This bike shop is awesome! I went in here after purchasing a bike; I needed a car mount. I am brand new to biking so I figured that going to the experts would be a wise move. I asked one of the employees if he could assist me with mounting the bike rack to my car and he said it would be no problem, even despite it raining outside! I found the people working at the store to be very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend checking this place out for all of your biking needs! read more

Local city bike shop that boasts good service. I went looking for some help with a bike of mine. It is an older bike that needed a inner tube for the front tire. I walked into the store unaware of where to go and awkwardly stood there as three other customers came in and passed me. There was a man working (who I later found out was the owner) who never looked up from the desk to ask me if I needed help with anything as I stood there looking around the small shop for assistance. When I finally decided to follow the other customers down to the back, there was a younger man there who asked if I needed any help. I told him about the inner tube and he helped me put my bike away and started taking my information down. As we were talking, the owner came down and started poking and moving my bike around making odd comments to the younger employee. Without looking me in the eye or addressing me at all he muttered that he wouldn't fix the bike. I was confused and asked the younger employee for clarification and he could only tell me that he has to follow any order his boss gives him. I am still unclear as to why they would not fix he bike but am more upset with the terrible customer service and lack of communication as a whole. The only reason this review was not one star is because of the young male employee in the back who at least tried to help me make sense of the owner's remarks. read more

In the midst of the pandemic, my husband's bike had to be replaced. The inventory was practically nonexistent especially since he wanted a black matte Trek. On a whim, I found myself browsing and to my delight... there it was. As a loyal customer, I wanted to purchase the bike in Lynn. Again, I was ecstatic. They are related. Through the years, I've purchased at least four to five sets of bikes from Mike in Lynn... five bikes at a time along with repair, as needed and maintenance. I was looking for a local place to put together a bike my wife got at work for a service award. First emailed JRA cycles......they never returned my email. So I tried these guys. Got right back to me, gave me hours and price and how long job might take. I dropped off and job was done in a couple of days and bike works great. Great service, nice people, good work, open till 7 at night so people can go after work. Parking in lot right next door. Could not ask for a better transaction. Good job. read more

I really wanted to use the in-town small business when my son needed a new bike. We walked in and found the shop empty with a store employee at the counter. We said we were looking for a bike for my son, who was with us, and he barely looked up from his iPhone to point us toward the bikes. We browsed for about 10 minutes expecting him to come offer some help and when none came we finally left. He couldn't even be bothered to look up as we said goodbye. We will take our business elsewhere to someplace that cares about customer service. Both other times we have been in here we were ignored as well but they were for small purchases - we won't be back. We had a wonderful and completely opposite experience at Cycle Loft in Burlington. Well worth the 20 minute drive for the expertise, advise and care we got there. read more

I brought my bike to City Cycle for a post-winter tuneup and the customer service experience was incredible. They identified a crack in the frame I hadn't noticed, helped me process the warranty claim through the manufacturer and assembled the replacement parts. I have considered taking the time to do my own tune-ups, or switching to buying bikes online, but the professionalism and attention to detail that City Cycle brings has convinced me to stick with my local bike shop for good. read more

I came here with my husband looking for a bicycle for my birthday present. He's very into bikes and he did a lot of research before headed to City Cycle. As for me, my only condition was to have a pretty teal/mint green bike. Junelle was very friendly and helpful, she explained the features of the bikes and recommended the ones she thought was suitable for me. I ended up choosing a Specialized bike which we went back to collect 1-2 days later as they needed time to assemble and tune up the bike. (You have to pay at least half the price of the bike as a deposit if you choose to come pick it up later) She also threw in a bike kickstand as a birthday gift (it was also her birthday that day!!) which was really nice of her! There are also a lot of other accessories available at City cycles such as lights, helmets, water bottle holder etc. On the day that we went to pick the bike up, Junelle helped to adjust the height of the seat, the tilt of the seat and made sure that I was comfortable on the bike. We also found out that when you purchase a new bike, you can go back anytime within 60 days of your purchase to tune up the bike (which I saw cost $99 if you had to pay for it!). I am definitely going to bring my bike back within the 60 days, and my husband is jealous because he wants to tune up his bike too but he thinks it's very expensive. On a side note, completely irrelevant to bikes, Junelle offered me a piece of oatmeal carmelites on the day of her birthday and it was absolutely delicious. One of City Cycle's mechanics made it from scratch and I couldn't help but ask for the recipe. They were so nice to type up the recipe and mail it to my home address! read more

I've visited this shop twice and haven't had good luck either time. I must say both times were for not typical requests: 1st was to help assemble a bike kit purchased online and the 2nd was to install a baby seat on my bike. Both requests were turned down, which is fine, but my issue was that both times the staff let me stand in the front of the shop for a very long time before greeting me. Then after hearing my request left me for another very long time while they thought over the request before ultimately turning me away. The staff were rude stating each time that they'd rather not take the liability. Both times I found other bike shops with better customer service, prices, and wait times. This shop is close to my home so I really wanted to like it but I will not return. read more

Eric and Nate at City Cycles are super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. City Cycles is an official TREK dealer and I'v purchased two bikes from them in the past couple years. They're more geared towards family bikes but were happy to special order the carbon frame I wanted and gave me a fair price. They did a great job assembling and tuning both bikes and I couldn't be happier. Plenty of parking in their private lot and they're easy find-just off exit 36 on 93N. read more

I will confess that I did not have a bike repaired here, but rather a baby stroller. The brake was broken. I expected to be turned away but Eric agreed to take a look and offered to repair it for $10. I was amazed when he told me it would be ready the next day. We recently hired Tom, a bike mechanic at City Cycle, to work at our son's BYO Bike Birthday Party, His job was to help tune up about 10 kids' bikes for the season. He was AWESOME!!! Always helpful, always polite whenever I've dealt with them. I've bought three bikes from them over the last few years and although they may not be the cheapest, they are the kind of local, independent places that people should feel good about spending their money at. They've been good about making minor adjustments at no cost when it has truly been minor and also do a great job with seasonal tune-ups as well. They even went to bat on my behalf with a vendor manufacturing defect and helped save a great amount of money! Eric and his wife are from the old school and the young kids working for him seem to be picking up on the basics of engaged customer service and that may explain why there are always people in the store. read more
