I recently held my wedding reception here and I have to say it was phenomenal! It held around 40-50 people easily. The wait staff were so kind and efficient. The drinks were great and loved that the event space had its own bar. Food wise it was delicious! We had the brisket and pulled pork. And everyone was saying how tender and yummy the brisket was. I agree 100%! My favorite was the garage door that opened to a private patio area with games as well as the ability to play music and slideshows throughout. Went here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. You order as soon as you walk in and someone brings the food at to you when it was ready. Despite the number of people, our order came out quickly. Our table ordered the brisket, spare ribs dry, catfish fillets, green beans, baked beans, potato salad and macaroni and cheese. Everything was good, but the ribs and the Mac and cheese stole the show. We have already discussed going back to try the smoked wings and smoked turkey. I finished the meal with a slice of pecan pie that deserves its own spotlight: hands down the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is casual and fun, with plenty of high-top seating and tables. TVs are scattered throughout so you can keep up with your favorite game while you eat. I had the farmhouse fries and I think the fries were over holding time because they were hard, but the staff was quick to fry fresh fries and remake it for us. Since we had never had Martin's, we had zero expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised! Martin's is so good! Don't go too late because sometimes they sell out. We got the last of the pulled pork on a Monday night around 7:30. Order at the counter, take a number, and grab a seat. Plenty of indoor seating, bar top tables, big and small tables, and a big covered sunroom if you prefer outside. They also have a big room for parties and offer catering. Everything js delicious--my favorite is the trays with two sides. The hoecake is more like a pancake rather than cornbread so you know what to expect. I ordered a Brisket burger, and got a patty with t few millimeters of thickness and a tiny bit of brisket on it. When I asked the waitresses which part of it was a the brisket, she looked over and said: It is on top. Drove from Indy to see the Kentucky Christmas Caves. We wanted to eat bque near by, and Martins came up. Inside the restaurant it was designed with all this old fashion car plates and pictures. It was very clean and the staff was so nice. Always, asking if we needed refills or a container. Very polite all the staff. The food was amazing good. I got the beef brisket plate, with beans and potato salad. My family got the ribs with Mac and Cheese and beans. The beef brisket was thick and tender not alot of fat at all. The meat fell off the bone on the ribs. Everything is made in house including the sides. The potato salad was so good, the beans spicy to my liking, and the Mac and Cheese had a nice topping on top, but they could have been creamer. They have a full bar in house I had a pour of the Kentucky Bourbon, that's made there. I will definitely be back it's about a 2 hour drive. According to the algorithm, the answer does not ever carry it. Do not call yourself a BBQ place if you do not have ever have ribs or publicize if you only carry them on the weekend. read more

Brisket was tough and dry. It had no flavor. The pulled pork had a smoke flavor, but was still pretty dry. The house made BBQ sauce was delicious. Too thin for my preference but the flavor was damn close to perfect. We have other BBQ restaurants in Louisville that provide consistently higher quality. Came here on a Wednesday night and it was decently packed. We got a BBQ Tray and it was fantastic! Pulled Pork Shoulder was fantastic, it really was flavorful and melted in your mouth. Sliced Beef Brisket so great with their in house sauce! Sliced Smoked Turkey was good, nothing super special here. Their desserts though were awesome! We got both the Martha Ann's Fudge Pie and Nadine's Pecan Pie & my party enjoyed both! They weren't too sweet and had lots of flavor. We hosted my husband's retirement after 27 years in the fire department. They were great when we booked the party, but the day of it, the general manager became almost hostile and uncaring. I have never dealt with the unprofessional behavior we encountered. Even one of the owners was unphased by everything that went wrong. They just didn't seem to care once they had our $4,000! We had over 150 FIRST RESPONDERS there and you would think that alone would have meant something. I was so embarrassed and stressed by the service we received. Please think twice before you use them. If they treat first responders like that, imagine the bad experience you will have!! I received a call from the founder of Martins BBQ today. The owners of this licensed location never would respond to my complaint even after a week. Pat Martin personally listened to the issues we had and has offered to take care of us even when he doesn't own that particular location. With what I thought was a lost cause, Mr Martin has restored my faith in people doing the right thing. I'm so impressed by this man.
