My go to spot every time I'm in Chicago!…read more We love everything about this store and the specials they offer. When you arrive, it looks like a grocery store/food stalls with product specials right inside. It's always something different but great deals! On the first floor is check out and an area to grab quick bites including pizza, fresh sandwiches, and gelato. We always head upstairs to the grocery and wine area - there are also more food stalls and a restaurant. Our favorite is the fresh bread and then charcuterie section. This is a must stop in Chicago!

We have never been here before and saw they offered a summer Fridays tasting event. The event…read moreitself I wouldn't recommend - they give you tiny sample portions of preselected items on paper hotdog containers. Considering this place is supposed to have some class, we were pretty appalled that they seemed to do the bare minimum for this event. I felt very deceived by how this event was advertised online vs in real life. It seems they intentionally left out details and was marketed as five tastings at five counters, but we receieved barely a sample at each sation. The website said 1. house made pasta - you have one option and it was three bites, no vegetarian option 2. roman-style pizza - only thing I won't complain about although still a small portion 3. Curated drink from Caffe Lavazza - this was a dixie cup portion of a blended Frappuccino 4. house made pastry - they gave you the option of literal bite sized dessert, not a whole pastry 5. the artisanal salumi and formaggi - pathetic, literally 1 piece of meat, three pieces of the same type of cheeses, three olives, and dry stale crackers. Honestly for what they offer this was a slap in the face and from a consumer perspective Eataly's attempt at a summer money making scheme. I would find it hard to believe anyone who rave about this event, in fact I imagine most left very underwhelmed and still hungry. Eataly itself might be a great experience but we did not have the opportunity. We enjoyed the spritz drinks we ordered for their $9 summer special but this event did not make me want to return at all. It unfortunately dangled everything they could have offered in front of us, but then gave us the lowest tier. Driving in traffic to do this was not worth the time, gas, parking or inconvenience and the best part of our city night was when we stepped out of Eataly.

Technically a 3.5…read more Tl;dr big selection of East Asian groceries, but at a higher price than you'd fine a bit further away. Food court is ok and can be crowded at times. ===== A bit of a trek from downtown, but sadly I think this is the closest East Asian grocery store to the loop. It can be pretty crowded in here at peak times. Good selection of produce, dried goods, sauces, snacks, meat etc. they also have a nice section of fish cakes and fish balls as well as sashimi and other sushi-making ingredients. My favorite things to buy here are produce, tteok, rice, and overpriced kimbap (~9$+ per roll). Things here are generally pretty pricy compared to other shops out in Chinatown or in the suburbs. My beloved Joong Boo shall remain first in my heart over this place since it's much more reasonably priced, and the food court is better. They do have some good deals here that you can find on their weekly flyer. Food court is ok and has SGD tofu house which is my go-to, a fried chicken and corn dog place, and some other place I forgot that was probably meh. Staff are very friendly and things here are generally well-organized and easy to find. There's a Paris Baguette, too, which is often out of many kinds of bread if you go in the later afternoon.

They have prepared meals, which was very convenient and helpful for me. They even have an area where you can sit and dine if you would like. They have foods and goods that you may not find elsewhere, e.g., Vita Soy soy milk. They also have amazing-appearing prepared foods, e.g., delicious sushi. Their foods seem to be high quality. They have a lot of staff in case you need help shopping. They have lots of snacks. They also have a parking lot, which helps in downtown Chicago.

I have been craving Middle Eastern "Labne" for a really really long time now, so I decided to hop…read moreon the brown line right after work and head straight to this market. The location is extremely convenient. The minute you walk out of the Kedzie Brown Line stop you make a right and you're there. There's parking, which is good to know. It took over 50 minutes to get here on the train. It might be a lot faster if I drive, so I'm glad there's parking at least. The grocery store is huge and has a variety of Middle Eastern and Turkish goods. I bought several cheeses, from Kashkaval to Halloumi and most importantly my Labne! The meat looked extremely fresh, but I wasn't going to risk dragging it on the train with me all the way back to downtown, but I'll definitely keep that in mind if I drive back there. The isles are organized and neat. There's also a mini bakery in the store and it has delicious sweets and lots and lots of fresh bread. They also have the famous Middle Eastern Mankushe (thyme and cheese flavors)! I wanted to buy so many more things but there's only so much I can carry with me. The employees were super helpful and helped find a few things I needed. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is because there were some expired items in the fridge, but nothing that drastic! Till next time!
