From the parking lot... I'll be honest, we had doubts. The kind where you look at each other and silently ask, "Are we sure?" But we walked in anyway, and that's where the story turns. Inside, Smokee Mo's is all easygoing, country charm. Welcoming, unpretentious, and full of that "you're gonna be just fine here" energy. The service was friendly right away, no fuss, just good people doing their thing. Then the food showed up, and any hesitation disappeared fast. We shared pulled pork and brisket, with sides of broccoli casserole, beans, and potato salad, plus cheesy garlic bread because... obviously. Everything was flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what you want when you've been on the road too long. No frills, just solid, comforting BBQ that hits the spot. Lesson learned (again): don't judge a place by its parking lot. Sometimes the best meals are hiding behind the most unassuming doors. If you're passing through and running on empty, this is the kind of stop that resets your mood and fills you up in all the right ways.

But that's my _only_ complaint with any SOTS calzone, because they are stuffed to the 'rafters' with the contents and the salads look and feel about what i remember. (so no punishment for the 'feeling' of small.). Serving time was about 13 minutes, but that never bothers me much anymore, being a patient "old man". I got all the time in the world to savor the good things in life. And SOTS Calzone's _are_ one of those good things in life and while the "fonder" wasn't what I recall, this is still one of the best lunch / dinner stops for anyone in the area. And that's saying something, since I've got a few more Creve Coeur locations I have to start preparing a memory trip for!

The Psghetti facility is typically clean with tables wiped down and a clean restroom. I give them kudos for that.

I decided to try the Spicy Meatball Italiano ((homemade meatballs with tomato sauce and hot giardiniera topped with melted hot pepper cheese and served on GCB (garlic cheese bread)). It was the bomb! I loved EVERYTHING about this sandwich, spicy as promised, tender flavorful meatballs and the GCB was the perfect platform for this delicious mess. Full disclosure: I had to eat some of it with a knife and fork because it was so full of deliciousness. That is a sandwich I'll never forget and will certainly be back for.
