Frankie was super helpful and patient as I asked a bunch of questions, and Roderick was the absolute man. He helped with the free tire pressure check, and couldn't have been nicer or more positive. An absolutely great guy. Wish this location were closer to me. The experience I had today reminded me why SLO is such a wonderful city to visit.

The installation was completed on a Wednesday, but on the drive home I noticed the truck consistently pulled to the right. I brought it back on Friday morning, and they performed another alignment. Unfortunately, the truck was still pulling on the drive home, so I turned around and brought it back again. At that point, they called me into the shop and explained that a front passenger-side ball joint needed to be repaired before the alignment could be completed properly. They were unable to perform that repair themselves. My concern was that this issue hadn't been identified during the original tire installation or the second alignment attempt. I don't know whether it was missed initially or if it was simply a coincidence that the problem became apparent when it did, but it was frustrating to learn about it only after multiple visits. I then took the truck to a mechanic, had the repair completed, and was told it would need another alignment. Since the alignment was still under warranty, I returned to America's Tire on Saturday morning for what ended up being a fourth alignment attempt. After working on it again, the technician told me he had done everything he could and recommended that I take it elsewhere to diagnose the pulling issue. I followed that advice and took the truck to another shop, where they were able to correct the problem. I will say that everyone I dealt with was polite and professional throughout the process. No one was rude, and they did make an effort to address my concerns each time I brought the truck back. This was simply my experience. I know many people who use America's Tire and have had excellent service. Unfortunately, after four trips to the shop and still needing another business to resolve the issue, I left disappointed with the overall experience.

I went to each to say they never responded back except 1. Now it says they served me but they didn't. I found Big Brand Tires on my own. They were good, at getting my oil change done, advised me that I needed an alignment so got that done as well. Big Brand Tire Service didn't make me wait.

I've been a loyal customer of Big Brand Tire in San Luis Obispo since 2021 and have spent thousands…read moreof dollars there on tires, maintenance, and repairs for my family's vehicles. I've also recommended them to many friends and family over the years. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has caused me to lose confidence in their inspections and workmanship. I brought my car in for an oil change, coolant service, and a comprehensive inspection, specifically asking them to investigate what I believed was an exhaust leak. During check-in, the advisor even commented that they could smell exhaust in the engine bay. At the end of the day, however, I was told no exhaust leak could be found. Within a week, I took the car to the dealership for a second opinion because I was still concerned. They immediately identified a cracked exhaust manifold. Their inspection also found brake pads measuring only about 4-6 mm remaining on all four wheels, despite Big Brand's inspection having rated the brakes as being in good condition. During that visit, the dealership also pointed out that my oil pan is badly deformed around the drain plug and told me the damage is consistent with someone using excessive force to remove a stuck drain plug. Big Brand has performed every oil change on this vehicle for roughly the last 80,000 miles, and I recall a previous visit where I was told the drain plug had been seized and was difficult to remove. After inspecting the oil pan myself, I found the deformation is severe enough that accessing the drain plug with normal tools is now difficult, and there's no longer enough clearance to install a Fumoto drain valve. I understand that no shop is perfect, and I wouldn't be writing this over a single missed item. What disappointed me was the combination of missing the issue I specifically asked them to diagnose, rating my brakes much more favorably than another inspection performed just days later, and the apparent damage to my oil pan after years of servicing my vehicle. I'm hoping Big Brand will step up and make things right, because until this experience I had been happy to recommend them.
