Not their fault for me getting towed but I expect a certain level of professionalism and understanding of the situation. Especially because when my car was towed obviously I can not choose the towing company...I picked my vehicle up and as we left we received a snarky remark from the attendant "good luck with that" after asking for her initials on the sheet. I was headed out of town over the weekend when my car broke down. I needed to get help fast but no one was answering. I had to call a few times to get in touch with someone. Finally a lady answers. She wasn't professional or remotely close to nice. I actually thought I dialed the wrong number at first. She was ghetto af. I waited a while for the driver. When he finally did show up, he wasn't dressed professionally. He was a big slob of a man. He was wearing a small tank top and sandals I think. He tried to bargain with me and told me if I didn't need a receipt he would knock $10 off my bill. I felt really uncomfortable about it. I almost said forget it. I used City Towing back in March and that guy was awesome. I didn't feel hustled or uncomfortable with him in any way. That is the sole reason for giving 3 stars instead of one. If I ever go back I will request someone normal. Not a half dressed big slob. They need to reevaluate their hiring process. read more

This is the worst place and there is one guy who is very rude. I passed by to take my stuff from the car after it was towed (car accident). The guy (I do not remember his name) was giving me attitude and I did not know why. He lied about their policy to get money from me (25 dollars fee to get my stuff out of my car) although I told him I have full coverage. And when I called him out about it, he got pissed off and got up my face and was trying to attack me. Other employees had to separate him and take him away. I would not trust these people for shit. Already called my AAA insurance agent and asked them to take my car to their facility. Should have probably press charges too. read more

A couple weeks ago, my car broke down on the side of the expressway. It was late at night and cold. I was stuck in a bad location and I wanted to get out of there quick. I don't have roadside, so I called City Towing. The man who answered the phone was extremely kind. His name was Kevin. He was fast and professional. He wore a mask and worked safely. He got to me in no time. He let me wait in the warm truck while he hooked everything. I was able to get a ride home with my friend, but it took her a while to get there. Kevin waited with me. My wife got two flat tires in one day. One on the way to work, and one on the way home with a donut already installed. Needless to say we needed a tow. She had parked her car in a safe spot and took an Uber home, while I left from work about an hour away. I called Tim at City Towing on my way out and not only did he agree to tow at a really reasonable rate, he also agreed to time it so we got to the car at roughly the same time. He picked it up and dropped it off downriver, and day later and two new tires she's back on the road again. read more

I called them today to have my wife's van towed after she drove in the water. First off the guy I talked to was very rude. Second he told me it would cost 75 dollars to tow my van 1/2 mile. I have used them multiple times in the past and always had good service and was charge 50 dollars. On time from Westland to lincoln park and paid 120 dollars. The guy then tells me they always charged 75. I call BS overcharging to take advantage of other people's misfortune. Will never use them again. I towed it myself. Never again customer! read more

City Towing is my usual go to company if I'm ever stranded, but after Saturday I don't know anymore. I called for a tow on Saturday 12/4, and for one thing the person that answered was rude af like I ruined his day, told me it was gonna be close to 2-3 hours for a truck to get to me, of course I waited. When the driver did show up, he was a big slob of a man, and a woman in the front seat of the truck just giving me a cold dead stare, I was definitely feeling uncomfortable. I went over to the truck to pay with my credit card, and I wanted to make sure to get a receipt, but the guy told me it would be texted to me, which I thought was odd?!? Every other time I've used City they wrote my info down on the invoice and gave me a copy. Finally I was getting ready to ask if I could get a ride but I looked inside the truck and between the lady staring down my every move, and the car seat with a baby in the middle, I realized there was no room, not to mention the bad body odor smell and a strong odor of weed. I will be checking my credit card statement because the receipt I was texted didn't say City Towing on it, something is feeling a little sketchy here! read more

AAA was swamped with their tow truck companies. Didn't want to wait all weekend for a dead battery. Called City Towing and they were at my house in 15 minutes. The person that charged the battery was very nice and polite. Will recommend them to my friends. Hard to find reliable businesses anymore. read more
