Atmosphere: this place is kind of like a restaurant in the middle of an antique shop. There is no shortage of things to look at. It's pretty neat! Definitely a small town diner. Service: everyone was friends. The server was there when we needed her. The food came out slow, but with an apology from the cook, which essentially great. We were a larger party and walked in right as they opened. So, we understood. Food: the food was okay. I got the 2 hot cakes, 2 bacon, and 2 eggs. The bacon was crispy and delicious, the eggs were cooked great, but I didn't love the pancakes. As you can see they were pretty light in color and the taste was just off. Almost like they were cooked on a dirty grill or a grill that wasn't fully hot before the batter was poured on, so it really just sucked up a bunch of oil or something. All-in-all it was a good breakfast and quite cheap. I don't know if I am in a huge hurry to visit again, but I also wouldn't be opposed. read more

A MUST stop when In Butte. This is not only a GREAT place to eat , staff is amazing and pricing even better. I got the "senior size" ugh hurts to admit that but it was enough. The Ham was soooooo good. Like something your grandmother had cooked all day waiting for you to get to her house . The French toast was perfectly cooked - Just crispy enough and with the fresh blueberries needed nothing else !(no syrup required) Decor is straight up 1950s diner and all think Coke . Well i took my son to eat. The waitres was nice took our order. After almost 1 hour i paid for our drimks and lert. Could ot wait any longer. Also there wad another table there before us who said tjey needed there food to as they had to go. Maybe they need new cooks or more or let people know there is a wait. Traveling from Livingston back to Portland, we stopped for breakfast. Super friendly greeting. The service was friendly, prompt and helpful. The food was very good. Small containers of jam on the table were a nice touch. The biscuit I had was tender and flaky, so good with the blackberry jam. Prices are the best we've seen in a long time. I came into Butte Montana looking for something local that wasn't some chain restaurant, Annie's restaurant had good reviews and when I seen the building I had to check it out, look like something right out of the 1930s, when I entered I loved the decor and the atmosphere, the waitress was the owner's daughter and she had quite the wonderful personality, the food was quick and well presented and extremely tasty, I had the works omelette with dark rye toast that went well with the homemade jam on the table, I ordered coffee that they didn't charge me for, I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant it had beautiful old style carpeting and a friendly crowd of people inside. read more

We had the daily special with two eggs, blueberry French toast and choice of sausage links or ham. I got an extra side of ham, a generous amount that was lean. Came in on a late Sunday morning and had to wait maybe 20 minutes to be seated, which isn't bad and we'll worth it. Food is well portioned and freshly made. I had an omelette and it wasn't greasy/ oily, it was delicious. The pancakes are nicely sized and tasted great (stole a bite from my sister ). My 10 month old son would say the toast with butter and jam is exquisite! Friendly staff and pretty cool looking atmosphere. It was fun seeing all the vintage decor. You will definitely not go hungry here and if you do, it's probably your own dang fault. This is a must try "hole in the wall" when visiting Butte, MT. It doesnt seat very many people and they dont even have enough menus for every table so if they are busy, be prepared to wait to look at a menu until one becomes available. That little quirk made me laugh. Service is very friendly and they definitely stay busy. I would recommend. Side note: they cook breakfast, lunch and dinner whenever you want it. Damn good breakfast! We love hitting local spots when we travel and boy, did we find a gem! Busy little Café in an old building, full of local town folk and a sweet border collie! Bacon was beyond excellent, thick cut, cooked to perfection. Eggs served exactly as requested. Coffee, strong, hot & delicious! Did I mention that they have all you can eat biscuits and gravy AND pancakes?! I may never leave! Gotta shout out our server.... She was incredibly hardworking, friendly and attentive! I can say that almost one year later to the date we ate breakfast last year here, before getting back on the road home, at Annie's. Always an easy decision. We had to wait a couple minutes to be seated as the locals filled the place up. As expected. I think we had the very same food and had the very same result. If we lived near Butte we'd be a local in here weekly. read more

In Butte again and had to stop for lunch this time. It was as good as before so I may go back again today! Hubby got an omelette and I got a Chef Salad. I appreciated they had a half option of the salad; I wish more places did that. Nothing spectacular about the food, just good plain fare, but service was excellent. We got there about noon on Saturday and had to wait about 20 minutes. They were quick to get our names on the list and got a chair for hubby so he could sit while we waited. Joked with us and the others who were waiting with us. Our server was very friendly and kept my husband's coffee cup filled which is critical for him!! Once again, prices were reasonable which we also appreciated since we were traveling. read more

Someone spent a lot of time filling the walls with all kinds of signs and plaques that makes a game of eye-spy a real (fun) challenge. With so many easy tech options for credit cards, the Cash only seemed to be an unnecessary hassle... add on the cc fee if that's the issue (everyone does). This is an amazing spot to grab some food. I came in with a friend for breakfast and we both left stuffed. All of the food is high quality and cooked fresh. I had an omelette that was a make your own and it was sure stuffed with bacon. Hot cakes are delicious too. My friend had eggs bacon and home fries and was happy. Front of house Staff was amazing and super friendly, but food was incredibly slow and lacked flavor and delivery. It took over 90 minutes from the time we ordered to receive our food which was chicken fried steak and eggs, and pancakes and eggs. Hash browns were oily and undercooked, eggs didn't have any seasoning (like even salt or pepper) and were super oily. Finally got to exploring some local places in Butte. Annie's Cafe feels welcoming and authentic Americana. We were greeted on entering before finding our seats. The waitress was prompt and so friendly. They do serve soda in cans but have a great selection and give you two cans per ord3r which I greatly appreciated. My dad got an omelette he devoured and I got a club sandwich. The hashbrown were okay but everything else was great. The sandwich was stacked high with meat and cheese with fresh lettuce. The bacon was delicious and I grudgingly shared it with my dad who agreed it was excellent. They have thick cut fries that were fresh and best with some salt. They are only open 7 to 2 wed to sunday so you do need to plan accordingly but definitely worth a stop for lunch or breakfast. Great service and great food. read more

Wow! Annie's is a traditional family style breakfast house. Guided to this local favorite by Yelp reviews, we were all suitably impressed. Fellow fans of "chicken fried" steak will be intrigued by the report of Annie's "real deal". This hand breaded, tenderized cube steak, smothered in rich brown gravy is definitely something to write home about. The portion is so large they have to serve the home fried potatoes, eggs and homemade biscuits on a second plate! Chicken fried steak affectionadoes are often left disappointed by a menu's promise and the wait staff's uneasy assurances. But, the choice of sausage or brown gravy is a tell tale indicator you are in for the real McCoy. Gently nudged toward the brown gravy by the waitress, I can't imagine ordering differently in the future.
