here! Ever! This happened a while ago however I got a diagnostic for a chevy. One of the front desk guys seemed nice and reliable, but they told me it was going to cost about 800$ or 900$ to replace a upper arm control. It was a complete lie and scandalous price, went to Sears the next day and told me it was the lower control arm and it would be about 500$. After various times of being my truck here for services, it always seemed like I had to take it back for some adjusting and trying to be tricked out of more money. This place surcharges the sh*t out of the parts being used while using the cheapest parts available. Today I went in to see what could be done about a flat on a tire I purchased here, roughly a year ago. When I bought the tire I was told they had 60k warranty on them. So I go in, tell him what the problem was, he makes a phone call, and simply says he can't get that specific tire because of *waiving finger in air* virus. So just throw out the warranty he himself promised. So I drove up the road to America's tire and got the problem solved. DO NOT GO HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE FEMALE!!! This place will take advantage of you. The guy who runs the place barely speaks English and doesn't give you an itemized receipt. So he will quote you a deal for work to be done, make you wait a few hours while the mechanics come into the waiting area to stare at you and then bill you for things that were never done to your vehicle. After spending $200 to have dye put in my AC, tires balanced and alignment adjusted I brought it back to have the AC looked at again. Dude gave me some story and it has yet to be fix. I brought it back again when my window stopped working, Dude said it would be $200-$500 to fix depending on the parts. I found out at another shop that it was just a broken fuse that costs about 15 cents! Not only that, but my new mechanic said that the car definitely needed to be aligned and needed new tires. This place was from a recommendation for alignments for modified vehicles. I was looking for what I had in the bay. The first visit, the tech was able to perform a 4-wheel job.. keep in mind, not all shops will perform a 4-wheel alignment. Good alignmemt outcome, no feedback, which is okay, I can understand final specs. The second time at their new shop, the younger dude did the job. Didn't feel confident, but let the job proceed. Finished and paid...drove off. I had issues and did not get a welcome, get it on the rack discussion. Find out a few days later, one of my wheels have a scratch on the barrel. Obviously, the young dude was trying to "fit" the sensor. Can't prove it, but oh well. Two starts just due to the first job. Next time I work on my car and need an alignment, I will get the cheapo service down on 11th, then drive out to my old shop in the city to get a REAL ALIGNMENT. read more

Great Business!! Not only do they have great prices but he runs an ultra clean shop and customer lounge. Harry is always friendly and respectful and points you to the remote control on a mounted LCD TV in a VERY clean customer lounge area were he has a refrigerator with water, juice and soda for his clients. And the LCD TV has a paid version of Netflix and Amazon Prime to watch whatever you want while waiting which I thought was a nice touch. Bathroom is spotless and we'll decorated and actually smells good, another nice touch I wouldn't expect to find at an auto repair place. I have had my Yukon and Infiniti both worked on here and had new tires put on both my vehicles shortly after I moved to Tracy from Livermore. His prices are as good as any other shop as I checked him before I came the first time and what I liked is he gave me price ranges from low to high. Overall he definitely deserves 5 stars. I will no longer bring my business to this establishment. I had first brought my car In for a wheel alignment after some repairs I did. Car drove straight again with the steering wheel a bit off center but I looked past it. Took my car back for a second alignment after more repairs were done and this time it was pulling to the right and steering wheel was off again. The gentleman and I took it for a test drive and did confirm it was pulling and blaming it on my rear tires being bad and camber. No one said anything when it was first aligned and drove straight AND I didn't come back to complain. I simply just ask to fix the problem and he refuse to. There was nothing done or changed to the wheels and tires between the 2 times it was aligned. F*ck this place read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars, my AC went out and the fan wasn't even blowing, so I bring it in and they tell me They need to drain my Freon to diagnose the issue, this was incorrect and they didn't need to do this at all. After they charged me to drain and replace the Freon they tell that it's the motor or blower and they need to do more diagnostics to verify and that it can be 600 just for the fan! So I called another repair shop explained what happened and he told me straight out that the Freon didn't need to be drained and the problem was the blower motor and draining the Freon was unnecessary! So this place did an unnecessary job to charge me 160. Then my AC isn't keeping cold so I call and they say bring it in. Mind you I live in Palo Alto and they are located in Tracy! 1.5 hours away from me! So I take a day off work and drive my ass all the way over to have the unhelpful man at the front that they need to do a diagnostic and it's gonna be another $95!!!! He never told me that over the phone he said oh yea bring it in and we will look at it for u. So now I drove in traffic for something he could of told me over the phone! NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE! Was stuck out of county, and the tow company dropped me off here. They managed to get me in and out the same day, and I know they worked very hard to do so, driving across the city to acquire the necessary parts just before they closed. Reasonable price and my car is fixed. The following day, they called me to make sure I made it home and that the car was still working properly. Just for this company...I became a yelper. I normally take my car to the dealership which is Chevy, however Chevy doesn't have a technician on hand on Saturdays. City Auto Care and Tire which is the name printed on my receipt is close to home, so I take my in my car for an engine check light issue and was told my cam control valve was bad. With diagnostic, parts and labor my charge was roughly $200. OK...I went with that and also asked if they could change my spark plugs in the process (that changed the price to $340)... the owner then advised my oil was low and I told him to NOT change my oil, I will do my regular maintenance with the dealership. A couple of hours later, I pick up my car and was adv by the owner he changed my oil anyway and would only charge me $20.00...again I'm like ok, sure no problem. I get in my vehicle drive the few minutes home and my engine light came back on. I immediately went back to the shop and the owner and tech checked for codes and cleared them. Next morning which was Sunday, I drive to the store and engine light returns, I take my car back the next day (Monday). They do the same thing, clear all codes and say car is safe to drive. On Friday I leave work, drive about 30 mins and as soon as I reach home my engine light returns and my car cuts off........Now I'm pissed. Take my car back on Saturday (a week from when this all started) and I'm told a couple of parts from the original problem needs to be replaced but I will not be charged for diagnostic or labor, just parts. Those 2 parts came to an additional $179. I checked the dealership for those same parts and they are $100, online they are even less than that.....I'm done with these people. I'd rather pay the mark-up from the dealership knowing I will not have continuous issues. read more

I am a broke college student, and usually purchase my tires for my car (which new are over $500 total for all four) at a retread place for a lot cheaper. I generally go to a place in Manteca (Sammy's Used and New Tires), and I love them! Never had a problem... Well when I called the day I got tires they didn't have mine, so I called around... City Tire & Wheel stated they had mine in stock, great condition, retreaded, and for $40 a piece. I was so excited to have found a place close to home, I raced right over and got them. The workers were very polite and my car was done VERY quickly!!! After they put the tires on, they were all wet (as they usual are at places), but they looked great! HOWEVER, when they dried, I noticed how old they looked, A friend of mine checked the tires, and they were NOT retreaded, they were USED!!! And one is over 4 years old! One has so many cracks in it, it is embarrassing!!!! WHO SELLS A TIRE LIKE THAT TO SOMEONE?!?!?!?! So not kewl!!! Not to mention on most of the tires, the tread is already very worn down... I just WASTED my money! There is nothing I can do about it now, but write a review on here, I am warning EVERYONE DO NOT COME HERE!!! They lie to you!!!!
