First time trying Poke Munch and it wasn't terrible! I was honestly expecting much better from all of the rave reviews I've heard My bowl was decent for sure, but I don't know if I'd get it again. Maybe I got the wrong stuff. I only got sesame chicken & spicy crab as my proteins, plus white rice, spring mix, and onions. No raw fish for me today. The portion size was great, but I found the chicken and the rice to be a bit dry. Maybe I'll try it next time with raw fish!! I did appreciate that the bag the bowls came in were reusable, and that the bowls were cardboard and not plastic. We need more of that energy in the fast casual business!! read more

My favorite go-to is the Avocaloco Bowl with extra sweet chili sauce. The flavors pull through with the rice like a special pairing. Try to get there in the off rush hour and you will almost be assured of a seat. The area is clean and well kept. The cool thing about this location is they have a drive through park and pick up area in front of the restaurant. If it's full, it's a short walk from the parking garage directly behind the building. Since there's so many options you could really get a completely different bowl each visit. I don't remember exactly what I ordered but remember the tuna and salmon tasted fresh. I didn't realize that I never reviewed this place. Before there are lot of poke places like today, this is the first in St. Louis area for Poke. You can either choose from pre defined menu or pick everything from scratch. Over the years, there are new additions to the menu like sweet potato fries and wasabi wave (which I haven't tried yet) My favorite is Maui's Fury (raw sushi grade salmon and other delicious ingredients) Next favorite is crispy hei hei ( chicken ). From my memory, when I was talking to the owner and asking about how the chicken is less oily. He mentioned that's the expensive machine that he bought to make the fried chicken. Cost average is 13 - 15 dollars. Seatings: Very limited inside and few tables outside (depending on weather) Parking: There is very limited parking in the front. Didn't love poke munch but I think that was just a situational thing. I'm open to retry and rereview. I got takeout and my bowl was tiny and half filled. The rice was barely visible and the portion of salmon was pretty small. Flavor wise, the salmon was fresh and the seaweed salad was tasty, but they also didn't really add very much of each topping. The biggest issue for me was that there was very little sauce in my bowl, making it generally a bit dry and tasteless. Didn't really know what to expect as this was only my second poke restaurant that I've tried, I'm not a shrimp or tuna guy so it cut down my options (you can create your own bowl, but I'm not that skilled). I got the Crispy Hei Hei and it's honestly some of the best breaded chicken I've ever had, it's lightly breaded, but still providing a crunch but yet it's so soft that you feel like you don't need teeth to actually bite into it. Love the Food, been going there for about 6 years but what I saw there few weeks back is going to keep me away forever. It was around 2:30 pm the lunch crowd is done. A young man working there was cleaning the floor (had no gloves on), scratching his hair adjusting his hat, right then his supervisor/owner asked him to refill the rice. He picked a bag of cooked rice that was wrapped with a cling wrap, cut the wrap using his hands and refilled the rice. Then started to lick his fingers. Easy fix to replace the employee right ? Few seconds later I see the owner/chef ? ( Asian man) was cleaning the kitchen counter with a rag, again no gloves on, picked my chicken from a batter bowl and puts it in the oven. Walked out from scene hungry. If you experience the same the same or even worse it's probably good to get it in a video of and submit it to the St. Louis health. Wish I did that :( read more

The different sauces you can choose from just make it go over the top changing the taste each bite you take. It's normally fast pick up, usually ready within 15 minutes if you order online. The tofu fries are also a good choice, they have a nice crunchy outside with a soft inside which pairs good wit their sweet soy sauce. I would also recommend if your a first time visitor to get their fish shaped ice cream sandwich. Stopped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon. This restaurant offers curated specialty bowls as well as an option for you to build your own customizable poke bowl. The staff members were patient while we went over all of the menu options. I ordered the Maui's Fury bowl while my partner ordered the Kilauea Krunch with tempura shrimp. We quickly got our food but did have to wait a minute or two for the tempura shrimp as it appears they are made to order which we didn't mind. The bowls contained a good amount of protein and we were both very pleased with our selections. The portions were a good size and my girlfriend only finished about half before taking the rest to-go.
