This place has always done me well. I had gotten a guinea pig months ago and he just got sick a few days ago. I took him to the vet and he had a parasite coccidious and calic. He died from not being strong enough but this place does not test there animals for parasites Which can be a serious problem for owners with other animals and can cause emotional problems. He lived with another guinea pig and I had to get him tested as well which is tons of money, I'm willing to spend, but you shouldn't have to they should test there pets. just be aware that there animals are not tested which can cause spread of a parasite and death of your animals. read more

I just want to say that I think Sondra's City Zoo is awesome. The staff there are very knowledgeable and friendly. Mason is very knowledgeable about everything in the store and takes that extra step to help you out with whatever you need. I am not one to write many reviews but felt I had to. Our son was given a very large tank for a Christmas present that came with a bunch of pieces we knew little about or how they worked. We also needed an education on fish and what would work best for us. We were lucky enough to get assigned to Mason who was beyond wonderful! He helped us explain what we had and showed us how to work things as well as told us what we would need. He also spent a great deal of time with our 5 year old son talking about fish. We were so very glad we stopped here as it is a bit out of the way for us but way better than going to a big chain store. The store had a great selection of merchandise and the staff was Incredibly helpful and friendly. We will surely be going back and we hope Mason gets recognized for being an asset to the City Zoo business. It was because of him that we will be regular customers. read more

I was sorely disappointed. At first, I thought this was a consignment shop instead of a pet store because there were dog outfits in disarray in the front window. The store was strangely organized with the dog section in separate places. The staff was attentive and asked if I needed help. I was looking for a dog harness, however, there was very limited selection. The smell when I entered in was unbearable, I wanted to leave as soon as possible, the place seemed very dirty. The staff was friendly when I checked out and gave me know trouble for changing the size of the harness. The check out lady who I believe is the owner, was nice but I overheard her saying "this day has gone to shit" to another person which I felt was very unprofessional. read more
