Was so excited to shop here. The store closes at 7pm I got there at 6:45pm and was told by the black girl working there that she was no longer doing piercings. I had told her they still wasn't closing time, since it was 6:50 and she refused and said she wanted to go home. Then, they were still letting customers in although it was 7:12pm ???? Pls next time add it in the store hours that you won't be taking piercings after 6:45pm. read more

Went to Claire's on 81st and broadway to get my 1 year old daughter ears pierced. As we walked in I noticed the piercing was at the window and the worker introduced us to ratings without us or her sanitizing our hands. As she told us the price of earring piercing were $200 dollars ( I was so shocked ) a GIANT COCKROACH CRAWLED OUT from under the table and walked and stopped ON THE PIERCING TABLE !!! We were TRAUMATIZED ! I would NEVER suggest a friend / client / family member to this location !!! I thought it was reputable and it's worse !! Absolutely disgusting. Andre was so helpful and had the best attitude...he was singing and joking around and made the experience as painless and easy as possible (even with my dog next to me!) I had my original ear piercing at my doctor's office and it turned out lopsided. Andre was so great and professional (it was his 7th piercing of the day) and I am so happy with the outcome!! I love coming in to Claire's and being to see the cute and girly things they sell. I sometimes think I am too old for this frilly stuff but it doesnt hurt sometimes to be just cute and pretty for once... This store is rather smaller, but the displays are well done. The usual hair accessories, bags, and different trinkets and jewelries are very well arranged all throughout the store. It is nice and clean and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The prices are a little bit higher than the usual stores that sell these stuff. but some of the items here a unique and really cute. Definitely a store for girls and those that are young at heart. read more

HAD THE ABSOLUTE BEST EXPERIENCE!!! I had gotten my third piercing done with a needle at a piercing salon and they messed it up so bad. So for my fourth piercing I went to Claire's. Kiara pierced my ears and did the most amazing job. Not only are the earrings in the exact spot she marked it but she also kept me calm and was super nice. This review is for Tiffany specifically. I came in for ear piercing on Monday and she was amazing. She reassured me of the protocol around cleanliness and safety with sanitizing the piercing station. She explained which earrings would be best, asking questions about my allergies and past piercing history. J literallly didn't even feel the piercing gun and have had zero pain since! This is huge for me because my piercings have always gotten infected in the past. Her cleaning instructions were so helpful. It's been a few days and still zero pain or swelling. And when I called to inform the store rightfully there was nothing they could do to help me over the phone. I travelled all the way from uptown to treat my daughter and I got robbed. I had a month away appointment with a piercing place that was $225..the pediatric office suggested Claire's upper Westside.. I took a chance! I walk in a wanted to see the cleanliness of the store and the staff.. to my surprise! one foot in the door and Megan assisted and welcomed me! She was professional and clean and explained every detail abt piercing to me.. she made me comfortable and my baby was safe.. she was sterile and not to mention beautiful! I had my ears pierced at Claire's (I was never happy with my original piercings which I've had for 30 years) and the result was disastrous. Helen Keller could have done a better job matching the two placements. One was far too low, and it was re-pierced twice, both times as ridiculously awful as the first. Too low, too close to my ear, and more. Now I have scar tissue and have to wait 5 weeks to go to a GOOD place (New York Adorned) to start from scratch. The jewelry is pricier but beautiful and worth it. They don't use Claire's method (using a sort of staple gun). Also my ears got infected despite scrupulous care. You might get lucky at Claire's, but I would NEVER recommend it to anyone unless I really didn't like the person! People were friendly but totally inept. read more

We ordered items for party favors on-line and they didn't ship in time for our daughter's birthday party and then they refused to cancel the order and said they "don't allow cancellations." They still charged our credit card! And when we called the store to see if we could pick up the items, they lied to us about what they had in inventory to get us to come in and when we did they tried to sell us other junk! They ruined our daughter's 10th birthday party! Plus, their stuff is plastic junk We should get our kids to focus on more worthwhile and meaningful accessories than "fake glasses," "fake make-up" and useless crap plastered with glitter. Terrible experience. I brought my almost 12 year old daughter to this Claire's to have her ears pierced, and we were treated like we were on an assembly line. I told the piercer that my daughter was nervous and asked her to explain what it would feel like. Without even turning to look at my daughter, and while putting trash in a garbage bag!, she said, "It'll pinch." We left pretty fast and found Venus by Maria Tash on Broadway in Noho. Everybody at Venus was wonderful and the shop is run like a doctor's office. The contrast to Claire's was stark indeed. read more

I wanted to get it re done professionally so I came here and best decision I have made! The lady who pierced my ears was extremely nice and used very clean technique when piercing my ears. While my daughter's friend had a good experience with a woman named Darla, the same cannot be said for Gera, who pierced my daughter's ears. She was unkind, impatient and uninformative. Avoid Gera.
