I thought it was a cute place with the white and navy blue colors. You can sit outside or inside. We decided to eat inside. There was about 9 nine people that ordered and was waiting for their food. I know this because while I was trying to order my food, every 2 minutes the other customers would go up and ask about their food. I seen the disgruntled look on these people faces. I would say when it came to anything that dealt with ice cream, it was ready in minutes. But when it came to food such as burgers, fish,fries, it took about 30 mins. My take on this is this establishment needs to keep up with the demands of what they offer. I would suggest limiting the items to choices that are a quick turnaround. They thrive in making the ice cream products fast while the fast food items take 10mins or more. I did not order the Funnel cake due to the worry of waiting for 10mins or more for it. I did not have any issues because I ordered a banana split, Concrete ice cream w/strawberries and Monster cookie on a cone. My selections were ok. I think it satisfied my sweet tooth, but I think the consistency of the ice cream can be improved. If Ted Drew's and Costco is in your rotation, then there's no need to explore elsewhere.

Yesterday, Sophia my little fur-baby had a vet appointment that was just a block away. Being a good dog dad, I made sure she arrived early. In fact, we were so early I had time to kill so I made a stop at, The Cup. To my delightful surprise, they had a special on two of my favorite flavors and they were combined into one cupcake. I love lemon & raspberry. The cupcake was called, Spring Fling. It was a lemon cake, with Raspberry cream cheese frosting and a raspberry filling. The cake was moist and soft. Most importantly, the frosting was not overly sweet and did not overly dominant the cake. It was just the perfect amount of topping. The lady working the counter was attentive and made friendly conversation. I was glad to see that they are part of the, Gift-A-Meal program and that they offered Student Discounts to those who attend SIUE. That's community supporting community.

She also noted that the espresso machine was going through a cleaning cycle and it would take longer and asked if that was alright. I stated that was no problem and waited. The cinnamon roll, it was pretty darn good. I'm picky with my cinnamon rolls and I would definitely come back here for this one. The cinnamon roll was a great size, very good on price point, and most important it was goood! The dough was soft and fluffy with good cinnamon roll gooeyiness throughout, especially in the center. The cream cheese filling was pretty good, not overly sweet. It did have a bit much icing on it for my personal taste but I don't see this being a problem for a lot of people and I'm pretty use to just scraping some off the top to my liking. However, she just handed me another concrete. I realized she just made a mint chocolate chip. I knew my husband wasn't going to like it, but I felt bad asking her to remake it again so I decided to just take it and head home. I was right, he couldn't eat it. The chocolate chips were just too much and they get hard when in icecream which isn't enjoyable to bite into. So unfortunately, that was thrown out as well. Another $6.xx that wasn't enjoyed. They have a very spacious inside area with lots of seating from comfy chairs, to bar stools, to hi top tables, to big tables for families/large groups. You'll want to preview online to be ready or there can be quite the wait as each person looks 1 at a time, at the ordering window. I think a larger menu or having extra copies out to view away from the window would be beneficial. The exit is also awkward, while the entrance & parking are a-ok.
