August 27, 2024 On August 26, 2024, while traveling to Charlotte, North Carolina me and my 98-year-old mother arrived at the airport about 9:54 PM. After hailing City Cab, LLC we encounter Mr. Kifle Mereto driver of the cab. I tried to show him the hotel accommodation voucher with the hotel address, but Mr. Meteto showed very little interest in looking at the paper. As we approached the City Center Mr. Mereto began to press me as to which Double Tree by Hilton are we staying at? Which I replied I do not know because I havened lived in Charlotte since 1973. He continued to rudely press me on which hotel until I said, "I don't know, pick one." After we pulled into the hotel, I ask him if he would wait until I found out if this was the correct hotel he replied, "No." Mr. Mereto then proceeded to literally take my luggage as well as my mother's luggage as well as her walker and throw them in the middle of the hotel driveway preventing incoming vehicles access to the hotel driveway. My mother, who is unable to walk on her own need's assistances moving around as well as help getting into and out of cars. I find Mr. Mereto's behavior very unacceptable and unprofessional. He defiantly is in desperate need of professional training. This man should be no where City Cab LLC customers until that training is complete. Took this service from airport to hotel. Cab driver never turned on rate counter, once arrived at hotel he started pressing all kinds of buttons on the rate machine. Added 3 passengers, $4 in extras and demanded a $5 tip for a $25 ride total for 1.7 mile trip. Flew off the handle once he realized he was not getting a tip. read more

I rode in one of those cabs today and it was more horrible than you can imagine. It smelled so horrible. It was a strong, stong, horrible smell, almost like a burning smell. City Cab was contracted two weeks ago to take a patient three days a week to a treatment center. In the past ten ride engagements, they have been late 8 of those trips (both initial pickup and return pickup), from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Yesterday they simply never showed up, and four calls to the dispatcher ended with the dispatcher apologizing that the driver wasn't answering his phone after repeated attempts, and that I should look for another form of transportation. The absolute worst cab company in Charlotte. I kept trying to use them because they're so cheap, but they're so unreliable and short-staffed it's not worth it. Today I waited two hours for a scheduled pickup, calling the dispatcher repeatedly, only to be finally told they couldn't reach their driver. Kept saying they were sorry. Very sorry. I could call back Monday to speak to a manager. I finally bit the bullet and called Lyft, who arrived in six minutes. I've (stupidly) been through this before with them. I think they survive because social services and government offices use them as the cheapest service in the county. Pitiful. Why are they still in business? read more

I called the night before to schedule a 630 am pickup, before 530 the driver calls and said he was on the way and to be ready. I let them know that we weren't going to be able to make that time change I was told to be ready by 6. We had other travelers in different rooms that I needed to get ahold of. Paul , and the dispathcers , are awesome. I was in Charlotte for the football game and jumped out of cab when I arrived at my stop leaving behind my Maui Jim glasses. It is not the cost but more importantly who gave them to me as a gift. I called the dispatcher on a whim and let them know I had lost the glasses. Paul remembered me and looked for them and found them in backseat. He sent them the next day. Forget Uber just call Paul!!!! read more

Reckless drivers! Many days on my morning commute I witness them weaving in and out of traffic, cutting people off, and blowing through school zones. There have been 2 separate incidents in that stand out in particular. The first was when one of their drivers drove around traffic to pass a stopped school bus unloading elementary students. The second when one of their drivers attempted to cut around traffic using a turning lane, and cut someone off when merging back in. That person had to slam on their breaks and wound up getting rear ended. I called to voice my concern at both of these incidents -- several months apart-- and both times was told that this wasn't the first complaint they'd had about that particular driver. So please tell me why someone driving recklessly and even CAUSING ACCIDENTS is still employed at a taxi cab company?? read more

Tried to take a taxi from the airport to my hotel. Told driver the name of the hotel, gave him the address, offeref to show him and use google maps, told him the distance and estimated time... After he checked with a fellow driver he said he knew where he was going. Talked on his phone most of the trip. Took me to the wrong hotel. It was easier to get out and get an Uber than to try to explain he took me to the wrong place. read more

We called to schedule a cab the evening before and they were supposed to call to let us know if they had a driver. If we didn't hear from them in 15 mins we were supposed to assume we were good to go. They didn't call so we assumed we were good to go. I wanted a cab to take me to the airport. I called City Cab's office in the morning and spoke to a very pleasant woman. She reassured me the cab would be at my house in plenty of time and indeed they showed up 25 minutes early. Despite that little glitch, the cabdriver came back at the prearranged time and got me to the airport in plenty of time. Overall very satisfied with the service. P.S. While I was driving in Charlotte a driver van number 6362 cut me off in traffic with out signaling he was merging. This did not bother me but what did bother me was he got out of his van and starting screaming and cursing at my car. He started to approach my car and it honestly scared me that someone was doing this while on a main road. I get traffic in Charlotte is hard and stressful but him in one of your vans almost hitting me and doing this was pretty upsetting to me and my young child in the car. read more
