City Brew's coffee is delicious, and I'm almost always satisfied when I order here. The food is also good. The service is usually pretty quick. At most I've waited maybe 10 minutes if it was busy in the drive thru line. Almost everyone is friendly too. I've never had a bad experience here! As for the menu, it's pretty basic, but they do have different seasonal flavors and some specialty drinks. My favorites are the Mountain Morning Latte or their cold brew! I would say it's pretty comparable to other chain coffee restaurants. I do love how this one is local to Montana. read more

One of Butte's best! The interior was closed for some reason in November 2021, so the drive-thru was the only option. Either that, or drive into Bozeman for real coffee or traipse around Butte - ahhhhh, nope! Enter City Brew Coffee. While this isn't exactly Seattle-level coffee in quality, who TF cares??? This is Butte, MT. Either take your snobby Seattle self somewhere else in Butte, Bozeman, or Missoula (there are definitely Seattle-based coffee places within the latter two, because I've been to all of them), or just suck it up and enjoy yourself here. My special espresso mix was actually on point, and well-priced where I was comfortable all the way to Billings. And not only that- customer service at the DT window was really good. The college coed female that completed my order was bubbly, spirited, and insightful with regard to sights around the Butte area. Seriously, stop in at City Brew Coffee for good coffee, and perhaps a pastry or two. Leave that Seattle snobby attitude about coffee in Seattle. read more

An inside fireplace makes for a comfy spot to enjoy a visit with friends or just relax on your own. The staff here has always been friendly, helpful, and expedient. Ok. Their coffee is pretty run of the mill. They have some good choices, but a latte is a latte is a latte from these kind of chain places. Their brewed coffee is pretty good too. BUT, the service is second to none. Good service is dang near impossible to find in Butte. People think good service is nothing more than taking your card. But City Brew is awesome! Got our order wrong. Didn't apologize , remade it and still got it wrong. Asked for extra hot and it was barely like warm . Tasted like cheap tepid milk with hardly any flavor . Poor customer service. And one of the worst chai's and lattes we have ever had. Was really looking forward to it too after w long drive. Skip this place and try one of the many others in Butte. I wish I could rate this place lower. We have a long drive ahead of us and decided to stop in butte for 10 mins so we could get some coffee so we weren't drowsy behind the wheel. We saw the city brew and decided that was our best option. It closed in 10 minutes so we wanted to be quick, but when we drove up they turned the light off and locked the door. Who does that?!! They were still open and refusing us service. As we drove away we saw them turn their lights back on and continue closing. Personally this is a very disrespectful thing to do. Never coming back here again. I hope the manger sees this and makes changes. read more

I love that they have a drive thru and that the service was friendly. They have a huge menu with a lot of options which was somewhat overwhelming. I decided on a white chocolate mocha and the bacon Gouda egg ciabatta sandwich. The mocha was OK. The sandwich was inedible and hard to chew. It was microwaved to near death. I know this place is a chain, but the service here is just exceptional. They are chipper, fast and accurate. I'm a sucker for their sweet cream cold brew coffee which is essentially just iced coffee-but it's smooth and sweet and not overwhelmingly so. There's a rotating drink menu with many different options, I just can't pull away from my go to yet! City Brew also has breakfast pastries and sandwiches. Feeling brave I ordered a blueberry scone which was soft on the inside, and just a little crumbly on the outside. I'm not sure what a scone is *supposed* to taste like, but this one was really good! Great chai lattess and regular lattes -- my husband and I are in town for a bit and we really love coffee/tea, so we've been trying out different coffee shops. Went in this morning 05/20/2024. Walked in and everyone looked at me and I didn't even get greeted until I walked up to the cashier and stood there for a few minutes waiting for someone to come take my order. It was like everyone was waiting for someone else to do it. A girl finally came out of the back, took my order, and I waited. While I was waiting for my coffee, the 3 girls working were laughing about how one of their co workers got a bad review, and apparently no one in management cared. Listening to that as a customer was...odd. The staff were also too busy conversing with their friends in the dining area, then providing customer service to the other customers in the building. When my name was called, I grabbed my coffee and asked for a straw. The staff just pointed to where they were, I took my straw and coffee and left. Not another acknowledgment from anyone. Seemed like everyone there today hated their job, and even more hated that they had customers there. I frequent this place, and usually the drive thru service is top notch, but today was different. Stopping by for a quick cup of coffee and ended up hanging out for a snack. I loved this place as soon as I walked in. Bright, airy place with creative seating options and clean bathrooms. I could easily have mistaken this place for one of the large chain coffee places based in Seattle, but what set this apart is the personal service! My orders were hand delivered to me! What friendly and efficient service! I got the sense that they really cared. Pumpkin spice latte was delicious, so was the spinach wrap. Outside seating and a cozy fire place for the cold weather. I would highly recommend this establishment for all your beverage and snack needs. And I'd say you won't be disappointed by their service. read more

This place has some good coffee and food options. They are quick and their staff is friendly. They are a more local alternative to Starbucks with some of their beverages being better tasting. Sometimes I am less impressed by their coffee consistency from day to day and their food portions are fairly small. Overall, a nice, quick coffee shop right by the interstate. read more

We just went there ordered our drinks of course they came out wrong like they always do and then at the end they told us that they were out of whip cream which is constant. Poor service it was not busy there was only one car behind us I don't understand why they can't seem to get this place running well and leaving the people with a bad taste in their mouth. It had been a few years since I had driven through Montana. I had never noticed this Rocky Mountain coffee chain. City Brew has better coffee and service than Starbucks (not too difficult). It's a little brighter than most coffee houses--but it's a nice change of pace. An additional plus...the bathrooms were clean, which is good for a weary traveler looking for a good stop. I will definitely return the next time I am driving through Montana/Wyoming/North Dakota--which is usually at least once per year. read more

Stopped in on a road trip pit stop. (This place is very near the Tesla Supercharger.) Was very pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and great service. Very clean place with lots of comfortable seating, fireplace, etc. Would've been happy to sit down and relax a while but my travel companions were eager to get back on the road. read more

From Seattle on a road trip through Idaho and Utah and coming through Montana. Coffee stands are nearly non existent in the parts we drove through and the one coffee I had in northern Utah, I dumped, so I was happy to see coffee finally! I stopped by based on reviews. I had the marshmallow mocha (I think it was called a campfire mocha) and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly chocolate without overpowering the coffee flavor. read more
