Hosted my birthday event here in April. I Rented the court for 2 hours with a coach. Setting up the event was easy enough through the events staff. The food and cocktails were good. no complaints! I like that it's indoors and just a short 8 minute walk from the E train. The place is clean. Staff and players were friendly. I also liked that they put your name on the board and announce when it's your turn and who you're playing. There are just 4 courts, but as I booked communit play on Diwali, there were just 2 courts available. Two of the courts were reserved for a kids camp because schools were closed. When I booked, I didn't see any note about limited court space. Also, the little bar/cafe was closed or unstaffed. Note: the sign is painted on the building and the shades were drawn over the door; if it weren't for the decals on the sidewalk, it would be easy to miss. read more

Courts are crunched together with little 2 foot plastic fences between the courts. I went a few months ago visiting Astoria. I guess space is at a premium in the city. Very little to choose from. Courts are very close to walls, with barely any room behind baselines. read more

Came here on Saturday and paid $100 for 1-hour. I really enjoyed playing pickle ball here, although I'd like the price to be a little more affordable. Definitely recommend coming to this location if you're looking to reserve a court. read more

City Pickle in Long Island City is a great spot if you just wanna play for fun. They got a good amount of courts, so you're not waiting around too long but you should also make a reservation. Also got a full bar and plenty of food options for when you get too hungry from all the pickling! Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's an interesting location, and found myself a little lost! I saw the CityPickle logo on the windows but the door seems covered so it is not obvious it's the entrance. Once I entered, it was a pretty seamless check in where I signed a CityPickle waiver for specifically the Long Island City location, and went on my way since I was part of a large party that booked 2 courts. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the space. I've been to the CityPickle in Industry City. There was MUCH much more space in that venue, and more courts. This CityPickle had 4 courts total. All of them fitting together like a tetris game though, rather than being parallel. I felt like this caused a lot of balls to roll into court. Additionally, because of the style of the building, there were surprisingly a lot of balls that hit the ceiling (lot of funky exposed piping and infrastructure sticking out) and random pillars that are all over the location too. There is a seating area on one side of the wall, which along one court. A lot of balls also tend to fling at their faces, so people sitting there should be prepared. As I mentioned, I came with a big group, so when a couple of people were standing in that area and talking, as they do, there were points in the game that I literally didn't have enough space to hit the ball if it came to the far left side of the court. A different court was so close to the wall, that one had very limited space to serve outside the line. So depending which court and which side, certain moves and aspects of the game felt hindered. read more

The concept of Citypickle is great but the execution of this facility in LIC is subpar. I would give it more stars if the courts had more space, but this facility in particular is extremely crammed, and borderline dangerous tbh. You can't serve the ball without hitting the wall or barrier behind you. I've seen people run into and fall over the barriers multiple times. It hard to play any kind of competitive game without multiple point redo's. I get that real estate in NYC is complicated, but there's no excuse to be charging $120 to rent a court with these conditions... $80 would be more reasonable. Unfortunately in the winter, there's no other alternatives for indoor courts near the city. However, I will say the staff is super friendly and great and they do a good job of hosting DUPR events and social events as well. This citypickle location is fine if you just want to do drills or a fun social play, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for a proper competitive game. read more

This review is for city pickle in Long Island city. I went to an event for Galentine's day, and I had such a blast. The people who worked at city pickle we're so warm and inviting, and makes me want to go back for other events and compete in their leagues. The place itself has 4 courts and it's very clean and tidy, even the bathrooms were clean! They also have a coat rack, ample chairs and tables, as well as a bar and food area. These courts have no back court. Like almost zero. So be prepared for that. The best deal is community play and they have a great fair automated system. This review if for Industrial City. Booked a court yesterday. This place is ridiculous and to charge 80.00 an hour is insane!! You have to go outside if you need to use the bathroom and it is TWO buildings away. The place is a warehouse so you can image how cold it is inside. It was so cold I felt like I was playing outside. Which is nuts considering how much they are charging an hour. There is only one little bench for your belongings that is shared with two courts. The lighting is bad and there's a glare thru the windows so you can't see the ball. Did NOT enjoy my time at this place. I would never go back or recommend this place. Charging 80.00 an hour I really expect more. read more

Played here for the first time yesterday and was really disappointed in the venue. I play pickleball almost daily and I like competitive play. This location has 4 courts that are very tightly packed together and there's no room for you to run or really serve/return properly since there's not much space between the courts. The courts are fun if you want to just drill or play socially where you're serving and returning with not much power. However, serious players should probably avoid this place. Overall, I would not pay the $40 to play for 2 hours, but $10 for community play was okay. read more

This review is for Wollman rink. The place is spectacular looking, but there are just too many issues. The price for their clinics and open play is pretty expensive - $60 up from $40 last year. The community play is a good deal for $5 an hour, but can be very problematic depending on who is running it. The open play spots go in minutes when the signups go live and it seems some people sign up nearly every day. There should probably be a limit as to how many times a week people can book community play in the interest of fairness. There are some really good people who sign up for community play. As someone who's more of a beginner, it makes it much less fun. These people often make it clear they don't want to play with people who are just learning and honestly I don't blame them. It's not fun for me either to have to play with people who are so much more skilled. Today I was put into a game with two very experienced players and one of them hit a ball with incredible power directly at my head. Luckily I ducked out of the way in time, but was that really necessary? Not to mention if it had actually hit me, I probably would have had a somewhat serious injury. No apology from the player either, so it was probably deliberate. I've had a number of people (players and the occasional coach) just be really rude to me on the courts in addition to this incident. A lot of problems could probably be alleviated if they made the ability to be ranked much more accessible both in terms of finances and in terms of availability. It's always later in the evenings and expensive. Right now a lot of people are self-ranking which may or may not be accurate. Community play is best when the coach running it is grouping people by ability even if it is self-ranked. It's really of paramount importance for everyone's enjoyment and yet City Pickle doesn't seem to understand this. Instead of making sure that the coach knows to do this, they let inexperienced youngsters handle it however they want and some get how to do it correctly, and some don't unfortunately. They are at least letting community players use open courts so no one has to rotate in and out for the most part, but once again it's become too disorganized not to mention dangerous for me to continue to participate. I wish I could like City Pickle, but I just can't anymore. There are plenty of other places that are doing leagues, open play, etc. that are at least much, much cheaper, although I cannot yet speak to their quality. read more

tried to host an event at City Pickle at Wollman Rink however was left with a nightmare of a booking experience. There is no phone number available to contact anyone, and trying to get in touch via both email and their app was next to impossible. They cancelled our reservation the night before due to a "rain out" yet it it ended up not raining at all, as such being a rash and unnecessary cancellation. Would love to eventually try out the City Pickle however horribly painful booking experience and left in the dark the entire time. read more

This review is for wollman rink pickleball court. Cracked floor and awkward court positioning. One court we played at is cut off by the wall at 45 degree angle from the left corner, leaving you 0 space to prepare for deep shots. For $100+ an hour rate, it's more worthwhile to spend that money anywhere else. Front desk service was also subpar. An asian receptionist saw us walk in to check in, then turned around and started chatting with her friends behind the counter for almost 5 minutes straight until another colleague of hers was able to greet us. read more

Three cheers to the brilliant founders of CityPickle. They are savvy women who understand the need to give PickleBall lovers a place to play. The pop-up at Wollman Rink has 14 courts and all of the amenities to accommodate the ever-growing number of players. The courts in Central Park are fabulous and playing with views of Manhattan is beyond exciting. They have a stellar staff of smart people at the courts and today was opening day. It will only get better. There is also something for everyone. You can be a beginner or a seasoned player, you can have the money to play or be on a budget and you will find something to book. The affiliations with organizations that cater to people with special needs and youth who don't have access to this wonderful game is a testament to their kindness and desire to give access to everyone. I recommend downloading the app CityPickle. I set up my account and found the app so easy to navigate. I do not work for CityPickle nor do I benefit in any way from this review. My excitement is why I am posting this review. Some people think the pricing is a tad high but I do not agree. Divide by 4 and it's perfectly fair, especially given the views, the quality of the courts and being able to play this great game with other like-minded people.
