We used Boston Audio Rentals to deliver and install a Pipe & Drape for our November 2022 wedding. Despite assuring us that they had been to our venue "many times" and would be able to provide the Pipe & Drape, they failed to properly set up the Pipe & Drape as agreed and have since failed to respond to our request to discuss the issues following the wedding (other than one email suggesting that the problems with the setup were somehow our fault). We had a terrible experience with this company and would strongly recommend not using them. Prior to our wedding we told Boston Audio Rentals that we needed the Pipe & Drape to hide the tables which would be preset prior to our ceremony. We gave them the required setup and a picture from our venue from another wedding with our desired setup months in advance (see attached), and they received a diagram from our venue. Based on this information Boston Audio Rentals told us how many sections of Pipe & Drape we needed. On the day of the wedding their employee showed up and had no knowledge of the setup we required and had to dig through his emails to find the diagram. Once he set it up, he called the groom (point of contact) and explained that he did not have enough sections to complete the desired setup (that Boston Audio Rentals had agreed to months prior) and that he was too far from their office to obtain more sections. As you can see from the picture attached, the setup does not conceal the back of the room at all and further the sheets were also sheer which both obviously completely undermine the entire point of the Pipe & Drape in concealing the tables. We expressed our dissatisfaction during the day of the wedding, and only after involving our venue coordinator was she able to reconstruct the sections in such a way that at least the back of the venue was somewhat obstructed, but far from the agreed setup that we had paid $1000 for (plus a premature tip that was given upon the employee's arrival). We have since reached out to the company who has been almost entirely unresponsive and now suggests the problems were our fault. This experience was extremely upsetting on our wedding day. We also wanted to note that we had no other complaints about any other vendors from our wedding other than Boston Audio Rentals. We would strongly recommend avoiding this company not only for the bad outcome, but also their extremely disappointing customer service and lack of care in their final product. read more

I was planning a wedding event and didn't have the best idea what I needed to rent. Boston Audio Rentals walked me through the process of renting exactly what I needed. I even received quotes from similar places in the area and their price was among the cheapest. The workers are very responsive, they came and set up the speakers on the wedding day and explained how to operate them (and the mixer), and the broke down the speakers at the end. We hired Boston audio rentals to do a photo booth for an elementary school picnic. The pictures were very backlit and I had to advise the technician of how to adjust in order to get the pictures to show up properly. He didn't seem very knowledgeable or interested in ensuring the picture quality was good. Additionally it seems like it was set up for adults so all of the pictures had children very tiny at the bottom of the pictures. I asked if the camera could zoom or if there was anything that could be done so the pictures came out better, he said no. Would not use them again read more

I had such high hopes. I hired these guys for an event recently. My whole goal was to outsource the audio/video for this event as to eliminate the stress that I would have been under if I had to supply/do the AV for the event myself. Unfortunately, as it turns out, I spent the entire afternoon stressed out because of these guys. 1, they arrived 45 minutes late to the venue, 2, the two techs were in first gear throughout the setup w/no concern for my time and need to test the system "PRIOR" to the event starting....3, they didn't bring any microphone with them. REALLY????!!!! The whole point was to do "Audio" & video for this event!!! The lack of urgency about that simply blows my mind, they said "a guy" will bring one out in time. Yeah...well that never happened so we had to run the event without the aid of a microphone resulting in nobody being able to hear the presenters that afternoon. I looked like a total ASS for not having audio abilities for the event. Way to go Boston Audio!!!! To date, there has been ZERO effort at contacting me with at least an apology let alone any sort of credit for the money I spent to hire these guys. Ironically, there would have been less stress if I simply supplied the equipment and did everything on my own. Lesson learned!! I was hosting an event and realized my AV equipment was faulty. I contacted Sunny at Boston Audio Rentals and THEY SAVED THE DAY. I had an hour and a half before guests arrived and was "freaking out" The Boston Audio Rental team was able to travel across the city with the equipment and had it set up with time to spare. Problem associated with bringing back equipment: 1) Correct company name not listed in electronic directory at door, so I couldn't use it to call them to let me in. 2) Called company phone number and it went to voice mail. 3) After a lengthy delay I finally reached owner, wasn't on premises and it took me repeatedly asking him (multiple times in multiple calls how to get into building and where to go to return equipment. Over all, no (or useless) help in returning their gear. My conclusion is they are disorganized and not focused on providing customer service. Brought concerns to attention of staff and to owner. Both were indifferent to my concerns. Customer service is not a priority for Boston Audio rental and overall they are a hassle to deal with. I'd suggest you try another rental company. read more

We had a wonderful experience renting an outdoor movie package. Because of the unpredictable weather, we had to make a last minute reschedule and they were very accommodating with our change. Had an event in Cambridge and needed a PA system. These guys were prompt with my quote request, and based on my event information, they provided an appropriate suggestion for equipment. Aside from the great service, the price was cheaper than all the other companies I heard back from. In case it was not, they offered to beat any competitor's price by 10%. Booked two PA systems for our wedding instead of a DJ (we figured a DJ wouldn't have all the Depeche Mode songs we'd want to hear) through Bob at Boston Audio. He was prompt and courteous in emails, and the price for two PA systems (we needed one for the ceremony and one for the reception) was cheaper than most places quoted us for one PA. On the day of our wedding, like six people from BAR showed up to help set up the equipment. I was off getting pictures taken, but popped in just to see if they had really showed up and saw them working. The staff was super nice, had already introduced themselves to our wedding coordinator, and trained our MC on how to use the mics and the mixer with our laptop. Hell, a staff member even stuck around for the ceremony so they could immediately break down one PA as another event needed the room where our wedding was right afterwards! We needed some last minute audio equipment for the finish of the One Run for Boston, a non-stop running relay from L.A. to Boston that covered over 3,000 miles in 23 days.
