I absolutely loved this dentist for years! They've always been great and accommodating and super friendly and kind and great service and rest work! So it pains me terribly to leave a sour review; but after owing a patient for about 5 years, they just dropped me and my insurance like a bad habit it and without any warning whatsoever. My cleaning was coming due end of July 2024 and middle of July I get a text message that's says we don't take your insurance anymore. You can either self pay or cancel. That's how I'm treated after years of loyal service. No warning. Not even a phone call to explain. I got nothing but booted to the curb. So anyone who treats longtime patients like that, doesn't get to keep good stars in my book. So it's with much dismay that I have to say something negative, but to have your care provider turn their back on you inexplicably isn't acceptable and incredibly hurtful. read more

I was referred here by a friend and so far they have an absolutely amazing! Dr, Janda and the entire staff are absolutely amazing. I am from out of town and had a crown pop out. Worse, working in my mouth is difficult for the best of dentists due to a previous (unrelated) injury. None of that daunted Dr. Janda, or, any of her team. All were thorough, determining how to solve my situation while being kind and supportive and gentle. My crown was re-installed and I left feeling taken care of. Just left my appointment with Dr. G at City Roots and I'm so blown away! I've had bad luck with dentists throughout my life - some that over charge, root canals not being done properly, everything you can imagine - so I was definitely hesitant about finding a new one here in Denver. A friend told me about City Roots and I'm so glad that she did! The staff was warm and welcoming and everyone introduced themselves to me. Dr. G was so friendly, funny and professional and even asked what music I'd like to listen to during my cleaning! I also had to get a crown put back on and I really appreciated that the receptionist came back to the chair to tell me how much my services would cost BEFORE Dr. G performed them. Do you ever find yourself getting excited for the next time you have to go to the dentist? If not, then you aren't going to City Roots! Haha. I have had some really really terrible luck with dentists in Denver. I have gone to Wynkoop and been overcharged, Sloan's Lake and been brutalized by a hygienist and have THANKFULLY landed myself at City Roots, where my dental woes and anxiety have been completely resolved. Dr. Garrison is hands down, my favorite dentist of all time. He is kind, funny and gives constructive advice. I also believe he is incredibly honest and so far has taken great care with making me feel comfortable in the office. All of the other staff I've met have also been really exceptional. When I scheduled my first appointment, I told my fiance about how ridiculously kind and helpful the front desk woman was. I absolutely 100% recommend this place, especially if the typical boring and daunting dental office deters you from routine cleanings. Experience: This place is like visiting a friend's house. They play fun music and Dr. Garrison is a hoot (he's really funny and makes a long visit breeze right by). The team is welcoming, highly knowledgeable and they do exceptional work. My teeth cleaning was quick and easy and Dr. Garrison did cosmetic work dead center in the front of my smile --- and it turned out FLAWLESS. Billing: Unlike some of my prior experiences at other dental offices, City Roots is honest and fully disclosed all charges before they performed any cosmetic work. They explained exactly what my insurance covered and what I'd pay out of pocket, which is important since dental insurance is confusing. You'll be glad you went here. It had been a while since getting a check up at the dentist and I feared the worst. I found City Roots through my insurance company and thankfully they were a very short distance from my home. Check one in their favor. The online registration and scheduling was a breeze. Check two in their favor. When I arrived for my appointment, everything was as described in emails regarding how Covid protocol would be managed. Check three in their favor. When I was greeted by the assistant at the front desk she was friendly and informative and incredibly efficient. Check four in their favor. My hygienist was a delightful human who was excellent at her job. Check five in their favor. I actually look forward to visiting City Roots Dental. Their hospitality, generosity, and friendliness elicits an experience of having been a patient for years. Each time I visit, Dr. Janda, with patience, care, and authenticity, addresses all of my questions, concerns, etc. I have never felt rushed. I have met several dentists in my life and Dr.G was by far the best. He personally spent more than an hour cleaning my teeth and giving me tips on how to have better oral Hygiene. I just had my first appointment at City Roots after leaving a former dentist I was unhappy with. The care I received here was phenomenal! Super friendly staff (special shout out to my hygienist Holly who did an excellent job cleaning my teeth and made me feel comfortable and at ease). I am usually pretty embarrassed when I visit the dentist, due to all the work I have done in the past. But, Dr. Garrison and Holly did not shame me at all, only offered helpful suggestions to take better care of my teeth at home. Dr. Garrison is definitely one of the coolest and funniest dentists I've ever come across. Often times when I go to the dentist I feel like a child being lectured and belittled because I am so terrible at flossing (though maybe I should take the hint?? :D) Dr. Garrison doesn't do that. I can't be the first or only person that fell in love with Desiree, Alexandra, and Dr. Cody Garrison on sight. I left the office about 30 minutes ago and I'm still coming down from an AMAZING experience. None of my past experiences at the dentist's office have been what one could call "good". In fact, I'd been banned from an office once for punching the doctor after he tried to give me a shot (oops)! It would be an understatement to say that I was anxious while making my way back to the dreaded dentist chair... except, my fears had nothing to latch onto. These people took such good care of me that I even started to question if I'd remembered my past experiences correctly! It's unheard of for me to feel safe for being in such a vulnerable position, but to all my dental-phobic peoples: GIVE THEM A TRY. The service they provide is so outstanding, they redefined GREAT. I 100% trust them. They're extremely professional, extremely friendly, super approachable, and will explain your care in as much detail as you would like. Long story short- I scheduled my next two appointments immediately. I can't wait to go back and get my work done. I honestly can't. This was a better experience than I was expecting,and given that I found them based on Yelp reviews, thanks to everyone that posted reviews before. I'm very thankful to have found City Roots Dental - the staff is great, Dr. Jonda and Dr. Garrison are kind and caring, and I have a good time at the dentist - awesome music, lots of laughs, and an energy that's always warm and welcoming. I thought I was doing good by going to a top-rated, 5280 magazine featured dentist. I was wrong - in fact, I was shocked at what needed attention - a crown was set wrong, my gums weren't happy, and my bite was off. I never thought I would enjoy going to the dentist, but the whole staff at City Roots makes it a fun experience. They are professional, courteous, and don't to find anything and everything wrong with your teeth in order to bill more procedures. They even do free 'fun visits' for babies getting their first teeth! Dr. Janda clearly loves her work and has amazing "chair-side" manner. She clearly articulates what needs to be done to ensure and maintain dental health without the typical guilt trip you receive from most dentists. When I had to move forward a procedure due to a personal trip, Angelina worked magic and her and Dr. J came in on a Saturday to get it done!
