I wasn't quite sure if I'd be picking up a poodle, a schnauzer, or a doodle at the place, as I have in the past from other places where the groomers only knew the popular breeds and cuts. We were so happy the girls looked like proper bedlingtons when they were picked up! They came home clean, neat and relaxed, too. Our dogs are pets, not show dogs, so we just want them to be clean and comfortable; to look like their breed is truly icing on the cake! I filled out the online request and Cynthia, the owner called back right away she was super friendly and was able to get me in the next week when most places were booked out at least 1 month. The groomer, Ashley, did a very nice job in such a short time. When I went to pick up our fur baby she was a little longer than I wanted on her torso and a tiny bit on her head. Cynthia was super helpful and took her back to get a little trimmed right then and there. Did I mention Sugar smelled amazing?! I also bought some super yummy (and very affordable doggie treats). Cynthia sent me off with a lovely first time doggie welcome bag. I will definitely be supporting her from now on and highly recommend.

Switching to a healthier diet has alleviate my cats' skin and digestive issues, but best of all I felt supported during the transition. While our dog "Marley" was at the groomer getting simple nail trim and bath, we received a phone call from Urban Tails stating that there was an "accident". We rushed to the groomer to find out the worst news. Our beloved Marley was dead. The groomer stated she brought Marley to the back room and place Marley in a bath tub and placed her on a choke collar. After the groomer was done giving Marley a bath, the groomer stated: "...Marley jumped out of the tub and broke her neck... it all happened so quickly, it was an accident.." At first, I was sympathetic to the situation, but as i demanded to see the video footage, I was denied viewing any video footage because the owner of Urban Tails stated: ".. it's too graphic to watch.." We left Urban Tails with our sweet Marley's body wrapped in a cold wet towel. Our lawyer also requested to view the video footage. This is when we found out the TRUTH. After the groomer finished rinsing Marley, the groomer proceeded to leave the room leaving Marley soaking wet, attached to the choke holder and alone in the tub. Approx 1 min later, Marley began to look around. Then she jumped out of the tub with the choke collar still attached. Marley then began to struggle for her life, gasping for air and trying to reach for anything to help her breath. She could not touch the ground. She struggled for 8 WHOLE MINUTES according to the video footage. Her body went limb at 9 minutes. Marley was found hanging by the choke collar outside of the tub by a different groomer at 11 minutes. 11 minutes have passed since the original groomer left the room. Her body was unresponsive and Marley was dead. The original story given to us by the groomer was a complete lie. This was NO accident!! This was complete and utter NEGLIGENCE!! Marley did not die instantly as the groomer stated. Our poor Marley struggled for her life and suffered a senseless death. We feel tremendous guilt for trusting our family member with Urban Tails. We should have never brought her there. If you love your pet as much as we do, please please please DO NOT bring your pet to Urban Tails. Nothing on earth will bring beloved Marley back to us. But we hope to inform others to learn from our tragedy. The groomer should have never left her unattended and the use of choke collars should only be used by properly trained groomers or omitted from grooming / bathing techniques completely. The heartache of losing a loved one in such a sudden tragic manner is overwhelmingly difficult. Please DO NOT bring your pet to Urban Tails!! In solidarity - Marley's parents

I have been bringing my dogs here since 2021. It really pains me to change my former 5 star review…read moreto a 1 star. I knew the former owners very well (we were friends over time), and they trained my older French bulldog. I have boarded him here every trip we've taken since then, and also brought him for refresher courses in training and daycare since 2021. I got a second French bulldog puppy last year, who also came here for training. Since the prior owners sold the location, I have noticed a decline in the ability and care of the staff. Her training was definitely significantly subpar compared to my other pup. She will not follow any commands, and is also not fully potty trained (another aspect that we had asked for in her training). Basically, I am not sure what we paid for. The trainers I have met or seen videos from seem very inexperienced and sometimes are unable to handle the dogs (my dogs are less than 33 pounds each). Also they always forget to give back our dogs extra food, supplies, and anything we brought every time we pick them up. Most recently, I had boarded both of the pups for a week. There were multiple issues I will highlight below. The most serious concern I had since that week of boarding is a behavioral change in my puppy. She normally has a very sweet disposition and gets along with all dogs. She attends daycare at multiple places and is loved by dogs and staff alike. Upon returning home, she is now growling at other dogs, and she tried to aggressively attack my older pup repeatedly. This aggressive behavior started immediately after she returned home from Love for Dogs and had never happened prior. She also had a staph infection in her neck, which appears to be from a bite. I am concerned she was attacked or had a traumatic incident, and actually had to take the pups for emergent training a few days after bringing them home with another facility (costing many thousands of dollars) because I was scared they'd hurt each other. I have requested a call for the past week almost daily and have not yet been contacted. I feel very hurt and betrayed as I felt that some of these people were like family to my pups over the years. I am truly hoping that the new facility we emergently took her to will be able to help her recover so she can come home. The next issue I had was when I came back and picked them up, they were supposed to be bathed ($80 paid). My dogs had mud and filth that could only have accumulated for days still on them. No one could give me a straight answer if they'd been bathed at first, but later they said they were bathed but got muddy after. The layers of mud we scrubbed off when we got home could not have been from one day. We requested a refund but our calls and texts have been ignored. TLDR- I do not recommend this place for training, daycare or boarding, at the risk of your dog being injured, traumatized, and not cared for properly.
