We were 40 minutes early before we had to be at our obligation. I was 20 minutes late due to being boxed in in the Drive-Thru and the length of time it took for us to get our order. No compensation was given because they said they only had three employees on shift. While I feel for the crew it should not be the customer's responsibility to Bear the price. It shouldn't matter how many employees are on shift for someone to be compensated for their time when it was that unreasonable. This is the location on 7th avenue and has been my consistent experience unfortunately as time has gone by it has only gotten worse. While this was the worst situation it has been getting worse on going. If you have somewhere to be in time don't go to City Brew on 7th. read more

Hey y'all, I love city brew coffee and there is nothing wrong with the food and drinks BUT my sister and I were in the drive through at this location 10 minutes before opening ( the open sign was on and then shut off), after dropping someone off at the airport. So we waited until it really opened only to be greeted with short remarks and not really a good morning vibe. (Haze) did not seem like she just loved her job.. after ordering and getting to the window to pay I gave her a dollar short and said "give me one sec for the other dollar" and she proceeded to say very abruptly " your short a dollar" in a harsh tone. Maybe she didn't want to be at work early or didn't have her Coffee first, but I don't think a customer should be treated that way no matter what time of the day. Is this just a rebranded Starbucks? Sure seems like it. I guess if you're a big Starbucks fan this will be fine for you. All I ordered was an Omelette sandwich, I drove 5 minutes away and opened the bag and the foil the sandwich was in was COLD and when I took a bite out of the sandwich the entire thing was cold. I come here every so often whenever I need a pick me up before work. The service is always amazing, especially from the barista Natalie! (I promise I'm not biased from the great name, haha). Omgggggggg omggggggg omgggggggg I was so scared that my wife and I wouldn't find another good coffee shop like Dutch bros but we did!!!!! So so amazing so tasty and fresh! Did some research and found on city brew came from and established in Billing Montana! So it's nice to support locals! The service was amazing and wayyyy wayyyy friendly! Rolled up to have first experience at city brew coffee arriving at 6:06 am. Came here because we are road tripping to Yellowstone , and needed provisions for the long drive. However, upon arrival they were closed. So, we patiently waited, double checked the signs to make sure they said 6am, and yet they told another civilian they don't open until 6:30 am. Looks and sounds like someone showed up late to work and decided they would open up at later time , because it was dark when we rolled up until an employee went inside to turn on the lights. Wanted to have a good first experience, but now I'll never know. read more

Dark roast coffee was appropriately strong on flavor and jack-me-up caffeination. Scone and pull apart monkey bread muffin were tasty. Monkey bread muffin was very tender in the texture department. Scone was generously large, albeit a touch dry so the coffee came in handy. But it's Tess, my barista du jour with her "5 stars ain't nearly enough" 1,000 megawatt bright shining personality & friendliness, who earns this location a max rating. Great experience. Very similar to a Starbucks but I would venture to say better. We don't have City Brew where I'm from so I wasn't sure what kind of Coffee shop it was. The food is better than Starbucks. The pretzel ham and cheese with Gouda was bangin. Also the service was great. All the people working were extremely friendly. read more

I'm not a huge coffee drinker but it may be mostly because all I have to choose from are pretentious coffee shops both local and big box employees by airheads serving an average coffee at best; however I really like this chain!! I am now a regular to this name when in City Brew territory. I stopped at this location on my way out of town for the 406 Latte (307 if in WY) and a bite to eat. Lovely ham and cheese croissant. Croissant wA light and flaky, generous size for a breakfast sandwich and plentiful with ham. I'm taking my best friend and my dad (coffee fanatics) each a bag of the northern lights blend. Bagged coffee is comparable to big box specialty coffee shops but is a couple ounces more that most specialty ground or whole bean coffee brands weighing in at a full 16 ounces. read more

Waited in the drive thru for 20 min only for them to get my coffee wrong. They forgot to add flavor and cream. Breakfast sandwich was yuk too. I've tried this place a few times while in Bozeman and it's really hit or miss. Sometimes decent, sometimes terrible. There are way better local coffee shops in town read more

I ordered a short latté (I usually get a cortado or a cap because I like a smaller milk ratio) but this one was pretty much just milk. I didn't even drink it :( I don't think I'll go back. There are lots of great options in Bozeman. This wasn't one for me. read more

Upon recommendation from the staff at First Interstate Bank(Main St.) located in Bozeman, Montana; I visited City Brew gourmet coffee shop. The first drink on my mind was the piña colada latte that I saw earlier that day. I went in and was greeted by the very friendly staff. I was greeted in a friendly manner and asked what I would like. I immediately said, the Piña Colada latte-grande. Then I was asked if there was anything else that I would like. I asked for a recommendation. I was told about the Montana Morning Latte!!! The description was so vivid and enticing, I just had to have it. The service was quick and friendly as the drinks were actually brought to me in the area I was waiting at. I was pleasantly surprised at the delicious flavors that caressed my taste buds. Not too sweet, just delightfully pleasant. If you visit Bozeman, Montana, make sure you visit City Brew!!! I have been a long-time City Brew fan and will do just about anything I can to avoid Starbucks, but City Brew coffees have become weaker and weaker to the point now that I'm paying 565 for a coffee flavored milk. One of the absolute best coffee places. They only do pour-over so it can take a little bit longer to get your drink, but the flavor combinations they have come up with are excellent. I have a tried a few different ones and they were all excellent. Can't wait to go back. read more

It has been hard to find a decaf or regular coffee that is not high in acid. Then I found City Brew and I am very impressed especially with their decaf dark roast. Most of the week I stopped into Home Page for my daily soy chai to warm me up with near freezing temps in this town, but that establishment was in much closer proximity to the hospital. After my husband was moved from the hospital to a rehab facility, I was on the search for another place closer to the other side of town near the Marriott Residence Inn. The thing about Montana that I'm not used to is how much space is out there. Everything is spread out, and even shopping centers are spacious - even if they don't have the businesses to quite fill all of that space. I landed up driving past City Brew for few days before I happened to see the green sign by chance, and pulled into the enormous chain of parking lots to eventually reach my destination. City Brew is the Starbucks of Montana. Not that I found one on every street corner, but if I was led inside blindfolded, on first glance I would have guessed I was in a Starbucks. Everything from the pastry selection behind glass, to the cold beverage choice directly beneath the pastries, to the fun re-usable to-go cups, mugs and other coffee related items mimic one of the world's most recognizable brands. Even the layout of the coffee shop - ample seating, creamer bar, barrista station, etc.... had me double and triple check that the branded items did indeed say, "City Brew Coffee" as opposed to "Starbucks". Bozeman does not have a free standing Starbucks, so if this is what you're used to, or prefer, I'd recommend City Brew. While I have not tasted their coffee, I will say that my soy chai was hot and spicy. Yum. I did learn that there is a small Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble at the Mall. I'd personally swing into City Brew, as opposed to ever going back to that tiny little mall ever again. Just keep your eye open for the green sign near the Target on N. 19th or you just may miss this nice little place. read more

City Brew has a few things going for them... their baristas are quick to greet you the moment you walk in the door, they have specialty drinks that no one else in Bozeman offers like their huckleberry lemonade and their mountain chai to name a couple. Their pastries are usually quite good. They are like a Starbucks, but a bit more of a local feel with daily specials and the occasional local fair. Their coffee tends to be a bit burnt in flavor, but their chai is great. read more

First off, I love this place. Great friendly staff, fantastic coffee and great environment. However, I no longer do my meetings with my business partner at the 19th location or meet with clients there for the following reasons: 1. uncomfortable wire frame backs on chairs. 2. Thank you for putting up a splash guard near the pumps, but splash guard needs to be at least 18" tall or remove the bench. I still have sticky syrup on my keyboard. 3. Fix wobbly tables. I just had coffee spill and it ran under the computer. 4. Instead of 6 small round tables with uncomfortable chairs, have 3 larger square or rectangular tables with access to plugs. 5. How many times a day does that cordless vaccuum get run? Noisy and not necessary 3x an hour. Again, I love this Montana coffee shop, but I will not be adding more funds to my City Brew rewards card. read more

I absolutely adore this City Brew! Everyone who works here are so incredibly kind and make my day so much better every time I go in! They remember their patrons by name and always genuinely ask how I'm doing plus they typically have my drinks either ready when I get there or right after I walk through the door. The coffee itself it wonderful, I recommend the 406 latter or the grizzly! They have a wonderful selection of teas and pastries too. Yummy. I drink the iced tea and love it. I also like the espresso drinks. The salted caramel latte was too sweet for me, but it is a matter of taste. Other family members love the espresso drinks. I am addicted to the lemon bread. Nice and moist. The cookies are pretty good. The bagel was a bagel, not too exciting there. I haven't tried the oatmeal, but they have a wide spectrum of choices. Seating is pretty comfortable, but the tables are a little small. I am a fan. read more
