I ordered the egg sandwich and unfortunately it was not good. The sandwich was small, not filled fully, and definitely didn't feel worth the price. When I ordered, the lady asked if I wanted everything in it and I said yes, but then she kept repeating "Are you sure you want the sprouts?" several times. I'm not sure why she kept asking, and I kept saying yes. When I looked at the menu behind me, the sandwich was listed at $8, but I was charged $10. For such a small sandwich, that extra cost made it feel even more disappointing. Sadly, between the size, quality, and price, I will not be going back.

I love the Yelp community precisely for this reason. I have driven by the complex CJ Deli is located for many years but have never seen it because it's pretty inconspicuous. I wouldn't have found it if it weren't for the great reviews I stumbled upon. I was craving a really good sandwich when it was raining last week, and decided to visit CJ Deli since it's nearby. I ordered a regular veggie sandwich on squaw bread with no cucumbers, a chicken and rice soup, and bottled water. The sandwich was spectacular. It tasted like real food. Nothing that's been frozen or has been sitting out for a while. It was all very fresh and tasty. I also appreciated that there was a bit of egg in the sandwich. I haven't come across a place that makes their veggie sandwich this way. The soup also tasted like it was made fresh for the day and nothing overly salty. They have hot sauce and other condiments at a table near where you pay. The staff were so sweet and they prepared everything so quickly. Inside was very clean and organized.

First time here for breakfast! Spoiler: It's as good as it is at lunch time! :) Service: Great, as always! Ambiance: Clean and friendly, as always! Ok, on to the important part! The burrito is a decent size, not mega, but not small either - this is perfect as the ingredients are all top notch! I ordered a ham and bacon, and there was plenty of both in the burrito along with some potato and some perfectly cooked egg - not overly scrambled like many places do, there was just the tiniest bit of running yolk in it which honestly added to it! The ham and bacon were both flavorful, and it was properly seasoned with a side of salsa. Honestly, give it a try, I thought it was great, and I bet you will also! :)

It's hard to believe a small place like this can pack such a giant punch! Our sandwiches & breakfast burrito were well-made & delicious! We ordered the Bacon & Egg Breakfast Burrito, Cold Sandwich Tuna on Rye & Specialty Sandwich Club on a French roll. So fresh, so generous & so good! The menu selection is vast with Hot & Cold sandwiches, salads, soups, teriyaki etc. You could eat here for a year & not have the same thing twice. Take your time to look over the menu as there's a lot to see. There are some tables if you'd like to stay & eat but they do a bustling Take - Out business as well. Very friendly service & pretty fast too but the meal doesn't looked rushed or slapped together. It's made with pride. The very definition of hole in the wall but that's the charm.

Local gem in an otherwise unassuming strip mall, CJ Deli offers sandwiches, quesadillas, breakfast burritos, and teriyaki bowls. Fast serving, friendly people, very popular as a lunch or to-go stop. The breakfast burritos and teriyaki bowls are cooked fresh and served hotter than the sun. It makes it taste right off the grill but beware of burning yourself. Sandwiches are also fresh and packed with ingredients. Prices are also very reasonable and no wonder it's so popular around here.

First time customers. We live here and pass by CJ's all the time. Our visit started with weird vibes from the woman taking the order. Then I saw her overcharge me on 2 sandwiches. $10.95 instead of $10.75 each. She didn't give me, or offer to give me a receipt!! What the hell? So....I did the math including tax just to make sure. The owner showed up while I was figuring this out, and I asked him if prices shown were current. He replied yes, then re-added up my order to check the total on the register. He ALSO rang up $10.95 each for the $10.75 sandwiches. That was shady twice in a row. I corrected him and then he happily refunded the difference. Meanwhile the lady was busy making our sandwiches and I hoped she wouldn't make them shitty since I called her out on the overcharge. (She never acknowledged or apologized for overcharging us.) A couple minutes later the owner handed us our order and we went home. The BLT was okay. The Hero had didn't have much meat, and was hugely underwhelming overall. My sandwich was the Roast Beef, which I personally felt was incredibly stingy on meat, with just a couple very thin strips in some places on one half, and none towards the end of the bread in the other. I've never had such a pathetic excuse for a roast beef sandwich. I felt as if the entire sandwich had maybe 3 oz of meat on it. On a scale of 0 to 10: Food - Portion sizes were very stingy for the price paid. Score is a 2 out of 10 Service: Wasnt a fan of getting overcharged and the weird awkward, unwelcoming vibes. Score is a 1 out of 10 Quality of ingredients: 7 out of 10 Value for price paid: 2 out of 10 Overall experience: Uncomfortable and awkwardly tense. 0 out of 10 A quick edit after I was finished: I just looked at the Yelp pictures. The food in the pics section looks better than anything we got. I wish I had something nice to say here but I don't. Thank you.

ALERT!!!! I GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THEIR CHICKEN SALAD!!!! I was extremely ill for over a week & almost ended up in the hospital! My family & I ate at this place several times & we liked the food but they obviously have an issue with food safety! Look through the reviews & you will see other incidences of food poisoning. Sad because it's a small business & we like to support good small businesses but you HAVE to take seriously food safety & your customers health!! BEWARE!!! read more

First time visiting this place because my job is down the street from the place. I was looking for a vegetarian/ Vegan option and yelp suggested. The guy who took my order was quick yet intentional with every customer. He suggested something's and I took the square brown sweet bread. I got the Natural sandwich and I only ate half and I am content and full. It is filled with avacado, sprout, carrots, cucumbers and Swiss along with American cheese. It is definitely a green machine sandwich and I loved it with the brown sweet bread he suggested because it was buttery. It made the avacado creamier and it was filling. I'm finishing the other half after work. Did I tell you the guy who took my order delivered my sandwich to the table I was sitting at while people were standing in line. This is a very good local deli. The tuna salad sandwich is one of my favorites. Everything is very fresh and tasty! The deli is run by son and mom, and they close early at 4:30pm on weekdays. The downside is if you want one of their yummy sandwiches, you have to do it during lunch time only. Definitely a healthier alternative to some of the burger fast food places around. We definitely will come back for more of their delicious sandwiches! The portions are good sized too! read more

This place has pretty good choices and the food taste well. Although I did find the meat to kind of taste inexpensive, kind of like lunch meat from the grocery store. But the service is great and the sandwiches were decent and like I said there are quite a few choices for you to pick. definitely give it a try and see what you think! read more

I've been to both Joe's Deli and CJ Deli and - I have to admit - CJ Deli takes the edge. Although both deli shops have top merit, I was overwhelmingly impressed with CJ Deli's outstanding food quality and hospitable service. The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. Although the location is small, the interior has a clean and simple decor. I ordered a sandwich and the owner brought it out immediately. The customer service is outstanding. Overall, even if CJ Deli has a higher price point, I believe it is justified by the caliber of the ingredients and the friendliness of the owner, and I am certain of its position as the top deli shop in Cypress. read more

I'm changing my rating after getting The Club (turkey, ham and bacon). Mind you, it wasn't bad (although on the salty side for my taste), but realized their meats are not the "real deal." I.e., they are just the cold cuts you can get at Costco!! So disappointing!! Was expecting slices of real turkey meat and ham. Now thinking back, the roast beef sandwich I had, it was the same thing. The roast beef in there was the roast beef you get at Costco (though tasty!). I don't think I'd be coming back there. I'd rather go somewhere else where they use real meat!! read more

I am thrilled to have CJ Deli in the neighborhood. I work down the street and it's my new go to for a healthier lunch option. Their location has seen some turn over and I hope they are here to stay. So far I've only had their sandwiches and they are delicious!! Their healthier and vegetarian options are some of the best I've had. Fresh ingredients-cucumber, sprouts, carrots. Great deli meat, perfect egg salad and chicken salad, simple but seasoned perfectly and not too much mayonnaise. Looking forward to trying their salads and teriyaki. Came here for the first time, the owner John is really chill, very personable and hooked it up with a free drink and chips when I told him I came for a sandwich after passing my license test for the first time. Tried the East Coast sandwich, which was pretty good, but I really recommend the breakfast burrito. Stuff is bombbbb. Prices aren't expensive at all, considering the portions are sizable. Definitely going to come back! read more

We LOVE CJ Deli!! The family that owns and runs it are some of the nicest people. They put their heart and soul into this place and their food really shows it. From the freshest meats, to the quality of their homemade soups, and best tasting breads, I have loved each and every visit. I hope to try most everything on the menu at some point. But keep circling back to my favorites: sausage breakfast burrito; roast beef sandwich on French roll; chicken & cashew on squaw; and the chicken teriyaki plate. I highly recommend CJ Deli. Great friendly service, terrific food. Mother and Son own this deli and you can sense the pride in their service and food. I stopped in just to pick up a menu but John? I've had a lot of sandwiches from CJ's deli and they are all for the most part very good , never a complaint . But. Today I had the BLT It was terrible... very dry not enough tomato or mayo way to much lettuce , bacon was really over cooked very dry and hard,almost broke a tooth. Best part about the sandwich was the Squaw bread, very soft and fresh. Still the best sandwich shop around. Just don't get the BLT waste of money. read more

If you want fresh food, come here! A while back my husband picked up some delicious breakfast burritos from CJs and he brought a menu home. I had noticed they had a lot of salad options so when I wanted a salad for lunch I remembered CJs. I ordered the Cobb salad and it was delicious! So fresh!! The portion size was perfect. I would have posted a picture but it was so good looking I just dived right in. The store was clean and organized and the owner (I'm assuming) was very friendly. Definitely coming back. read more

I find Board & Brews bread to be kind of... stale/processed/rubbery on top. They consistent with their quality and own their mistakes and I appreciate that so we visit regularly. If you're new here, I recommend asking for light sauce on the sandwich as people go a little too heavy and it makes the sandwich soggy. They give you one on the side so you can always add your own, yayy!

We both like to get fun latte drinks however for me it was really sweet. I asked our waitress if there was anything they could do and so we went back-and-forth on adding an espresso shot or adding milk to make it less sweet or dilute it a bit. In total she gave me three espresso shots to add to my drink plus a splash of milk and it did not fix the drink for me. When we got the check we realized we were charged for the three shots of espresso that they suggested to make the drink better. At other places the responsibility is assumed to be on the restaurant to fix the drink to be adequate for the customer. That is why I did not give this place the full five stars because I feel like that is part of service and it really tainted my experience there. If you like really sweet you'll like it! The Chilaquiles were really good, but if I had to choose between both sauces, I would definitely do the green sauce. The meat was good & juicy, no notes. They also gave us pan dulce as an appetizer which we really enjoyed.

As someone who loves soup dishes, this immediately stood out to me. The broth was rich and comforting, and the braised beef was tender and packed with flavor. The Spare Ribs with Mashed Garlic had a bold garlic flavor that paired well with the tender pork. If you're a garlic lover, this is definitely worth ordering. The meat was very bony so make sure to be careful! The garlic added a lot of flavor without completely overpowering the meat. The Shrimp Fried Rice was a solid side dish that complemented everything else we ordered. The rice had a nice wok flavor, wasn't greasy, and came with a generous amount of shrimp. A surprising must order was the Cucumber Salad which was light, refreshing, and crunchy. Lot of the other foods were on the oily end, so having a refreshing cucumber salad definitely hit the spot. Staff: All of the staff members were friendly! They were very knowledgeable about each of the menu items. Ambiance: Indoor and outdoor seating available. A good amount of parking in the parking lot that is shared with other shops in the plaza.

I decided to give this place a try after seeing great reviews on Yelp and Google, and I'm really glad I did. I ordered the chicken teriyaki plate and a soup, and both were very delicious. The chicken teriyaki was tender and juicy, and the sauce was perfectly balanced--not too sweet. The plate also came with a salad and fruit, and I appreciated the fresh, juicy grapes and the perfectly ripe watermelon. I also liked the salad dressing! As for the soup, I think it was chicken noodle soup. Normally, I'm not a fan of a chicken noodle type of soup, but I found this one incredibly flavorful. The broth was hearty and well-seasoned. The two workers at CJ Deli are very nice and friendly, so it is simple to have a conversation with them. Also, the sandwiches are amazing! There are so many different types of sandwiches you can buy at this small restaurant, and they are all amazing. I've never tried all of them, but I've tried about at least 10. It is never crowded here, so you can sometimes just go and order right away and get your food right away with their great service.
