Great food, drinks & interior! Surprised more people aren't here eating, studying, drinking. Worth the visit :)

With that being said, I've tried a variety of their menu items. They offer a wonderful variety of tex-mex dishes, burgers, soft-serve, and more. Another thing I appreciate about all their entrees is that you can customize them, include whatever meat you want, remove items, and add items. I really do appreciate this as it makes your meal truly cater to your cravings! This location is a takeout spot or drive-thru experience. There isn't any indoor seating spaces, although they do have a covered outdoor eating space. The service is usually pretty quick and friendly. I have never had any issues here with my order and I have always received the correct order within a reasonable amount of time. Everything is made to order and tastes very fresh as well. I would say the prices are fair and the portions are giving, depending on what you order. They do not offer complimentary chips with most meals though. On my most recent visit, I tried their nachos with shredded beef and churros. The nachos included a bed of their corn tortilla chips topped with black refried beans, jack & cheddar cheese, then topped with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa fresca. These were just ok and definitely not my favorite thing from here. I don't think nachos are served best as takeout and the chips got kind of soggy. There was a plentiful amount of the tender shredded beef though. The flavors were there, it just wasn't executed the best and I would probably opt for their tacos instead. I also don't love El Indio's guacamole as it reminds me of premade store bought guacamole. Their chips are also hit or miss...sometimes they taste very fresh and other times they are slightly stale. On this particular experience I didn't think I got the freshest chips. Their churros I got hit the spot and were coated in ample amounts of sugar & cinnamon. I thought these were a perfect way to end my meal and really enjoyed them! Overall, I really think El Indio is a solid spot for Mexican in Midtown. They have a solid business and are relatively close to campus. The food tastes very authentic, is fresh, and has a lot of flavor. While the nachos weren't my favorite, I love their tacos (all of the meats I've tried have been wonderful!), taco bowls, and their soft-serve is AMAZING. I truly enjoy ordering here and will definitely be back soon! I would recommend checking them out if you haven't already.

The shrimp was cooked perfectly and there was a (what seemed to be) mayo based sauce inside. The slaw was nice, though if it was a bit sweeter it may have been even better. The nachos are my go-to. The Guac and sour cream on top is my favorite part and it's always super fresh. The staff are always super friendly and service is fast! It's a seat-yourself order at the counter type of place. Nice covered outdoor seating

Everyone I've interacted with has been amazing, but Jill truly stands out, she has some of the best customer service skills I've experienced anywhere. Overall, an all-around great establishment. Okay, this is a hard one. Let's get this out of the way first...Magoo's was good. I'm a Cane's fan…read morebut wanted to give this a try. Honestly both do things well. I like Cane's fingers and comeback sauce better, but HM has a ton of sauce choices not just one like Cane's. In this respect, it's like Saucys, but better. They also have salads like Zaxbys, but better. And nuggets, let's not forget the nuggets. Their Texas toast probably the best in town. Blows Cane's out of the water. For fries I give the edge to Cane's. So if you only one strips and comeback sauce, Cane's wins. If you want variety, like salads and nuggets and a variety of sauces, Huey Magoo's wins. Zaxby's which used to be one of our favorites has gone downhill and is really only an option if you want wings, which the other restaurants do not have. Saucy's, unfortunately, which replaced PDQ, comes in last. So overall, I like this place. It's a bit hard to find, but if you're an old timer it's in the last location where Burritos Brothers used to be, just off Univ Ave. If you're looking for some good chicken strips, I'd give this place a try.
