My family and I stopped in tonight. I think it was our second time. We had a very attentive and kind server named, Quinn. She was fast and kept her eye on our drink and did all the right things to check on upscale options. Kudos. We had good food, including the brisket and chicken tacos, which were good, but could use a bit more salt possibly for flavor. And I had a brisket sandwich, tender and delicious but I added a little salt for my taste. I enjoyed the vinegar with my fries, a sauce option on the table. And I put bbq mustard on my sandwich with the pickles. I added the vinegar to my slaw as well, and everything was pretty good. My kids enjoyed their cheezburger and chicken strip kids meals as well. I could see some college basketball and the blackhawks playing on screens around the room. 54.90 total plus tip. Worth a try.

A nice local bar and food joint in Edgebrook. They got some of the best BBQ you can ask find in the area.. Huge fans of their brisket sandwich. Great sides as well! Plenty of beer options! It is a great place to watch sports and local high school football games in season.. Great service and management all around.. Definitely would recommend!

Lots of TVs and great service!!

Came here for drinks and music on a Saturday night. Great service. Terry Byrne was singing- he is awesome. Friendly people. Lots of TVs. Great service. Street parking. Good selection of beer although i drank Tito's and soda. Will be back to have dinner.

My buddies and I came here Friday night for some drinks and a quick bite before Jackass Forever. We had a great time as it's filled with locals and their families. They have a nice selection of beers and some liquor as drinking options available. After a few Jai Alai's, I ordered their burger which was good accompanied with fries cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed they so packaged goods so bringing in some Coors Light was helpful for Jackass. You can park along Devon with ease. I wished they checked for vaccination cards but they did not.

Overall this was a good experience. The food was good. We tried the brisket egg rolls and a couple other items. We were looking forward to trying burnt tips but they didn't have them on the menu anymore. The server was nice and gave good recommendations.

Half slab of BBQ ribs & a side of baked beans

It's a friendly neighborhood joint, nothing fancy or pretentious. Had lunch here a few months ago and enjoyed a very good brisket sandwich. The Missus and I finally returned here for dinner over the weekend. Acoustic baffles on the ceiling do little to mitigate the noise level, which was earsplitting. Service was friendly but unpolished. Beginning with setups, we had to request a few items that should have been brought to the table automatically. At 7 PM on a Saturday, the kitchen was already out of brisket and pulled pork. That's okay, we wanted to try their BBQ ribs. From a run-of-the-mill list of beers on draught, they were out of the only beer that piqued my interest, a Sketchbook IPA. Our meal began with wedge salads. At $4.95 for the small version, these were generously sized and the dressing was excellent. Turns out the salads were the best part of our meal. The ribs, dry rub and not fall-off-the-bone (our preference), were no threat to Smoque or Une Année partly because the meat was rather dry. Squirting on BBQ sauce helped. We were not given steak knives and the butter knives shredded the meat. My side of baked beans was fairly standard but my Missus' sweet potato fries were pretty good. Their coleslaw is crunchy but I am not a fan of their sweet creamy dressing. Not to be nitpicky, but our server brought our check without asking if we wanted to order anything else.

Although we are from the area, we had never visited before, and the photos immediately caught our attention. The bar fit our vibe perfectly, and after visiting a few times, we knew it was the right place for us. We rented both spaces: the main bar upstairs and Nightshade, the speakeasy downstairs. Moonflower has a small stage in the main bar, which we used for our ceremony. The space already has so much character that it needed very little decorating. We brought small flower vases and an altar piece that the bride and her now mother in law made together. After the ceremony, we held cocktail hour and served food buffet style in the main bar. Later, everyone moved downstairs to Nightshade. Its lounge atmosphere and dance floor were perfect for our 50 to 60 guests. Some people relaxed around the cocktail tables while others danced, so everyone could enjoy the night in their own way. Moonflower's event organizer, Morgan, was wonderful. She made the entire planning process feel easy and was a joy to work with. She helped turn our ideas into reality, assisting with day of logistics, décor, beverage packages, and every question that came up. She was always responsive and available. Morgan also helped us think through details that had not occurred to us, including coffee for our guests, explaining the parking situation, contacting nearby businesses about using their lots, and recommending DJs. We ultimately hired one of the DJs she suggested. Her extra support was incredibly helpful and took a great deal of stress out of planning. If you have not tried Moonflower's drinks, you are missing out. Their regular cocktail menu is fantastic, and our experience was even more special because of a custom cocktail session with Zach. He created signature drink options for each of us based on our tastes and favorite cocktails. Every option was spectacular, and the final drinks felt personal and special. We chose Funeral Potatoes for the food. Since they already handle the food at Moonflower, we were able to try many dishes beforehand. Our guests raved about everything. We especially recommend the brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, and caprese sandwiches. Alexis, who heads up Funeral Potatoes, was also extremely helpful with selecting the menu. The only outside food we brought in was our wedding cake. The entire staff was phenomenal. Everyone treated the occasion with the perfect balance of care, professionalism, and fun. The night went off without a hitch and was truly one of the best nights of our lives. Moonflower was also extremely reasonable compared with other venues we considered in the city, especially with an open bar and food available on site. Street parking was plentiful, and none of our guests had trouble finding a spot. For anyone looking for a relaxed wedding for 50 to 60 people with a memorable lounge atmosphere, fantastic staff, buffet style food, and exceptional cocktails, Moonflower should be at the top of your list.

Will come back, definitely with someone else.

We got two orders of their pineapple salsa with taro chips. It was yummy but wasn't enough substance to match the drink levels. For drinks, our group got a wide variety. They have all sorts of flavor pairings to accommodate every guest. I got the Captain's Revenge after hearing the Pearl Diver was unavailable. It was good but not amazing. For my second drink, I got the Chocolate Banana Old Fashioned which I thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't hear anyone in our group be disappointed with what they ordered. Our server, Jazmine, was very knowledgable about the menu and asking the right questions to make sure what we each ordered would be something we liked. The portion sizes were perfect for what we desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the best branzino I've ever had. The skin was crunchy and delicious. But the fish was not dry at all! There's nothing better than a juicy branzino fish and chef Jose nailed it! Matching with the sauce and beans was so much better than any other veggies or starch. The octopus was also cooked to perfection. The flavor and temperature was just right. Not too hot and such a great texture. We don't always order desserts but we had to see every course of the menu. We decided to go with a lava cake and it did not disappoint. It had that perfect contrast of hot and cold but it's served with gelato which gives it a nice touch of texture compared to standard ice cream. Chef Jose came out and introduced himself. We came in because we were enticed by a beef tartare that was on their menu in the past. We're hoping he brings it back on a special sometime soon.
