The city of Seattle offers a free shuttle service to piers, Pike's Place and Needle. We used this instead of waiting around for Hop on Hop Off bus. If you take this tour don't get off until you've completed all 14 stops. That way you will at least get the tour. If you call and complain you will get nothing but a sorry. read more

One of the best investments in our trip to Seattle! Buses do a round-trip loop. Tourists can hop off at stops made and spend as much time as allowed during the bus running hours and hop back on and go to the next stop when desired. We purchased the Groupon for this tour -it was worth every penny! Brenden was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The hop on, hop off is the best way to get a great overview of the city and learn some fun facts about the history of the town. The first pickup location was a little tricky (not clearly marked) so if you are starting at the Space Needle, stand in front of the black lightening bolt sculpture. You'll see a short metal sign saying "15 minute tour bus parking". We had to wait about 15 minutes for the double decker. Will ride again next time we're in town. The bus driver drives unsafely slow. The bus driver who drove on 4th/pike at 5:40pm on July 18 stop/go at a super slow pace that almost cause the other cars behind it to crash into it's back. This one particular bus is causing traffic a few blocks behind its track. read more

People driving buses very nice and accommodating but bus do not run anywhere near the frequency advertised. Wait times in excess of an hour even on the weekends when traffic is light. Ended up walking nearly two miles to get back to get my bags before the check in place closed then waited over an hour at the stop in front of pier 66. Would not use again. Take the free waterfront vans instead for most of what you need to see in the area. read more

Worst hop on-hop off bus experience ever!! I've been on many h.o.h.o. buses before, but always with Big Bus Tours (such a good company!). We made a HUGE mistake by using City Sightseeing Seattle. We paid ~$40 a person. We weren't allowed to get off the bus at the stops. We were actually told to sit down! We felt like we were held hostage on the bus the entire time until we got to Pike Place Market, where the entire bus unloaded (finally)...the problem was.....we had already spent time there the day before...so we didn't want to get off there. We wanted to see all of the other stops !! We were told by a different employee to call the company and ask for a refund and that we WOULD get a refund!!..and that they had been having problems with that particular driver lately. Well, we called the company, and the guy on the phone said yes, absolutely we will get a refund and that he knows that driver personally and that Yes, they have been having issues with him. The guy on the phone said in order for us to get a refund, we need to send an email to the company and then we would get a refund without a problem, since refunds can't be given over the phone. We sent the email, and we NEVER got a response. This is totally ridiculous, and we definitely should be given our money back. It ruined our entire Seattle trip because we only had one full day there, and it was wasted being held hostage on that bus. NEVER AGAIN!! *****USE THE FREE SHUTTLE BUS INSTEAD....it's blue and white. Despite the ads stating buses leave every 30 min we waiting over 90 minutes to get a bus. Finding the starting location information isn't easy and unless you sit on the lower level of the bus (which the point is open air) you can't hear the dismal audio tour. When you can hear it, the audio is largely gratuitous advertising for other businesses- Norwegian cruises, the edge water, Tiffany's etc.... not worth the money read more

These people are thieves. I booked their evening city tour, which was scheduled to depart the Space Needle at 7:00 p.m. At a little after 6:30 p.m., we found the "City Sightseeing stop" sign by the Space Needle and waited for the bus to come. At 6:55, no bus had arrived, so I called the number on the stop sign to make sure we were in the right place. I was put through to voice mail and left a message. The bus never came. Finally, after 7:30, we left. The next morning, I emailed the company, told them the bus never came, and requested a refund. No response to either the phone message or the email. A day or so later I received a form email asking me to review the tour at some site I had never heard of. I wrote that the bus never came. They replied, saying their website states that the bus sometimes comes up to 30 minutes late due to traffic. This was a Sunday evening tour, at a predetermined time! I've now had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Don't, don't, don't do business with these crooks. read more

I agree with the negative reviews about long wait times. We wete told when we bought ticket that busses run @ 1/2 hr . but for the 2:30 bus we waited til 2:50 and similarly throughout the day. Our call to the co ssid we needed to account for traffic. Unacceptable. Other minuses...price for seniors $32 plus tax =36.00 pp. That is a little high. Purchased the 1 day 24 hour pass. Busses were supposed to be stopping at the designated locations every 30 minutes. But we ended up waiting between 45 to 60 minutes for each bus. We were finally told they were down 1 driver so they only had 2 busses running instead of 3. And the busses really only run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm so that 24 hour pass is really only good for 6 hours. We ended up only hopping on 3 times during our 24 hour pass. We spent more time walking than hopping and riding. read more

' Waste of money and time ' My husband and I bought the Seattle hop on hop off tour and spent over 3 hours waiting for the bus to show up. We wanted to hop on as soon as it started at 10 am since it was the only day we were in Seattle. We later learned that the map we received on this was changed for pick up locations. We didn't get on a bus until almost 1:30 because we happened to see one. We went to pike place and got off had lunch and walked around for a bit then got on the bus to leave for the space Needle and learned that the busses stop at 4 and the time was 3:30. We went to the space Needle and had to make different arrangements to get back to the waterfront so we could finish our vacation day. It was AWFUL! We talked to a few hop on hop off bus workers to complain about how we spent almost $80 for two drives and the response was sorry we changed the pick up place and it's not changed on the map. What a complete WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! We will NEVER do this again! And I will be writing all of the ratings apps to tell everyone not to use this bus. Pick up time was 2 pm .went to pick up point by 1:53 they said bus left 1:50 few minutes early so requested refund which they agreed but no reply and response from email or calling their site manger. read more

My partner and I went to Seattle WA to visit a friend and she paid $120 for us to take this tour. We got on and wanted to stop at Chinatown. The bus driver informed us that the stop was going to be another stop. He never announced the next stop and by the time we noticed we were two stops away from where we wanted to go so we went and said something to him and he didn't seem concerned at all. We then went back and tried to get back on the bus and two buses passed us so we called and they informed us that there was a next bus coming and she would stop. We saw the next bus and she literally rode past us so we called again and they informed us that she said she saw us but not until after she passed the stop. The person on the phone asked my friend to email them with the ticket information and they would give her a full refund, well when she did that she received an email to days later stating that person no longer worked with the company and only gave her 50% refund. read more

Forget this! Allegedly one of the three buses broke down yesterday and the ticket seller jerks didn't tell us tourists today when we bought our tickets. Been waiting at Stop 1 for over 45 minutes and now late for our lunch reservations. I think we ALL should be getting refunds today! We used the similar company in Spain with great success. This one is terrible. It does not start until 10 am and passes by it's rare stops (supposedly) every 30 minutes or so. The only stop we tried to use was not marked. We got so tired of waiting, we gave up and never used it. No refund even though we asked early in the morning. This new hop/hop off service has some good things about it's operation, but some very defecient customer areas they must change. First, there is no guide ! Having to listen to a pre-recored, ill informed tape is a cheap way to give a tour of a city. First the tape is not in synch with where the bus is. Second in the traffic of Seattle there are huge gaps going no where. It needs a guide. With a real person you can ask for restaurant recommendations and what local actvities are happening. Once you have taken the first loop, it is just a repeat of the same advertising. Never have I seen a hop/hop off service with just a single driver. ( Suzy was great by the way ! ) But you would greatly improve your service if your ticket sellers had enthusiasim for selling tickets and you had a real, live guide onboard. read more

$39 pp for a bus ride on a fairly small loop, takes less than 2 hours to go the entire route. Pros-can get on and off, comfortable bus. Cons-prerecorded narration that you sometimes can't hear, small area covered. Didn't feel worth the money. Would've liked to see a wider area of the city. read more

FYI - I paid half price and it did not nearly meet my expectations! Never made stop times and had to chase down the buses both days, missed/lost dinner reservations due to tour shutting down before 6pm, when service notes 9pm in materials......... spent 4 hours in 2 days trying to make use of the service and spent 45 minutes on the tour in total. Guides were cheesing, but knowledgable........but could have been more professional in presentation..... comb hair, clearn clothes, etc........ not pleasant on hot day! Unless its really hot, can walk the tour path pretty easily in a couple hours. read more

After arriving by Ferry from Bremerton, WA, we had difficulty making connections with the Emerald City Hop on Hop off trolley in Seattle. There should have been a kiosk close to the ferry were hundreds of people get off. We walked to Pioneer Square (about 6 blocks) and found we could not buy a ticket. We took the underground train and the monorail to the space needle to purchase the pass after a Seattle resident told us how to get there. We tried to purchase tickets in advance and could not get on their website. There should have been more trolleys on the circuit. One every hour isn't enough. Also experienced while waiting at the designated stop, the Trolly went around the block and missed its designated stop! The best thing about our trip was the weather, it was beautiful.
