Nice guy but charged me 240$ for a audi oil change. Claimed that the oil drain plug was stripped and he had to buy a new one, 7$ from autozone. If he did or didn't strip it the charge was ridiculous. Lost a potential good customer with 3 vehicles. read more

On a recent trip to Lewes we ran over an object in the road, we pulled over and looked at the underside but could see nothing. Later going slow on uneven pavement we could hear a noise, again checked the rear wheel area, nothing. We found CJ's on a search and drove over. The woman behind the counter was pleasant and assurred us that a tech would be with us soon. After a short wait the tech came, looked under the chassis and assessed the damage, tore off a damaged part of a shield and then test drove the car with us. The noise was gone and though he indicated there was some minor damage to the underside of the carriage, there was no serious damage. He then said that there would be no charge. This guy was a very knowledgable professional, friendly and kind. I'd trust him with any repair. read more

CJ is easily the best mechanic I've ever dealt with - and since I'm the owner of an old Saab convertible I talk from experience. Most recently he managed to take a car that was lurching and seizing up - diagnose the problem correctly (unlike others) -- it was a leaky fuel injector -- and then spent days working on it to bring the car back into action at a very reasonable cost. Had I not gone to CJ I would have undertaken a $1,000 plus repair and not have touched the car's real issue. Even if you are mostly happy with your existing mechanic and - let's face it, we are all creatures of habit - you're well served to break out of that habit and try CJ. He's far above and beyond other mechanics in my experience, as well as being a good guy to deal with on a personal level. Highly, highly recommended. read more

CJ Auto Repair is great and I would go back to him. CJ himself is a very nice guy and very knowledgeable in his trade. It was the most pleasent experience. My SUV overheated on Thursday night, I checked yelp on Friday and due to the great reviews I opted to go with CJ. I called him Friday AM and he told me to bring it over. Keep in mind not very many shops would take it on a Friday and during the holiday week. When I got there he looked at it and told me it was the water pump. He had my vehicle ready the next day Sat. at noon. Talk about quick service. Like I said I would recommend CJ Auto Repair he was awesome. read more

I was recently visiting the Bay Area. My car completely shut off at a red light. Brought it to CJ and he inspected the car - turns out my battery was dying slowly. I think we found our mechanic for life! I called CJ today on Memorial Day when the shop was technically closed. Yesterday, our car made a terrible grinding sound when driving, and we are about to leave for a long trip. CJ invited me to come in on his day off, and when the sound didn't materialize, we drove around the block together to test for it. Then he checked my oil and tires for the trip, and encouraged me to up the tire pressure, all free of charge. As he said, "It's my job, I am the car doctor." What a kindhearted person. I just moved around the corner from CJ's Auto Repair and could not be happier that he is my new neighbor and mechanic. I met CJ after my car wouldn't start one late Friday afternoon. I walked over to his shop and chatted with him for a minute. He offered to walk over to my house with me to do an initial check of my car. I was immediately impressed by his customer service and kindness. The next morning, he came back to help us PUSH OUR CAR into his shop so that we could avoid dealing with a tow truck. He got our car up and running again in no time. His pricing was fair and just as he explained it would be. And he's just a really cool guy. After getting a check-engine light on my 1997 Toyota Camry, I called and spoke to a few Auto shops in the area. I called on a Thursday and he told me to bring the car in first thing Saturday. He asked me what time I could bring the car in and I told him that I could be there as early as he wants me to be. He then said that he would be there at 8 even though the shop hour for Saturday starts at 9. We basically agreed to a gentlemen's agreement over the phone that both of us would be there at 8 on Saturday. As I went about my business on Friday, I started to wonder if this guy, who I never dealt with before, would actually remember to show up at 8. There are so many flaky people in the world that I have come to expect people to "forget" or go back on their words. Well, CJ is not one of those people. As I pulled up to his garage at 7:55AM on Saturday, I could see that he has already been there for a while. We greeted each other and I could tell that CJ was a solid dude, whom you can trust. The car ended up needing new spark plugs and coils so he ended up keeping the car until about 3 but when I got the car back, the car was running as smooth as the car ever did. I think I may have found a new, go-to mechanic. read more

CJ is one of a few auto mechanics that really has the training and knowledge every mechanic should possess. We went to four different mechanics with our Toyota Truck because we had a difficult problem involving the valves. Not only did he save us a lot of money as he suggested first a specific to the issue cleaning of the engine, whereas others wanted to replace the fuel injectors or replace the whole engine. CJ is friendly, takes pride in explaining his solutions and he listens. He also did a few odds and ends without charging extra. We are really glad we found him. read more

My brakes were really grinding, and barely stopping at all. I knew they needed to be changed. So on Saturday, about 30 min after opening, without any calls ahead, I took a chance and went to CJ's based on the reviews. He was really nice and attentive when I related my issues. When I asked if he had opening to work on my car that day, he briefly mentioned he usually worked Sats by appointment, but that was never mentioned again and he never treated that as an issue! He immediately asked more questions and had me describe more of the issues and symptoms. CJ was very patient and willing to answer all my questions, which I really appreciated! He was chatting with me, telling me stories like as if we were long time friends. He took the time to show me what was wrong with my brakes after the initial inspection, and was specific about what he would need to do to fix them. Long story short, he had my brakes fixed before he closed, and even had time to change my transmission fluid. His prices were more than fair, and he even provided some extra services that he didn't charge me for. Which he absolutely didn't have to do, and I really appreciated, and he acted like it was not a big deal. If you are in the Albany area, you should bring your car to CJ. I definitely will. You will not find a friendlier guy and good mechanic. read more
