3/21/26 Me and spouse went here and it was such a beautiful day. Sun was out and not windy. We stumbled across White Cottage because we were looking for Funnel cake. I thought it was a cute place with the white and navy blue colors. You can sit outside or inside. We decided to eat inside. There was about 9 nine people that ordered and was waiting for their food. I know this because while I was trying to order my food, every 2 minutes the other customers would go up and ask about their food. I seen the disgruntled look on these people faces. I would say when it came to anything that dealt with ice cream, it was ready in minutes. But when it came to food such as burgers, fish,fries, it took about 30 mins. My take on this is this establishment needs to keep up with the demands of what they offer. I would suggest limiting the items to choices that are a quick turnaround. They thrive in making the ice cream products fast while the fast food items take 10mins or more. I did not order the Funnel cake due to the worry of waiting for 10mins or more for it. I did not have any issues because I ordered a banana split, Concrete ice cream w/strawberries and Monster cookie on a cone. My selections were ok. I think it satisfied my sweet tooth, but I think the consistency of the ice cream can be improved. If Ted Drew's and Costco is in your rotation, then there's no need to explore elsewhere. read more

Again didn't get what I was supposed to. I ordered a Toms Praline concrete and I got vanilla ice cream with maybe 2 whole pralines total in it. Nothing else. My husband got a turtle concrete and it had no chocolate. Last year I was here and I asked for whip cream and nuts on my sundae and when it didn't have any nuts on it, I asked and she said they were on the bottom. Well nope no nuts on the bottom. This place serves decent ice cream. Their scoops are a little bit smaller comparatively to other places, but the staff is friendly and willing to let you try samples. They do have a garbage flavor as well and when we ask what it is essentially they explained it is everything that has been an error. They just toss it in that bucket so it's always something different. I thought that was creative and fun although I didn't try that flavor. They do have outside and inside seating. Service was slow. There was no one in front of us and it took a bit for them to acknowledge us. My hubby ordered a praline and he said it was perfect. I ordered a cherry sundae with whipped cream and nuts. When mine was handed to me, I didn't see any nuts. When I asked her about it she said they are on there. I said they are usually over the top of the whipped cream and she said "they are on the bottom". "We can't put them on the top any more". I was charged extra for the nuts and trust me there wasn't a single nut to be found. The ice cream had chunks of ice in it, but overall it was pretty good. Kind of sad there were no nuts. You know when you're just craving a little something and having it a certain way? I can't have ice cream very often and so my $7 small sundae was disappointing. I'm not sure what is happening to this place but 3rd time in a row the food is DISGUSTING. The fries looked the size of a happy meal and were cold and RAW. I mean raw. The onion rings were cold and RAW. The burger meat has gone downhill drastically, the quality is just not there. Cheap meat and tastes it too. Years back this place was amazing so I kept hoping it would return to that but this is the 3rd time quality control was absolutely off. Their ice cream was awful. It tasted like a bad case of freezer burn mixed with being stale and had remnants of something in it that tasted like machinery of some sort. The ice cream was solid. Creamy texture, not a lot of flavor to the ice cream itself but the mix-ins were ample. I really liked the caramel in the salted caramel ice cream. I was a little disappointed in the waffle cone bowl, it was bland. On the other hand I loved the "scooby snack" cups, as did my dogs. My kids and I had such a great experience here. All of the food was great -- I got the southwest burger, my one son got the shrimp platter, and the other got the grilled cheese kids meal. Unlike most meals, there was no pushback here. The kids crushed their food. Everything was hot and freshly prepared, much to my liking. Update: Wife and I returned a few weeks ago to grab some ice cream. I had the German Chocolate sundae. It was amazing! Now I know why my wife only gets their hand scooped ice cream. It's soooooo goooooood! The ice cream here is awesome! The burgers and fries are pretty darn good too. Here's the thing, White Cottage has both soft serve and hand scooped ice cream. The hand scooped is better. Though, soft serve is good too. Last trip, I had a Heath concrete (with a shot of hot fudge). Wife had a turtle sundae. Daughter had a simple cup of strawberry ice cream. And the son had something called Superman ice cream. I was the only one who got soft serve. Next time, I won't make that mistake. I'm going with a simple hot fudge sundae. Sitting outside this restaurant in absolute dismay. I have never seen such a badly run business. The process is to bunch up outside and see if one of the service windows opens. Whomever is closest to the window that opens is served. Total crapshoot as to who gets to order. Apparently, there's also walk up service inside because people went in, ordered, ate, and left while we were still waiting for a magic window to open. But, check this out, the person who opens the window writes down your order on paper, takes your money, closes the window and then makes the order. I counted 5 employees, all working independently with zero teamwork or efficiency. Also, gross. Nobody is washing their hands between cashier duties and food prep. So we stood outside waiting for one cone, one sundae, and one float for THIRTY EIGHT MINUTES. No management, no hustle, poor food safety practices. I wish negative stars were an option, because that's what I would give this run down shack of a place. First of all, they have no signs or indicators to tell you which outside window is available to order at, making getting in a line utterly impossible. Secondly, the menu board is an unacceptable excuse, being difficult to read with all of the randomly added on labels and incredibly small font. And third and finally, they have two people taking and making orders, despite there being a full house of workers in the kitchen, making everything unnecessarily difficult and the wait time almost forty minutes for three very simple orders. You can order and eat inside (which we did) or out; the place has constant customers. I had the concrete (chocolate and vanilla soft serve) with brownies and fudge mixed in. Depending on what the add-ons are, you get charged extra. I wish they had "specialties" that are a flat price but for people who love to customize their own this is perfect! They do not hold back on their brownies. They were the consistency of cookie dough. Truthfully I had to pluck many out because it was just too much. It still was good. Hubby had the Clara's Crunch sundae (chocolate crunch, PB) and wow that was amazing. I really love the texture...creamy and crunchy. Unfortunately I tend to steer away from anything that has PB with chocolate (I know I'm weird). If we come back here again I'm ordering this for myself!!
