we haven't been here in a while. we enjoyed ourselves tonight. she ordered the brisket sandwich, a side salad, and hush puppies. she loved the brisket. she asked for it to be "lean" which means they trim off the fat and they cooked it well done as requested. the hush puppies were pretty good. I got the two meat platter. I got the turkey and brisket. both were equally delicious. oh yeah, we both got a side salad but we brought our own salad dressing which was ginger dressing from simply thai. I got their collared greens which were excellent. they give a military discount. a piece of Texas toast came with my meal. it was ok. I took a bite and gave the birds the rest since we were sitting outside. Will return. we took the banana pudding to go. we ate it later and was delicious. now they have their pickles, onions, jalapeños, for your taking. you used to have to ask for them now it's easier to take your own. yummy! read more

Very sad to see paying customers unable to find seats because some woman was setting up an event. A man attempted to sit down and she stopped him because she was going to use that table. Truth, she put her purse on that table. Potato was undercooked and room temperature. Very disappointing visit. read more

Tonight was the second wedding I have been to where City BBQ was the caterer. It is by far the best catered wedding food I've ever had! From the brisket to the Mac & cheese to the corn pudding...it was all fabulous! Do not hesitate to use them for your next catered event. Has potential to be really good. Prices are good. Portions were good. We had the 3 meat samplers. One plate was the sausage, ribs and brisket with Mac & cheese and fries. The other was brisket, sausage and pulled pork with baked beans and Mac & cheese. None of the items came out hot. Everything was just warm. The sausage was delicious. Perfectly cooked. Perfect crisp casing on it. Def has a kick. The pulled pork was said to be good. The ribs were dry, not much meat but Smokey in flavor. The brisket was dry and crumbling. Not juicy at all. No elasticity as it should have, just very dry. The fries had no flavor or seasoning just warm potatoes. The baked beans were report to be okay. The Mac and cheese was yummy, could have used a bit of seasoning but still good. I've heard good things about this place so maybe it was just an off night. Will consider trying again read more

City BBQ catered an event that we attended recently. It was hands down the best BBQ meal that I've had in the area! Both the shredded pork and shredded chicken were moist, seasoned perfectly, and delicious! I had the sweet BBQ sauce and loved it! The southern green beans were fabulous and the mac n cheese was yummy too. The best parts were the dill pickle slices and the Banana Cream Pudding. Soooo scrumptious! We were served promptly. Arrived at 6:30pm it closes at 8:00pm. The dinning room only had a few tables set up // the tea/lemonade station was shut down... the brisket sandwich was mid, the cornbread and fries were cold. Stopped by this location at 2pm on a Sunday. Decided to give the drive through a chance. I opted for 4 individual rib bones and a sweet tea. The ribs were moist and flavorful. Drive through speed was pretty good once the person in front of me figured out what they wanted. The cashier was very patient while the gentleman asked 20 questions. It wasn't awful. It also wasn't good. If you want mediocre barbecue and sides for $$$ this is the place for you. They don't sell bottles of their sauce because if they did, no one would buy it. Two people each getting a medium meal and two drinks and one dessert cost $65. As a bonus, you get to carry your food and bus your own table! read more

Not my favorite bbq but that doesn't mean it can't be yours! This chain doesn't set itself apart in many ways from other bbq joints. I have met some who find this to be their favorite place though, so take that as you will! To me, the brisket, ribs, chicken, and pork are slightly above average. I wouldn't mind this if the prices weren't as high as they were. You can pay the same and find better bbq all around. That doesn't take away from the amazing staff they have though! The interior is also very nice and modernized for a bbq restaurant! It's not my favorite place but it's not bad either, it's middle of the road and for many that may be just fine! read more

Had City Barbeque at a wedding reception. Wasn't really excited about having food from a bbq place. BUT, I & my bbq connoisseur husband were pleasantly surprised! The corn pudding was very good. The macaroni & cheese was creamy. The Italian green beans were delicious. I went back for all 3 of those. The pulled pork was very tender. I had the sweet & original bbq sauce. I absolutely love this location. The brisket is always crispy and it's the usual City BBQ quality but what separates it from other City locations are the people. The folks that work here remember my wife, daughter and I to the point that they ask us if we are having the usual and know our order by heart. I work in the alcohol industry and was a restaurant manager many years ago, that level of service is extremely rare these days and nice to know it still exists. As long as I'm in the area, this is our usual "cheat meal" on the weekends! read more

We came for the food but we're wowed by the customer service. Tirzah greeted us when we first walked through the door with a heartfelt smile. She was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Her customer service was so great that my husband tried to recruit her for his store LOL! I ordered their seasonal brisket chili. It was so delicious. Very hearty and perfect for this time of year. I ate there for dinner Saturday with my children. The chicken was really watery, as in the whole tray was getting wet from the chicken. I don't like complaining so I just ate it. The second thing was I found a bone in my chicken but I didn't say anything. My son started complaining because his brisket was about 80% fat. I told him to just eat the sides. I live maybe 4-5 minutes away. As I was pulling into my neighborhood the food poisoning started. I was sick the rest of the night. The quality of food varies. I average 1- 2 X's per month purchasing a full slab of ribs. Overall the slabs are cooked well. There are times, more often than I would like to mention, the ribs are extremely salty and the ends overcooked. It's hard to write this review because when the ribs are fresh and rub not over applied, they are delicious. Seems quality control would benefit. read more

I LOVE City Barbaque, and Hurstboune location is by far the best bbq that I have had. Today I got the pulled chicken sandwich and corn pudding.. the chicken was so good and juicy and very flavorful, I didn't even need and sauce, and the corn pudding is one of my absolute favorite sides they offer! We came in time for happy hour and didn't have an issue getting a large patio table in the shade, plus one of each of the promoted appetizers. Those items were probably my favorite - the pretzels with beer cheese, the wings, and queso with chips. I spotted a couple of friends, ordering the fish and fries. Several others, including myself, ordered pizza. I opted for the hand tossed pepperoni pizza with hot honey. I'm quite wimpy when it comes to spice and this was not overly hot for me. Blind Squirrel continues to shine for its patio dining, beers, volleyball courts, and live bands. However, the food is only average and not a place that I would recommend for meals.

Some of the buffet items were Tortilla Chips, Queso, Guac, Ground Beef, Dry Rub Bone In Wings, Pulled Pork, and Pretzel Sticks with Housemade Beer Cheese. Everything I tried was delicious. The Wings were my favorite.

Friendly, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu, he handled everything like a seasoned pro and made the experience even better. For dinner, I ordered the chicken piccata with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. While the chicken was excellent, the Brussels sprouts stole the show--perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and easily the standout item on my plate. Dad went with the Mediterranean chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The chicken was a winner, though the broccoli was a bit tougher than expected. Mom chose the voodoo shrimp and fries, but honestly, her true love affair of the evening was with the lobster dip. I'm fairly certain she consumed enough of it for the entire table. Here's the breakdown: Prickly Pear Margarita $15 This was sweet and smooth without being overly strong. The flavor leaned slightly toward raspberry. Easy to drink and well balanced. I liked it Complimentary bread We were served two warm rolls with a herb style pesto butter. The bread was fresh and soft inside with a light crust. Simple but very good, especially for something complimentary and unlimited. Fried mushrooms $13 Good portion size. The breading was light and crisp but not heavy, so you still got the mushroom flavor through it. The texture was tender, almost soft like cauliflower when cooked right. What really made this dish was the sauce, a spicy chipotle style aioli with a creamy base. That sauce was honestly better than the mushrooms themselves. Lobster bisque Included with the entree. Very creamy, smooth texture, rich color. The flavor was solid but slightly muted. There were very few visible lobster chunks, which was the main downside. It tasted more like a creamy seafood soup than something loaded with lobster. Still, as a free included side it was fine. A bit more salt and actual lobster pieces would improve it a lot. 14 oz Ribeye $43 This was the main event and it was great. Ordered medium rare and it came out exactly medium rare. The steak had a solid charcoal grilled crust on the outside without being overly burnt or bitter.Added some really great flavor. Some places overdo the char and it takes over the meat. Inside was juicy, tender, and a perfect mix of fat and meat. Really solid overall. They also split the steak and plated it for two without charging extra, which included dividing the sides as well. I also like how there was a small portion of chive butter included on the plate. It was simple but added a nice touch to the the steak. Most other toppings or flavored butters were $4 extra so it was nice nice to try one for free. Loaded baked potato side Large size and fully loaded with cheese, bacon, sour cream, and butter. It was soft inside with a proper fluffy texture, not dry or undercooked. Pretty standard steakhouse loaded potato. Strawberry shortcake Complimentary dessert with a candle for the special occasion, which was a nice touch. This was easily the highlight of the entire meal. Perfect balance between cake and strawberry filling. The strawberries tasted fresh and had real sweetness rather than being overly syrupy. Honestly one of the best strawberry shortcakes I've ever had and I grew up eating the ice cream pops. Highly recommended. Overall: Service was great, solid food, fair prices, and the dessert was excellent. The biggest downside was the calamari being unavailable, especially since it is their #1 app. I'll be back to actually try the calamari next time.

We definitely found the right place. The patio area with the Koi pond and waterfall was perfect. My wife and I had the Fried Green Tomatoes and Selena's Crab Caps. Their menu looks amazing as did the specials of the day. We didn't have time to eat a full meal, but did enjoy our time outside. Our server was great and one of the owners did come by to check on us also. I would definitely come back to try more of their food.

The flavor was amazing, and unlike a lot of brunch drinks that taste watered down, these were actually strong. Two glasses definitely had me feeling tipsy, so I can't complain too much there. The main reason I took off a star was the parking situation and accessibility concerns. The handicap parking is positioned perpendicular to the main road, which honestly feels unsafe when backing out. If someone already has mobility or visibility limitations, backing directly into a busy road can be stressful and dangerous. The rest of the parking area is also gravel, which can be difficult to navigate with mobility aids, wheelchairs, walkers, or even just for someone unsteady on their feet. It's one of those situations where it's great that handicap parking exists close to the entrance, but the actual setup still creates challenges. Outside of that, the drinks themselves were genuinely really good, the atmosphere was fun, and I'd probably still come back for another brunch date.
