That threw me off and my anxiety shot up and I set a boundary, I just closed myself off and just answered with "ok", and yes and no's because I guess she's taking everything out on me and I am just trying to get some important information done. You first sign in then you are directed to the forms to fill out what you need. Then you have to get in a line to leave the form you filled out with a clerk. Then depending what you need the clerk will give you a number and here is where the waiting begins. There is 4 sets of numbers that are called so pay attention when your number is called. Once you are called it will tell you what window you need to appear to be helped. That's where you pay and they direct you to another window to pick up the document you need. I happened to be in the area and decided to stop by to check out their book sale. While their selection was smaller than other libraries I've visited, I loved that they had a "Fill a Bag" sale for just $5 running at the same time as their standard $0.50-$3 per item pricing. I found a few great titles to add to my growing personal library! What stood out most to me were: 1. The building doesn't have an awning or clear signage showing the library's name--kind of surprising for such a seemingly historic spot. 2. The space had a distinct "old" smell, like the carpets hadn't been cleaned in years and decades of foot traffic were still lingering in the fibers. 3. The librarians were incredibly kind and didn't rush me, even though I walked in just 10 minutes before closing. Their patience was especially appreciated as I wrapped up my purchase right around 4:55 PM. It's rare these days to not feel rushed, and their courtesy really stood out to me. All in all, it's a charming little library worth a visit, especially for the book sales!

I had to get permission to go in to work late so I could have it not be delinquent. I can't stand more than a few minutes without intense burning and pain during bad flares, and I'm in a horrible one now since my trunk fell on me and I had already gotten shoulder injections a few weeks prior. My back problems have been present for over 20 years, and I have fibro, AS, and autoimmune issues as well. Anyway, I usually go to the one on Chimney Rock, but that one can take a really long time. If I was off I wouldn't mind so much. The reviews for Griggs as well as calling and speaking with a very nice woman pointed me in the direction of this location. I planned on getting here at 7:30, but rain and life had me moving slow. I arrived in the parking lot after 8:20 and was out by 9:07. That's with me shuffling around my bags because of the rain and trying to protect my paperwork before actually going in. I was even able to get 2 placards, which I was about to ask for as mine looked like who did it and what for after 4 years of actual use. Faded to nothing and taped together in 2 places. I just turned 42 and work full time in addition to having nieces and nephews. My placard is always moving, and I drive my brother's vehicles since I can't easily move the car seats with my musculoskeletal and pain issues. The actual time from waiting in my seat to the desk and out the door was maybe 10-15 minutes. The only suggestion I have is the sign in sheet for the handicapped like the Chimney Rock location has so we don't have to stand in line and wait to check in at the desk for a number. Thankfully the line was short and I spoke with a lovely woman while waiting. However I had brought extra items for the wait(as I've had to wait hours in the past), my chair pillow, umbrella, iPad, and my bag was heavier than usual. Standing was extremely painful. It's not the same as standing with nothing in hand. There were chairs against the wall, but I did not want to risk losing my place in line. Outside of that it was a great experience. I'll be coming to this location for my needs from now on even though it's a bit further from home.

If the bugs and field consistency maintenance improved, I would return.

Another branch was the only branch to have it. I've enjoyed visiting various branches and since getting my library card. This library is really nice! Spacious and clean. There's ample seating with pods, open tables, private meeting/study rooms, and a lovely balcony area with more seating. There's an elevator as well- accessible. My initial visit was during the holidays so there was lots of decor. Librarians/Library staff were friendly and helpful. When I'm in the area, I'll definitely return!
