    Larger bed bug

woke to bed bugs 7/8/25. went to the front desk to notify them and was blamed for the bed bugs; absolutely not true! room 223. No help only blame and denial.

2020JAN14-17 So far, so good. Nice room Bed comfortable, blackout blinds actually keep the light out. Wish they had two arm chairs in the room though, when two guests. The refrigerator was set too high apparently though, froze my fruit. Wasn't too happy. 2020JAN18: Maid never bothered to clean the room, make the bed, take out the trash. Nothing. Really disappointed with the maids.. The first day we have left the privacy tag off the door and they do not bother to service the room. 2020JAN19: A breakdown in communication from afternoon staff to morning staff about yesterday's maId service. Maid did come in today; when mentioned failure, maid apologized & took care of room. Maids are changed day to day on their assignments.

Visiting friends in Beaufort and decided to book here. We had a very nice stay at a good rate. I am always surprised when people only want to pay a 3 star price but expect a 5 star hotel. Or complain about location but know where the hotel is when they book. It's ridiculous. The Hampton Inn is just off the main road in downtown Beaufort. It is Not near the historic district. The rooms are clean, updated and the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Their breakfast buffet was really good and their coffee bar was a nice touch. The hotel overlooks a beautiful marshy inlet. I sat on their wooden swing with my morning coffee enjoying the view. If you need a place to stay in Beaufort, I'd recommend the Hampton Inn. I'll be back.

The next morning when people checked out of the Federal room (guess the air conditioner was functioning in that room after all), we were begrudgingly moved to that room, which was indeed lovely. They offered a gift card for our troubles and after some back and forth agreed we did not have to pay for the night we spent in the basement room. The whole thing was handled poorly and put a damper on the weekend. The owner clearly wanted nothing to do with us, but the staff did feel badly and tried to compensate. Will not be staying again.

Just know it is very dark at night, which may make navigating the downtown area difficult for those visually impaired or need physical accommodations. The check in staff was lovely, and helped up get our dog checked in for $35 a night. The rooms are spacious, renovated, but I noticed some areas that a renovation can't hide- alas, this is a best western. Very lovely place to stay when you're in the area, very well priced, close to downtown and the river walk. From one hotel snob to another, this was definitely doable! The staff upon check in, check-out and throughout our stay was very friendly and helpful. Complimentary water bottles were also available in the reception area throughout our stay. Free parking on the property is also convenient. Our room was on the second floor, which required a bit of walking and stairs, which we did not mind. But, keep this in mind if that may be an issue for you. The room and bed were very comfortable and had all the amenities we would need. The complimentary breakfast is by far one of the best breakfasts included with a stay. An ample selection of hot food (eggs, bacon, sausage) as well as freshly baked biscuits, muffins and hummingbird cake! Yes, hummingbird cake! I've always wanted to try it and it did not disappoint. I'd easily stay at the Best Western Sea Island Inn again if I found myself in Beaufort, SC.

Through our research, we finally settled on 607 Bay Inn and I'm glad we did. We were graciously welcomed upon arrival and given a lay of the land which included two communal kitchens, the veranda and balcony, and our room. Our room was situated on the second floor at the back of the house. Each room has its own private bath. We also received vouchers to be used for breakfast at our choice of a couple of different eateries downtown. 607 Bay is easily within walking distance of shopping and restaurants as well as the waterfront. The inn has delightful waterfront views itself. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony as well as our evening nightcap. It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized I had an appreciation for architecture, especially that of the previous century or two. This inn has that charm in spades. Though the essentials are updated as you can see from the pictures, the old wooden floors have a creak to them and the doors to the front of the house have notes on how to open them with ease. It's a charm that, to me, is priceless. Everything at the inn was well appointed. We had zero issues during our stay. If we're ever back in the area, staying here again would be an easy yes for us. I would recommend it for you as well.

Dirty rooms with mold. No privacy. FALSE advertising…read more The photos of the rooms are beyond misleading. Privacy is non-existent. You can hear through the walls. Almost all of rooms are just modified duplexes/apartment buildings with shared entryways and balconies. We booked one room for almost $500 a night for a romantic evening and they tried to put us in a cheaper room thinking we would not notice. It was damp, moldy and I found a bug in the room. Once I complained that it did not match our reservation, they suddenly told us about an alleged A/C issue and tried to put us in a "better room". The furniture was damaged and the shower was moldy in that room and in NO way was this comparable to the reservation we made a month prior. Park passes, breakfast and bicycle rentals are "complimentary" but yet they charge you $18 a day resort fee to have access. I do not recommend staying here at all.

Traditional inn in a pretty pink house with rooms decorated with old fashioned wardrobes and…read moreflowery wallpaper. Bed rather soft and bouncy which is always an issue with older lodgings. The place can use some updating and they seem to be doing that - part of the house is under construction looking like a new deck in the works and at night also work being done to the lobby. The room we booked is a "courtyard queen studio" which has the following description on the website - "Our Courtyard Queen Studio guest rooms are ideal for business or solo travelers. These rooms feature queen beds and stand-up showers. The upper-floor studios have private verandas that overlook the semi-private Lower Courtyard, and the ground studios have lovely front patios and gardens adjacent". However our room doesn't seem to match much of the description other than it has one queen bed, as the bathroom has a small tub, and we are on the second floor but no veranda (maybe second floor is not "upper floor"?). Anyway also not sure why they are called "studios" since it's just one standard room. Anyway other than that our overall stay is comfortable enough - the ceiling fan is a good feature. Breakfast is a bit of an issue however. The inn doesn't provide breakfast so you are given a voucher to have breakfast at one of two nearby cafes. Each voucher basically only subsidizes your breakfast by $7 or $10 respectively which is not enough to include coffee or tea and depending on what food you order will not cover the full amount of that either. That came as a surprise and is not what I'd expected when breakfast is supposed to be included. I don't mind going somewhere else for breakfast but the voucher should cover a set menu that includes at the very least breakfast food and beverages.

Unacceptable Safety Breach & Shocking Management Failures…read more I returned to my room at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15th to find housekeeping had left my door propped wide open to the public. I immediately went to the front desk where two receptionists were working. One receptionist located an available, clean room and actively began processing my safety transfer, while the other receptionist stepped away to call General Manager Faith Allen, who was off-property. Faith Allen explicitly ordered the staff to halt the transfer and withhold the clean room to prioritize guests who hadn't even checked in yet, forcing me out into the night for my own safety. When I noticed they wrongfully billed me for an extra night, I called Faith Allen on Thursday. Instead of showing accountability, she was aggressive and dismissive. She told me I checked out after 4:00 PM, ordered me to "live with it," and insisted I would absolutely be charged--completely ignoring that her own staff's severe safety breach forced my emergency departure. Her total lack of integrity and hostile attitude are a disgrace to the Hilton brand. When I tried to escalate her actions, I discovered the ownership group, Fidelity Management Group, has completely disconnected phone lines and ignores all emails. They are running a reckless franchise with zero local oversight. Ultimately, the Hilton Corporate Executive Office had to step in, override this local property, force a full night's refund, and issue major compensation for these severe violations. Avoid this location. Faith Allen is a liability, and Fidelity Management Group is completely asleep at the wheel.

During my longer stay, several issues started to add up and made the experience disappointing. Pros: +The gym is nice and well-equipped. +The beds are reasonably comfortable. +The location is convenient, with several restaurants and cafés nearby. +The elevators worked reliably during my stay. Cons: -As a member of Hilton, they gave no water. -There is no free or complimentary breakfast. -The shower water never gets truly hot, it only gets warm. -The sink also did not provide hot water, which made shaving difficult. -When I arrived, the shower was not clean and still had someone else's hair in it, which I had to clean myself. -The toilet was not clean upon arrival and doesn't flush properly unless you hold the handle down. -Housekeeping was very inconsistent. During my stay of more than four days, the room was only "cleaned" once, and even then they only made the bed. Items like toilet paper and other supplies were not replenished; I was left with a nearly empty roll and had to get another myself. -The complimentary shower soap dispenser was empty and never refilled. It's a small thing, but it's the principle since it's supposed to be provided. -The mini-fridge never got cold, only slightly cool. -The TV only had very basic channels. -The walls are very thin. I could clearly hear conversations in the next room, including a couple being intimate. I'm sure they could hear my TV as well when I turned it up to drown out the noise. -The pool was locked during my stay, even on a 90-degree day, and it didn't appear to be well maintained. Overall: For a very short stay, the hotel may be acceptable due to its location and decent gym. But for longer stays, the cleanliness issues, inconsistent housekeeping, lack of hot water, and noise from thin walls made the experience frustrating. I don't recommend this hotel.
