Let me start by saying the only bright spot was our in-store salesperson, Ewan, who was absolutely wonderful. It's a real shame that our first (and now last) experience with City Furniture has been marred by poor customer service after the sale, especially considering how great Ewan was. Unfortunately, everything after that initial purchase has been a major letdown. We recently bought this sectional from City Furniture, and while we love the piece itself and it is very comfortable, our experience with customer care has been frustrating and disappointing. Upon delivery, we noticed a very obvious stain on one of the visible pillows. No big deal, we thought. We had purchased the additional 3-year coverage and figured we'd just get a replacement pillow cover. Simple enough, right? Wrong. We immediately notified customer care, and instead of just sending a new zippered pillow cover, they insisted on sending a technician to try and repair the issue. The first tech was scheduled within a 4-hour window, but they never showed up, despite saying they were on their way. Two days later (now outside of the 14-day window they use for returns/exchanges/price matches), another technician came out--this time on time and professional--but the cleaning solution he used did absolutely nothing to fix the stain. When I reached out to customer care again, I was met with a bizarre response: they asked how much I'd be willing to accept in cash to keep the damaged pillow as is. They offered either $120 in cash or $245 in store credit to live with the stained pillow. I also noticed the sectional had gone on sale for $1,799, $400 less than what we paid, but because we were now outside their 14-day price match guarantee, they refused to honor it unless I went through the store directly for an exception. *Update- I went through the store, only to find out that the price match does not apply to items that have already been delivered. Apparently, delivery completes the sale, even if the item were to go on sale the following day after being delivered. This detail is not included in their website's FAQs under "Are your prices the same in-store and online?" Eventually, customer care said they'd send a replacement zippered pillow cover--but it'll take approximately 12 weeks (3 months!) to arrive. No discount, no gift card, and no price match. To say this experience has been exhausting would be an understatement, but it definitely gives us a story to tell our guests when they visit our new home over these next 3 months and ask about the big stain. read more

My partner and I visited the Tamarac HQ of City Furniture for the second time (first time was an initial browsing visit). This time we were interested in purchasing our bedroom and dining room furniture. We entered and were greeted by Sales Associate Charles who offered his assistance once we browsed around. The store has two floors and is very expansive - and also has a side Outlet store (which is also very big). The first time we visited, we were a little overwhelmed by the products and we had to come back for a second look. We showed Charles the bedroom set we liked the best and he started the order process. We then showed him our top 3 choices for a dining room set and he provided his honest feedback (which we greatly appreciated!) and he added this to the order as well. We then proceeded to the mattress section of the store and Charles gave us the layout of the room and also his feedback and his recommendations in the mattress section. He then added everything to the order and setup delivery and the final purchase. I love the quality of City Furniture's merchandise and prices were great. They also offer financing and during our visit, we selected 10% off the furniture if we didn't finance. The only thing I would critique the brand on is the delivery- they offer free delivery to your home but it only gets dropped off at your doorstep and not assembled for you. If you have the delivery crew take it in to your home, it then is a "premium delivery" with a few hundred dollar price tag to it. But I would highly recommend City Furniture to anyone- it's a great store, with great products and friendly staff! read more

It is painfully obvious City Furniture is deliberately scamming customers. Yes, they are intentionally misrepresenting products on their showroom floor. We bought 2 console tables. The first delivery attempt arrived with two console tables that looked nothing like the one on showroom. In addition, each table arrived with clear defects/repair attempts. They scheduled a 2nd delivery and what a surprise....the two tables were vastly different from one another! Yes two completely different tables. One table table had a very rough and grainy top and the other a very smooth top. And again, neither table looked anything like the one on showroom floor. After countless hours on the phone, they decided you know what? Sorry no refund. Why? Because according to a puppet from their Tamarac corporate office, no two tables are alike and will come with unique markings. You see...this is precisely how the scam is set into motion. This puppet believes that by simply saying silly little phrases, like "unique markings" that City is now completely absolved from any wrongdoing. As though, I went into their warehouse and purposely chose defective and completely different items from the one I thought I was buying. This Tamarac puppet knows damn well this is wrong and that if it were her or her parents on the other side, she'd be outraged. And guess what...the tables with the "unique markings" aka defects/repair attempts are still at our house and no one has bothered to call and schedule pickup? They are simply hoping we will go away. Furniture City is a very big store. They have lots of furniture and lots of salesmen. The quality is middle of the road, affordable with a large selection. We spent a couple of times walking around trying to figure out what we liked and we had a special table we needed to get so it was really hard to find what we wanted. Plus maybe my wife is picky hahaha... Anyway we finally found something that we liked and we're picking it up right now. We're so excited! We also called earlier to make sure that what we wanted was in inventory and that always is good cuz if they don't have it inventory it may take a month to get it. So, here we sit for over a half hour, waiting for our accessories at the loading dock. The salesperson wrote the order incorrectly - from what the warehouse guy told us- and they can't release the pieces that we used a store credit and a credit card to pay. We called a half hour ago to move our nail salon appointment and took the latest one they had for our techs. And we just called again to cancel that appointment because we're still here. If we cancel this order we'll have to return to the store to do more paperwork. Wow, how to mess up such a simple order...4 accessories. Trash business with trash service. I had a furniture delivery today and had what I thought was a small problem (it actually wasn't) but I want home for the delivery and had to rely on a picture. Anyway, the "customer care" team is so ignorant on their product they were unable to answer a simple question. I was then told by supervisor Christine V. (the fourth person I spoke to), "it's in your house, it's yours." This was after the salesperson said, you have one day to decide if you want to keep it. The driver had just driven away 5 minutes before I called. My warning to you is, DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM CITY FURNITURE. Their customer service is lacking completely. Upon moving to Florida we purchased a Serta extra firm mattress that has severely let us down. I have back problems and this mattress has gotten softer and softer by the day, definitely not what I expected for the price of this expensive mattress. It now has a dent which is irreversible, and odd as I am under 110 lbs. The color of the mattress is dark blue and it has bled onto my mattress cover, ultimately ruining it. I got approved for 3,000 originally but at the end when we were totaling everything the person submits a total for 3,300 and said that's fine we have a $300 window with the credit. Great experience turned horrible experience. TLDR: Don't buy your furniture in store because they have a no return, no refund, no exchange policy the second it is delivered. Backstory: My wife and I saw a dresser on their website and since the showroom is 5 miles from our house we went to see it in person. Wife had contractor measure the space and she measured the dresser there. Stopped someone walking by who happened to be a manager... showed him it was cheaper online and he said we'll match the online price if you buy it here today and we'll get delivery set up. We were sold and he pulled a sales associate aside. Get everything set up and paid for. Even bought their protection plan. Nowhere do we recall in the conversation that if we purchased this online we had 3 days to return it after delivery or that if we purchased in store there was a zero returns policy. I think we would've remembered that and I would've double checked measurements myself before making a $1500 purchase. Dresser is delivered and turns out contractor measured wall to wall, not baseboard to baseboard. Within 24 hours of delivery I call customer service. Finally get through after a long delay and told no returns. Go to the store and speak to a manager who understand the story and tries to work with customer service... no returns. No store credit, no exchanges, nothing. We were literally going to buy it online where the return policy is 3 days but since the manager said her match price we purchased in store out of convenience. Im sure it was in the paperwork we signed in the iPad but I guess I expected they would communicate anything out of the ordinary in the contract. If they did they'd probably lose a lot of sales. This probably explains the 2.5 star yelp score over 4k better business bureau complaints! I should've been smart enough to check those prior to purchase. This was a great experience turned horrible. this most recent experience has been absolutely horrendous! Upon purchasing my new set, we had it scheduled to be delivered a couple days later. Great! Fantastic, until it wasn't! First, on delivery, the delivery people gave us a 30 minute window of arrival, to which they didn't show up until over an hour beyond that! Very unprofessional. Secondly, they leave this delivery explaining to us that we didn't purchase legs for our table! Ummm excuse me?! Of course I did, how do you buy a table with no legs? What kinds of nonsense is that? So... I call our rep who helped us, and to my dismay, he did not add the legs in our order. Why that's an option?! No idea! Ridiculous! - we had already sold our dining table so now we were expecting a table to eat on as a family- and at this point we are going on a few days with no table to sit at. Additionally, they owed us a chair as well as they were short a chair to be delivered! (Way to go city furniture, strike one) So, after much back and forth with the rep, we add the much needed legs to the order and then the process of figuring out a day that works between my husband and i's busy work schedules, coordinating a delivery someone can be home because they just couldn't get it right the first time. So, few days later, it was scheduled for delivery of our table legs and this missing chair. When this delivery comes, upon final inspection of everything, it was noted there is a dent and a gap in one of my side chairs, and all my chairs have finger stains on them and one of other chair pieces has a hole in it!!. So, I let the people who deliver know, he takes pictures of the chairs with the damage. - AND side note: we paid for "white glove delivery" or whatever they call it, they guys tried to leave with my table not even fully placed, they left the leaf leaning on my wall - so I promptly waived them back in to tell them please place this in for me. You pay for this service how about you ask the customer if everything is ok before you want to RUSH out of their home? What kind of service is this?! So.... To continue on, I call customer service to explain someone needs to come clean my chairs that are dirty, fix my damaged chair and replace this piece with a hole. Phone representative explains they noted all these things and set it up for that Monday, for professional cleaning etc. further explained that I would receive communication via text the night before (which would be Sunday night) around 8pm. Around 8:30 - received NO MESSAGES FOR THE 3 hour window (which I know should happen because I got one for my initial delivery) - at this point I tried to call customer service and SUPRISE of course they are closed. (I did get an email confirmation that stated I will have professional cleaning scheduled for that Monday) so I can. First thing Monday morning. I speak to one rep, it's about 8am, she tells me she cannot get ahold of the technician despite multiple attempts. She then gives me the number for the tech, my husband and I both try to call and text the tech for over an hour. Never responded. To this moment writing this, NOTHING!!! I'm fuming at this point, so I call back another time to speak to another rep. After much back and forth with this rep states oh , well either way they will contact you about 15 mins prior to arrival. I explain- NO! This is unacceptable, I planned for someone to be at my house for This because this is what we were initially booked for! You can't just call someone and say suprise I'm here! So after much back and forth and frustration on what a HORRIBLE experience this was, we ended up rescheduling this for yet again... a few days later. -- so pending the outcomes of this. I am sharing this because i too work in a "customer service" industry as I am sure many of us in this world do to some degree. This is NOT a good workflow and process. The amount of disappointment and frustration caused to the client is unacceptable and discouraging. City furniture GET IT TOGETHER. !! While your sales department may be on point, the back end of the service is broken and extremely flawed. The customer service experience doesn't end at the sales rep. COMPLETE THE CIRCLE! Close the loop! A situation as the one I experience is a major deterrent from wanting to come back. I am sharing this for awareness to all, keep your eyes open and hopefully this can be avoided to some degree. I called City Furniture on Nov. 4, 2024 for service on my white Bernhardt Sofa. I needed to have a small stain removed. The stain looked like an ink stain and was on one armrest and one cushion. The service technician entered my home with a spray bottle of carpet cleaner. When I told him that the stain was on my leather sofa and not on the carpet, he told me that it didnt matter as the carpet stain remover was the same as the leather cleaner. I let him try to remove the stain knowing quite well that it was not going to work. I was not surprised when he told me that he could not remove the stain. He took pictures of it and told me that City Furniture would be contacting me. True to his word, I did receive a call from City Furniture telling me that they were going to order a new armrest and cushion for my sofa. When I questioned the fact that the color probably would not match since my sofa was over a year old, I was told that the color probably would not match, but City Furniture does not color match. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable. Even though I had paid an extra fee for in Home Service and stain remover, I was told that this would be the last time that they could service my sofa. I am extremely upset with the way that this claim is being handled. When I called to speak with another supervisor, I was on hold for over 40 minutes and never received a call back from anyone regarding this issue. I must add that Caitlin M. did respond to my review and told me that she would like my full name and phone number so that she could take immediate action to correct this issue.......I never received a call from her..... I even sent her a second email today, and still no response. I will never do business with this company again, nor will I recommend them. City Furniture Delivery Recently I purchased a sectional at this store - Tamarac, FL. Was told I would get free-white-glove delivery and installation. Well be careful, according to City Furniture, the white glove delivery service, is receiving your supposedly brand new furniture without any boxes, or plastic for wrapped protection on your furniture inside of their delivery truck. Furthermore, the delivery men walked into dirt/mud with their shoes into my house. I had to question them about this after several trips, then the finally put something at my door entrance to walk on before entering my house. I made a complaint to City Furniture, but I am not sure that they were as concerned about my furniture the I was. The only thing they kept asking was whether the furniture ok and there was nothing I could do once I accepted the delivery. Be aware of what you are told and what was done!! Lovely furniture - just not meant for normal use. Daughter recently got new bedroom furniture. One glass of water later and it's cracked and warped under a single glass of water for about an hour. I've been a loyal customer of City for over a decade and have spent thousands in the store over the years on various pieces from patio furniture to bedroom sets to couches and everything in between. Today Wendy and Juan informed me that customer retention wasn't worth replacing the $200 nightstand and that it wasn't meant to hold a cup of water. I expect this lack of quality and service from maybe Walmart and IKEA. Not from City Furniture. And when I asked Juan to speak to someone else he pretended he couldn't hear any more and disconnected the call saying he'd call back - big shock - no call back. We bought 6 bar stools from City Furniture in 2017 and they have all stripped. Poor Quality. We are stuck with this because cannot return them. I think we should at least get a store credit, considering that we have been loyal customers for over 20 years. This is our second bad experience in the last 3 years. The product quality is going I got a call from CF. They are offering me a discount on my next bar stool purchase. I am not interested in buying another set of bar stool from CF. I think they should be reasonable and give me a store credit for any item. I think the deserve at least 75% of the cost. read more

I believe the salesman's name was Matthew. He was the nicest salesman I've ever met. I was only looking to get some ideas for new furniture, and when he approached me, I let him know that. Usually they turn up the salesmanship to try to coax you into buying something, but he did not. He let me know if I needed anything, he was available. When I saw something and I wanted more information, I found him readily available to answer my questions and he was extremely helpful. I didn't buy anything on this visit, and he wasn't perturbed by that at all. I'm sure I'll be back, though. Salespeople like Matthew are few and far between and he deserves my business. Oh, and they have some nice furniture. I guess that's important in a furniture store. read more

BIG LOSS - Beware of refund policy and restocking fee. Email to salesman Mousa: Thank you for returning my call. Unfortunately, my mother is very disappointed in her experience and treatment with City Furniture. You explained that because this couch set was a 'special order' there are no refunds. In addition, you explained that there is a restocking fee of $419 (30%). And more so, you said City Furniture is charging her $100 to come remove the love set from her living room and the sofa from her garage. So in addition to being displeased with the couch set...now my mother is out $519 and she has NO Furniture. My mother is elderly and has no couches during the holiday season. This is a sad state of affairs that leaves me wondering why you did not sell the set that was available on the sales floor?? Why was her ordered classified as a 'special order'?
